Chapter 175

SAG -Chapter 175 Transferred to Another Hospital

Starting as a Grandfather6 min read175 of 196

At this point, Zhao Jingyu and the others still had no way to see Huo Zhiyuan. No matter how anxious they felt, there was nothing they could do.

Then Zhao Jingyu suddenly remembered that Huo Zhiyuan had a younger sister.

Although this sister had not returned home for many years, Zhao Jingyu knew that the relationship between the two sisters had always been good.

Once, Huo Zhiyuan had asked her to help Huo Xin with something, so she still had Huo Xin’s phone number.

If Huo Xin came back, she would have the legal right to visit Huo Zhiyuan. Through her, they might finally learn what was really happening.

The moment the idea occurred to her, Zhao Jingyu acted on it.

At present, Huo Xin seemed to be their only hope.

At that very moment, in the United States, Huo Xin had just gone to bed when she received Zhao Jingyu’s call.

At first, she was still half-asleep.

But after listening to everything Zhao Jingyu had to say, she froze.

“There are actually parents in this world who can be so cruel? Heh… hehehe…”

She muttered to herself as though her mind had gone blank.

People say that parents understand their children best.

Likewise, children often understand their parents just as well.

Although Huo Xin didn’t know the details, a terrible possibility immediately surfaced in her mind.

“Miss Huo?” Zhao Jingyu called out, unable to hear her clearly.

“I’m returning immediately,” Huo Xin said firmly. “Go back to the hospital right now, and don’t leave for even a single step. Remember what I’m saying—not one step.”

“Darling, did something happen?” her husband asked.

Huo Xin sighed.

“Something happened back home. I need to return at once. I’ll leave everything here to you.”

“Do you need my help?”

“No. I can handle it. You wouldn’t be able to do much there anyway.”

With that, she hurriedly packed her things and booked the first available flight to China.

Big sister, wait for me.

You protected me before. Now it’s my turn to protect you.

Although Zhao Jingyu didn’t understand why Huo Xin had insisted on this, she chose to trust her.

As she prepared to leave, however, she suddenly turned toward Zhang Siyan.

“Is Mr. Zhang at home right now?”

Zhang Siyan looked puzzled.

“No. He said he had some matters to deal with. Assistant Zhao, do you need something from my dad?”

“It’s nothing. I was just asking.”

In truth, Zhao Jingyu herself didn’t know what Zhang Ran could do even if he learned about this.

After all, strictly speaking, he was still an outsider.

Many things simply weren’t convenient for him to interfere with.

After making a few arrangements, Zhao Jingyu returned to the hospital.

But the moment she arrived, she was stunned.

“Where is President Huo?”

Huo Zhiyuan was gone.

After asking the nurses, she learned that shortly after Zhao Jingyu had left, Huo Zhiyuan’s family had transferred her to another hospital for better treatment.

Yet when she asked which hospital, no one knew.

At that moment, even the most foolish person would realize that something far more complicated than a simple coma was happening.

And Zhao Jingyu also discovered a painful truth:

There was absolutely nothing she could do.

All she could do was wait.

Still, she refused to sit idle.

Suddenly, she remembered that Zhang Siyan’s sister-in-law, Liu Lu, worked as a nurse at this hospital.

Whether Liu Lu could uncover anything remained uncertain, but Zhao Jingyu had no better options.

She quickly called Zhang Siyan over and asked her to seek Liu Lu’s help.

It was the first time Zhang Siyan had ever asked Liu Lu for a favor, so naturally Liu Lu did everything she could.

And, truth be told, while it might be easy to hide things from doctors, hiding things from nurses was much harder.

Especially given Liu Lu’s current standing, gathering information wasn’t difficult at all. Plenty of her colleagues were willing to help.

Soon, word came back.

One nurse had accidentally overheard a conversation while changing another patient’s IV.

Huo Li and the others had transferred Huo Zhiyuan to a private medical facility.

Though calling it a hospital was inaccurate.

It was closer to a rehabilitation center or nursing institution.

The moment Zhao Jingyu learned the location, she, Zhang Siyan, and Meng Zixuan rushed there without delay.

They quickly found Huo Zhiyuan’s room.

The room itself was luxuriously furnished.

But several large, intimidating men stood guard outside the door.

The moment Zhao Jingyu and the others approached, they were stopped.

Zhao Hu smiled amiably.

“We’ve been hired by Boss Huo to protect the person inside. And who might you ladies be?”

“I’m President Huo’s assistant,” Zhao Jingyu said. “I’d like to check on her condition.”

“Sorry,” Zhao Hu replied with the same pleasant smile. “Only family members are allowed in. Besides, the doctors said the patient needs complete rest. You’d only disturb her.”

“And what if we insist on going in?” Meng Zixuan demanded.

Her temper had never been particularly good.

“Heh. Then why don’t you give it a try?” Zhao Hu sneered.

Even he had been surprised that Huo Li possessed such courage.

Still, he had no interest in asking questions.

His job was merely to guard someone.

Everything else had nothing to do with him.

Just then, Sun Guilan emerged.

“What are you people doing?” she snapped. “Don’t you know she needs rest? Why are you making such a racket?”

“Auntie, we only want to see President Huo,” Zhao Jingyu said. “And shouldn’t she be receiving treatment at a proper hospital? Why was she brought here?”

“Doctor’s orders!” Sun Guilan immediately exploded.

“The doctor said this place is best for her. Besides, this is a hospital.”

She glared fiercely.

“Young lady, what exactly are you implying? Do you think a mother would harm her own daughter?”

Zhao Jingyu took a deep breath.

She understood that seeing Huo Zhiyuan was impossible.

So she simply remained nearby, waiting silently.

But before long, Zhao Hu “escorted” them away.

They weren’t even allowed to stay outside the room.

By the time Huo Xin arrived, she found the three women crouching together in the stairwell.

“What’s happening?” she asked anxiously.

After hearing Zhao Jingyu’s explanation, Huo Xin’s face turned deathly cold.

Previously, she had merely suspected something.

Now, she was absolutely certain.

Her “wonderful parents” were involved.

Without hesitation, she marched toward the room.

“Move aside. I’m going in.”

Zhao Hu blocked her.

“Sorry. No family members allowed.”

Huo Xin stared at him.

“I’m Huo Zhiyuan’s biological sister.”

“I am family.”

For the first time, Zhao Hu hesitated.

He genuinely didn’t know how to respond.

Fortunately for him, Sun Guilan had remained inside the room and heard the commotion.

She stepped outside.

“Oh my, isn’t this Third Daughter?” she said sarcastically.

“So you’ve finally decided to come home?”

Huo Xin’s expression grew even colder.

“With parents like you, why would I want to come back? Returning just to disgust myself?”

“You wretched girl!” Sun Guilan shouted.

“Do you have any respect left? Is this how a daughter speaks to her mother?”

“Mother?” Huo Xin laughed bitterly.

“Ask yourself honestly—have you ever truly treated us as your daughters?”

She took a step forward.

“My sister ended up like this. Was it really just an accident?”

Sun Guilan visibly panicked.

“What nonsense are you talking about? How could I ever harm my own daughter?”
