“Jiaohua, is that haunted house really strange?” Tang Yan asked.
Zhang Jiaohua retorted, “You should know that more than ten people have died in the haunted house recently, right?”
Tang Yan nodded, “Didn’t those ten people die from suffocation in the tunnel? Could there be something else?”
“We found their bodies. I went down there with a few Taoists. This time, it was really an adventure. We encountered a lot of unclean things in the tunnel. The bodies of those ten people weren’t just lying there on the ground. They were controlled by some ghostly thing and attacked us. We barely managed to deal with them. In the end, we were all exhausted and too scared to face that old thing again. After we got those ten missing people out, we didn’t go any further. We don’t even know what’s at the end of the tunnel,” Zhang Jiaohua said.
Tang Yan and the others knew the haunted house was unusual, but they didn’t expect it to be so terrifying. Although they were fond of money, they still valued their lives.
“Ah! No, no, I have to call Director Lin. If this continues, we’re going to lose our lives here!” Tang Yan quickly took out her phone and dialed Lin Jianming.
After the call connected, Tang Yan rapidly spoke in frustration and ended the call dejectedly, slumping in exhaustion. “Director Lin has really been bewitched. He clearly knows the haunted house is dangerous, yet he insisted on signing an agreement stating that the haunted house must be the main scene, or we’d face a huge compensation penalty. We’re totally screwed this time.”
“That sponsor definitely knew about the haunted house’s situation. They intentionally dug this pit for us to fall into. Now, since it’s been exposed, not only must we make the haunted house the main scene, but we can’t even shoot anywhere else,” Tang Yan said with a worried expression.
The atmosphere in the room grew heavy. Chen Haibo quickly took out a talisman. “Jiaohua already thought ahead for us. If we really can’t change the shooting location, we need to make sure to have these talismans on us while filming.”
Chen Haibo handed out a few talismans, one to each person. Tang Yan and the others happily took them in hand.
“Jiaohua, thank you. If anything comes up in the future, just give me a call. Whatever I can help with, I’ll definitely do,” Tang Yan said, patting her chest.
Chen Haibo also smiled, “I may not have many talents, but I have a lot of friends. If you need help with anything, just call me. I’ll definitely do my best.”
Zhang Jiaohua smiled, not many people ever needed to ask him for help.
Sure enough, when it came time to pay the bill, Chen Haibo insisted on paying. Chen Cheng laughed so hard she bent over. The others were confused, while Zhang Jiaohua couldn’t stop laughing.
“Jiaohua, you think I’m pretty clever, right? Hurry up and grow up, marry me as your wife in the future, you’ll be making a fortune,” Chen Cheng teased.
Tang Yan laughed, “Jiaohua, if you don’t mind that I’m older, I can be the younger one for you.”
Zhang Jiaohua, who had never seen this kind of playfulness, was so embarrassed that his face turned red.
Chen Cheng specially dropped Zhang Jiaohua off at the alley, getting to know where he lived. Zhang Jiaohua’s living conditions, in Chen Cheng’s eyes, were quite poor, which made her feel a little heartbroken.
“Jiaohua, next time I’ll bring you something. Just tell me if you’re missing anything,” Chen Cheng said, generously.
Soon, the filming of Haunted House Fateful Encounter officially began inside the haunted house.
Chen Cheng carefully stepped into the isolation zone marked by the crew. Fortunately, the crew kept things highly confidential, and no one knew when they would arrive or how long they would stay. Therefore, there weren’t many onlookers.
“Ugh, it’s so cold here!” As soon as they entered the haunted house courtyard, a bone-chilling cold hit.
“Yeah, it’s freezing,” even Chen Haibo felt the cold.
Chen Cheng wished she could grow wings and fly away from this dreadful place.
Once inside the haunted house, Tang Yan quietly pulled Chen Cheng aside. “Chen Cheng, look over there, what’s that?”
Chen Cheng peeked through the gap and saw something strange under the sofa. Wasn’t this what Zhang Jiaohua had mentioned?
It was drawn on yellow paper with some odd symbols, but if Zhang Jiaohua were here, he would definitely recognize these weren’t good symbols.
Although Chen Cheng didn’t know exactly what they were, she felt they were something evil. She felt a strong urge to run out of the house.
“Actors, get into position! Cameras, get into position! Hey, I’m talking to you, hurry up and prepare!” Lin Jianming shouted, clearly displeased with the crew’s attitude.
The crew quickly moved into action, and the actors took their places. Filming soon began.
Haunted House Fateful Encounter tells the story of a couple who, while on the run, discovered a villa by the roadside. They were exhausted, so they decided to rest in the haunted house before continuing their journey. But staying there led to trouble. The couple thought the owners had fled, but in reality, they hadn’t escaped due to the chaos; they had met a violent end. Everyone in the house died tragically, and by nightfall, the ghosts came out. The next morning, the young couple also died in the villa…
Even without the plot, just the props used in the filming were enough to scare anyone.
Chen Cheng screamed several times, but seeing that the talisman Zhang Jiaohua had given her was still intact, she knew nothing had happened as she had feared.
Finally, after all the scenes were filmed, Lin Jianming said, “The rooms in the villa have been cleaned up. If you want to stay here, just take a key and pick a room. We’ll be back tomorrow.”
Chen Cheng and the others were more than eager to leave. There was no way they were staying here.
Just as Chen Cheng was walking into the courtyard, a cloud of dark smoke suddenly rushed at her. She was so frightened that she fell onto the ground. At that moment, a light shot out from the talisman on her body, directly dispersing the dark smoke.
Chen Cheng quickly checked the talismans on her body, only to find that one of them had turned to ash. She hadn’t known what had happened earlier, but she now understood that the thing that made the talisman react wasn’t good.
Chen Cheng looked around quickly and hurried toward her car.
Tang Yan chased after her. “Chen Cheng, it’s bad! My talisman turned to ash! Does that mean it’s lost its power?”
“I… I don’t know either,” Chen Cheng said, feeling even more anxious.
