“Hurry, hurry, hurry! Get out of here!” Chen Cheng recalled Zhang Jiaohua’s advice and quickly urged Tang Yan and the others.

Fortunately, they had already exited the haunted house’s range, narrowly escaping without harm. Once they saw the bright lights of the street and the cars and pedestrians coming and going, the group finally let out a long sigh of relief.

“Oh my gosh, filming this movie is really a matter of life and death. If it weren’t for this talisman today, I don’t know if we’d have made it out alive,” Tang Yan wiped her sweat away.

Chen Haibo also felt lucky. “We definitely need to thank Jiaohua properly later. This talisman saved my life. If we want to finish this movie alive, we’ll have to go to Jiaohua every day to ask for a few more talismans.”

Zou Heming asked, “Why don’t we invite Jiaohua to come and check it out? If we can clear that thing from the root, wouldn’t that be better? We can pay Jiaohua more money for his trouble.”

“Zou Heming, do you have no brains? Don’t ever say that again. Otherwise, we won’t even get a talisman in the future. You have to understand, he only gave us these talismans because of his regard for Chen Cheng. Do you really think he takes you seriously? Speaking of money, can you compare with his family? If he wanted to, he could casually produce a box of Red Jade Immortals and make money by the truckload. Does he need to risk his life for a few unrelated people?” Tang Yan looked at Zou Heming as if he were an idiot.

Zou Heming awkwardly chuckled, “I was just saying. If you guys have a better idea, I’ll listen to you.”

“Where to now?” Chen Cheng asked.

“Chen Cheng, how about we go to the alley by the wheel? We can have Jiaohua check on us and make sure no evil spirit has attached itself to us,” Tang Yan said with some worry.

Chen Haibo agreed, “Yan Jie is right. Let’s go to the alley, buy some new shoes, and no matter what, we’re safe because of Jiaohua’s talisman.”

Tang Yan nodded, “If we’re buying something, let’s get him something good. Jiaohua doesn’t seem to have a mobile phone, so we should buy him a nice one.”

“Right, it’s inconvenient without a phone. We can get him a good number, so we can contact him if anything happens,” Chen Cheng smiled.

“Zou Heming, why aren’t you saying anything? Don’t you want to?” Tang Yan asked.

“Of course not. I’m just thinking about tomorrow’s filming. If this continues, we’ll all go crazy. The talisman isn’t foolproof, it’s a one-time thing. If we keep getting attacked, this talisman won’t work,” Zou Heming said with concern.

“We’ll ask Jiaohua about it later,” Chen Haibo said, equally worried.

When Zhang Jiaohua returned home, he unusually sat in the courtyard, not entering the cultivation map. The cultivation map was evolving more and more like reality, making Zhang Jiaohua feel like it was hard to distinguish between the two. What exactly was this cultivation map? He had yet to find an answer. Could this be the legendary cave abode? After thinking for a long time, Zhang Jiaohua still couldn’t figure it out.

The internal diagram had three layers. Zhang Jiaohua had already seen the upper two layers from the internal diagram, but when he tried to visualize them, he found that no matter what, he couldn’t recreate the scenes of the upper layers on the cultivation map. Sometimes, he barely managed to form a scene, but as soon as he tried, it shattered like glass. Only the first layer’s scene was becoming richer and seemed to be gradually expanding. It felt like it could extend infinitely.

While Zhang Jiaohua was pondering the cultivation map, he heard someone calling from outside.

“Jiaohua, are you home?”

From the voice, Zhang Jiaohua knew it was Chen Cheng, but there seemed to be more than one person. He heard the sharp sound of high heels clicking against the ground and the somewhat deep footfalls of a man.

Zhang Jiaohua walked over and opened the door, and sure enough, there was more than one person outside.

“What brings you here? Did something happen while filming?” Zhang Jiaohua’s eyes were focused on Chen Cheng alone.

“There was a little situation. When we were about to leave the set, the talisman suddenly started to glow and transformed into smoke. Something must have happened!” Tang Yan said.

“Did you see anything?” Zhang Jiaohua asked again. He needed to figure out the nature of the thing.

“We didn’t see anything. We just saw the talisman turn into ashes,” Chen Haibo said awkwardly.

“No signs at all?” Zhang Jiaohua asked.

Chen Haibo shook his head, “No signs at all.”

Zhang Jiaohua carefully checked them over, then nodded. “Fortunately, there’s nothing wrong with any of you.”

The group finally sighed in relief after hearing that from Zhang Jiaohua.

“Jiaohua, we owe you big time this time. Who knows what would’ve happened without you!” Chen Haibo said.

Tang Yan took out the new phone she had bought for Zhang Jiaohua. “Jiaohua, you’ve been in the capital for so long, and I’m sure it’s not easy to stay in touch with your family. We bought you a phone, and we’ve set it up with a card. You should contact them more often. A mother always worries about her child, even if they’re thousands of miles away.”

Hearing Tang Yan’s words, Zhang Jiaohua felt his nose get a little sour, and he took the phone. Tang Yan quickly explained how to use it. To everyone’s surprise, Zhang Jiaohua took the phone and, in a matter of moments, was already familiar with how to use it. The others were stunned.

“You’ve used a phone before?” Chen Haibo asked.

“Obviously. Jiaohua must have refused to use a phone. Otherwise, would his family be unable to afford one?” Chen Cheng smiled.

Tang Yan giggled, “If you can use it, that’s even better. From now on, we’ll contact you through this phone. Make sure to keep in touch with your family. Your mother must be so worried about you.”

Zou Heming had been holding back for a long time but finally blurted out, “Jiaohua, could you help us with something?”

Zhang Jiaohua glanced at Zou Heming, and the phone he had been holding was put back into its box. “Help with what?”

“Help…”

“Zou Heming! Did you not understand what I just said? Are you out of your mind?” Tang Yan was furious with Zou Heming.

Chen Haibo quickly added, “Zou Heming, this time you’ve really gone too far. Jiaohua, please don’t misunderstand. This phone is a gift from us, no strings attached. It’s just a phone, not something valuable. When Zou Heming said that earlier, we all criticized him. We didn’t expect him to change his mind once we got here.”
