She suspected this man was deliberately pretending not to understand. Could a normal person really have this kind of thinking?
“I’ll take a look for you.” Chu Jinhan walked in unhurriedly and stood in front of the water heater switch, carefully inspecting it.
Song Yunfei twitched her lips, already not wanting to say anything more about him. He was pretending too convincingly.
“What’s so interesting about the water heater? Can you go out first?”
Chu Jinhan turned back to look at her. The lighting in the new apartment was especially bright, clearly illuminating the texture of her skin.
She was squatting on the ground, her hair not fully wet yet, with a few droplets still hanging on it.
However, noticing that she was showing signs of irritation, Chu Jinhan silently put down the showerhead, turned around, and walked out.
After the bathroom door closed, Song Yunfei finally breathed a sigh of relief and quickly got up to lock it.
These past few days, this guy had been acting sneaky. Although he didn’t say it outright, Song Yunfei could tell what he wanted to do.
But after experiencing it once, she had been sore for two to three days and currently had no interest at all—who told him his technique was so poor.
She quickly finished her shower and came out, only to see milk tea and barbecue on the table, instantly forgetting what had just happened.
“You bought this for me?”
Chu Jinhan nodded and pushed the takeout containers toward her. “Didn’t you say you wanted to eat this a couple of days ago?”
Song Yunfei sat down beside him, first taking a sip of the milk tea, then picking up a skewer and eating.
She then thought of something and looked at the man. “Aren’t you eating?”
“No. Eating barbecue usually goes with alcohol, and we don’t have any at home.”
“Go buy some. Isn’t there a 24-hour convenience store in the community?”
After saying that, Song Yunfei felt something was off, but Chu Jinhan had already stood up. “Anything else you want?”
Song Yunfei looked at him suspiciously. “You’re buying alcohol… really just for barbecue?”
Chu Jinhan asked back, “Then what else would it be for?”
Song Yunfei was left speechless. Saying more would just make her seem self-conscious.
Not wanting to overthink it, she waved her hand. “Fine, go buy it.”
Chu Jinhan took the keys and left.
Twenty minutes later, he returned carrying a whole box of beer along with a large bag of snacks.
Song Yunfei’s mouth twitched. As expected, men shouldn’t have too much money—they end up buying all sorts of things.
He placed everything on the table, nearly filling the coffee table.
The two of them sat facing each other in silence.
Feeling his gaze, Song Yunfei became uncomfortable. “W-why are you looking at me?”
After a moment of thought, Chu Jinhan took out a can of beer, wiped the rim with a tissue, then opened it.
He tilted his head back and drank more than half of it, then looked at Song Yunfei and asked in a low voice, “What you said before… was it true?”
Song Yunfei was confused. “What?”
Chu Jinhan: “No next time.”
……
That question caught Song Yunfei completely off guard.
Her eyes began to dart around. “Y-you’ve had too much to drink.”
She grabbed a bottle from the table, finished it in one go, then suddenly stood up. “I’m done eating. I left some for you—eat slowly!”
After saying that, she ran to the bathroom to brush her teeth, then slipped back into the bedroom.
Having moved into a new place, lying in an unfamiliar room felt a bit uncomfortable.
Even though she had been tired all day, she tossed and turned without feeling sleepy.
She took out her phone and started watching videos to help herself fall asleep.
Unexpectedly, after watching for over half an hour, she only became more awake and even sat up to watch.
Not long after, Chu Jinhan also came in.
Seeing him now made Song Yunfei feel inexplicably awkward. She turned off her phone and lay down to sleep.
She felt someone lie down behind her, and a restless hand rested on her waist.
She grabbed that hand, intending to push it away—
But the hand was faster, pulling her into his embrace.
The man’s low voice sounded beside her ear, “Can you… give me another chance?”
His warm breath brushed against her ear like sparks igniting a wildfire, instantly making her cheeks burn.
“What nonsense are you talking about?”
“I already have experience.”
Song Yunfei turned to look at him. “Where did you get that experience? Did you secretly go out to learn from someone?”
Chu Jinhan stared at her and said quietly, “I learned from your saved collection.”
“What coll—wait!” Song Yunfei abruptly sat up and glared at him. “You looked through my phone again?”
Chu Jinhan sat up as well, then took out his phone and opened an app.
In his following list, there was only one person—Song Yunfei.
He then opened her likes and saved items. Among them was a folder labeled “novels.”
He opened one of the videos.
“Everyone, I recommend a top-tier one—very smooth transitions. After watching it, you might even feel a bit dizzy…”
“Stop playing it.” Song Yunfei pressed on his phone, wishing she could find a hole to hide in.
She lowered her head, completely unable to lift it again.
She had only saved two of those and hadn’t even gotten around to watching them—yet he had already watched them first.
“Pretty good,” he said.
“……”
Song Yunfei looked like she was about to cry and asked pitifully, “When did you download it?”
“Probably about a month ago.”
“So that means you’ve been secretly following me for a month? All my likes and saved items—you saw everything?”
Chu Jinhan didn’t respond, but the answer was obvious.
Song Yunfei bit her lip, unable to find any excuse to argue.
She suddenly felt this man wasn’t much better than Bai Yu.
The only difference was that he was better at hiding it—on the surface, he appeared cold, proper, and honest, but in reality, he was full of hidden schemes.
In the end, Song Yunfei gave up struggling and said, half resigned, “Send it to me.”
Chu Jinhan looked at her quietly.
“I can demonstrate the content for you.”
“What content?”
The next moment, Chu Jinhan grabbed both her wrists, raised them above her head, and flipped over to press her down.
“You—”
Before she could finish speaking, he sealed her lips with his.
Then he freed one hand, exploring as he kissed her.
Song Yunfei tried to struggle, but he held both her wrists together, intertwining their fingers through each other’s.
Fingers locked—no, more like intertwined with fifteen fingers.
Palms pressed together, carrying a scorching heat.
He had really watched it.
And he was applying what he learned—more skilled than last time, with more variations.
What had started as a bit of worry and fear gradually faded under his advances, as she slowly lost her rationality.
It was clear he really wanted to prove himself.
So she decided to trust him once more.
The only thing that made Song Yunfei a little annoyed was that he refused to turn off the lights.
He even argued that the book described it that way.
Blushing deeply, Song Yunfei glared at him, both embarrassed and irritated. “If I find out tomorrow that the book didn’t say that, you’re finished.”
“……”
The next second, the bedroom went dark.
