TFWYH – Chapter 46 Teaching the old lady

She lunged forward, grabbed Jiang-shi by the hair, and slapped her twice across the face—hard—all while spewing the filthiest insults:

“You slutty little whore ruined by men! You got my son killed, now you want to ruin me too? That fat bitch must’ve been egged on by you to dare go against me, the old lady of this house! Looks like your wings are growing strong, huh? Haven’t been beaten in three days and now you’re ready to tear off the roof!”

Collective jaw drop. Silence.

Wait, wasn’t she here to deal with Tang Wan?
Why is she beating up Jiang-shi?!

Ling Xiaofang was so furious she nearly coughed blood.
She’d brought Old Madam Liu here to teach Tang Wan a lesson, not to start smacking her own daughter-in-law!

What she didn’t realize was that the image of Tang Wan dragging an earth dragon had burned itself into Old Madam Liu’s brain.
Even with someone trying to pump her up, deep down, Liu was still terrified of Tang Wan—so scared she didn’t even consciously realize it.

So when she saw the meek and timid Jiang-shi, who just happened to be Tang Wan’s mother-in-law, she pounced. Easy prey.

Jiang-shi was completely stunned. It wasn’t until she’d taken two slaps that she even reacted, scrambling back and pleading:

“Mother, please don’t hit me!”

But the more submissive Jiang-shi was, the more Old Madam Liu beat her.
She was hitting, clawing, pulling hair—completely out of control.

With all the noise outside, of course the people inside the house heard.

Just as Jiang-shi was taking a few more slaps, the front door swung open—
Tang Wan stepped out.

The villagers instinctively took a step back.
Even Ling Xiaofang backed away.

Only Old Madam Liu was still too caught up in her frenzy to notice.
Her eyes glinted viciously as she raised her hand again—this time, fingers curled and long, filthy nails aimed right at Jiang-shi’s face, clearly intending to scratch it up.

But before the hand came down—

Tang Wan caught her wrist.

Old Madam Liu froze.

Only then did she finally notice Tang Wan and—involuntarily—shuddered.

Before she could say anything, Tang Wan flung her hand away and slapped her hard across the face.

“PAK!”

The crisp sound of the slap echoed in the air.

The villagers were stunned.

They stared at Tang Wan in disbelief—
She… she actually hit Old Madam Liu?!

Even Old Madam Liu was dumbfounded, trembling with rage. Her finger quivered as she pointed at Tang Wan, completely unable to accept what just happened.

How dare this woman—in front of everyone—lay a hand on her, the matriarch of the Ling family?

Her whole body was about to explode from anger.
The rage momentarily burned away her fear of Tang Wan.

“Y-You… I’m gonna fight you to the death!”

She leapt forward like she was ready to drag Tang Wan down with her.

But Tang Wan’s face was completely emotionless. She tilted her head slightly, dodged the incoming slap, and—

grabbed her by the hair and started dragging her straight toward the river.

“AHH! You little *****, you mother ******, I’m gonna kill you!!”

Old Madam Liu screamed, thrashed, and cursed as Tang Wan yanked her along.
The pain from her scalp being pulled was excruciating, and she couldn’t escape.

She nearly passed out from rage and humiliation.

Tang Wan didn’t say a word.
If you looked closely, you’d see there wasn’t even a flicker of warmth in her eyes.

Some villagers, realizing things were getting serious, ran to fetch the village head.

Meanwhile, Ling Yue and Manager Xu had rushed out too—totally stunned.

Ling Yue helped her mother up, who waved her off:

“Quick, go check on your sister-in-law. Don’t let her go too far.”

Ling Yue hesitated—Tang Wan looked scary right now—but she still ran off, afraid Tang Wan might actually kill someone.

Manager Xu and the chef exchanged glances and followed as well.

Tang Wan dragged Old Madam Liu like a dead pig all the way to the riverbank.
She completely ignored the woman’s curses and thrashing.
