Yu Ziqing: “…”
What kind of look is that? What kind of look?!
I already said I’m not interested in your chubby— no, not chubby— sister-in-law! Do you not understand plain speech?
Ling Canghe chuckled, smoothing things over. “Yue’er, don’t be rude. My employer came here to discuss business with Wan-niang.”
Business?
Ling Yue blinked, then crossed her arms, unimpressed. “My sister-in-law said that I handle all business matters at home. If Young Master Yu has business, he can talk to me.”
Yu Ziqing sighed. The girl’s protective stance was giving him a headache. “Fine,” he said, tone a bit exasperated. “I just want to know what remedy Lady Ling used to lose weight so quickly. I’d like her to share it and partner with me.”
Then he shot Ling Yue a sideways glance. “Can you make that decision?”
Ling Yue wanted to, of course—but her sister-in-law had said before: without strength, even a money-making secret couldn’t be protected.
The truly profitable skills were always controlled by nobles or even the royal family.
Thinking of that, Ling Yue opened her mouth to refuse.
Tang Wan didn’t stop her.
But just then, Ling Yu’s voice came from inside the house:
“Wan-niang, come here a moment.”
At his call, Tang Wan didn’t even glance at Yu Ziqing. She turned and walked straight into the room.
Yu Ziqing watched her retreating figure with some frustration—until his gaze shifted toward the window. Then he froze.
A jade-like face, flawless as carved crystal.
Elegant brows and eyes gathered all the grace of the world. That radiant countenance carried a soft, gentle warmth—words like “stunning” or “peerless” couldn’t begin to describe it.
If Yu Ziqing had known the modern slang holy sht*, he would’ve said it right then.
A man like that actually exists? How is that even fair?
What shocked him even more was that this legendary Lord Yu somehow felt… familiar.
“My big brother’s handsome, right?” Ling Yue grinned, waggling her brows proudly. Her smug little face made Yu Ziqing want to smack her.
Handsome? That word didn’t even begin to cover it. The only one who could compare was the “Jade-Faced Hell King” of the capital—the one who rode horses across bridges while beauties waved red sleeves from every balcony.
No—this man was even more striking than that legend.
Yu Ziqing finally came to his senses, fanning himself hard before snapping, “Yes, he’s handsome. So handsome I almost doubt you’re part of the same family—how can the difference be that big?”
“How dare you say something so rude to a young lady,” Ling Yue shot back through gritted teeth, voice dripping with sarcasm. “Truly, Young Master Yu is the very picture of elegance and gentlemanly grace.”
Yu Ziqing’s eye twitched violently. He stopped fanning and glared at her.
Ling Yue glared right back.
When it came to staring contests, she’d never lost!
Ling Canghe quietly wiped his sweat, feeling anxious for the girl.
Thankfully, Tang Wan soon came back out. She looked directly at Yu Ziqing and said calmly, “How do you want to cooperate?”
“Big Sister-in-law?” Ling Yue was stunned, blinking in confusion.
Tang Wan gave her a look that said stay calm, then turned back to Yu Ziqing. “I want sixty percent.”
Yu Ziqing nearly choked. Once he recovered, he pointed at her, voice trembling. “Sixty percent? Why don’t you just rob me while you’re at it?”
Tang Wan remained perfectly composed. “The sixty percent isn’t for the slimming formula. It’s for something else. If you work with me, I guarantee you’ll earn twice as much in the coming year as you did in any previous one. But that’s the condition—I get sixty percent.”
Yu Ziqing narrowed his eyes dangerously. “Oh? And what could possibly be more profitable than a slimming remedy?”
Tang Wan wasn’t afraid to tell him.
She went into the back room and said a few words to Yanyan, then helped her out.
Yanyan bowed politely to Yu Ziqing—then lifted the veil from her face.
