Liu Maocai rambled on endlessly, not noticing that Li Miao’s expression was growing increasingly dark.
“Enough!” Li Miao suddenly stood up.
Both Liu Maocai and Feng Tianhao were startled by her outburst. Feng Tianhao, in particular, had rarely seen Li Miao this angry.
On normal days, she always smiled at everyone, and even when she was upset, she would not show it. What was going on today?
Feng Tianhao asked, “Miaomiao, are you alright?”
Li Miao also realized she had lost her composure. She took a deep breath, and her expression returned to calm.
But when she looked at Liu Maocai, her gaze was chillingly cold. “You, get out first.”
Liu Maocai only felt a chill run down his back. Not knowing which of his words had offended her, he didn’t dare argue and quickly nodded and bowed as he backed out.
After he left, Li Miao sat down again and said to Feng Tianhao, “Cousin, go apologize to Chu Jinhan.”
“?”
Feng Tianhao thought he had misheard. He asked somewhat uncertainly, “You’re saying… I should go apologize to that sales guy?”
“That’s right.”
Feng Tianhao didn’t know whether to laugh out of anger or amusement. “Cousin, are you too tired? Should I send someone to take you back and get some rest?”
He felt that Liu Maocai had gone a bit too far and didn’t like how Liu was abusing connections and affecting his reputation.
But he only intended to give Liu Maocai a warning; he didn’t plan to personally intervene in this matter.
He also wanted to see what kind of background this Chu Jinhan actually had—if he really had the ability, he could handle things himself.
Besides, Liu Maocai had been getting a bit too arrogant these past couple of years.
However, Liu Maocai also held many of Feng Tianhao’s secrets, so unless absolutely necessary, he wouldn’t personally move against him.
If Chu Jinhan truly had some identity or backing, this could also be an opportunity to make Liu Maocai suffer a bit. Even if someone was offended, the blame would fall on Liu Maocai—what did that have to do with him, Feng Tianhao?
Yet his cousin was now telling him outright to go apologize to Chu Jinhan—had she lost her mind?
Li Miao glanced at him and said solemnly, “Don’t you want to know why I bought ten apartments? I can tell you now.”
……
Outside the office, Liu Maocai waited for more than half an hour. Although there was air conditioning, his large body made it unbearable.
He was already drenched in sweat and feeling weak all over.
Just as he was hesitating whether to leave first, the office door opened and Li Miao walked out.
“You can go in now.”
After saying that, Li Miao no longer paid him any attention and walked toward the elevator in her high heels.
Liu Maocai stared at her graceful figure and muttered a curse under his breath, then put on a smiling face and entered the office.
Feng Tianhao was leaning back on the sofa, absentmindedly smoking, as if his mind were elsewhere.
“Brother Feng.”
Liu Maocai called out several times, but Feng Tianhao did not respond.
Only when the cigarette burned down and almost burned his hand did Feng Tianhao stub it out and turn to look at Liu Maocai.
“Old Liu, you’re not allowed to cause trouble for Xinglong again. Do you understand?”
Liu Maocai froze for a moment, then became irritated. “Brother Feng, why? It’s just a small garment factory—could it be that you’re afraid of—”
Before he could finish, Feng Tianhao suddenly stood up.
Liu Maocai’s words stuck in his throat.
Pointing at his nose, Feng Tianhao cursed, “I’ve already told you—settle personal grudges privately, don’t make a scene out in the open. And look at you!”
“You’ve made such a big fuss that the entire industrial zone probably knows Liu Maocai is targeting a small factory. What, have things been going too smoothly for you all these years that you’re itching for trouble? Or do you think you can dominate Qingcheng with one hand now?”
Liu Maocai’s face alternated between red and pale as he was scolded. His expression was full of reluctance, but he didn’t dare say a word in response.
“I didn’t… Brother Feng…”
Feng Tianhao waved his hand. “Forget it. I can’t be bothered talking to you. Right now, immediately go and apologize to Xinglong. If they don’t forgive you, then you don’t need to work anymore.”
Liu Maocai was shocked. His face filled with panic. “What?! Why, Brother Feng? You want me to apologize to him, I—”
Feng Tianhao glared at him angrily. The rest of his words were swallowed back under that intimidating gaze.
“Don’t think I don’t know what you’ve been doing these past two years. If you’re not even willing to listen to me now, then my little temple probably can’t accommodate a big Buddha like you.”
Hearing this, Liu Maocai broke out in a cold sweat and didn’t dare say another word.
Suppressing his anger and unwillingness, he nodded and said, “Alright, Brother Feng. I understand. I’ll go apologize right away.”
Liu Maocai left the office, and the respect on his face was instantly replaced by a dark, sinister expression.
He felt that Feng Tianhao was doing this just to protect his own reputation, forcing him to lower himself and apologize to a mere worker.
At this moment, in addition to his hatred toward Chu Jinhan, he also felt a growing sense of dissatisfaction and resentment toward Feng Tianhao.

The dinner gathering that had originally been planned for the evening naturally fell through.
Manager He called Chu Jinhan aside alone.
Sitting in the passenger seat, he patted Chu Jinhan on the shoulder, who was in the driver’s seat, and said, “Don’t overthink it. We’ll deal with things as they come.”
“I’ve thought about it all day today and figured something out. Even if you leave, Liu Maocai probably won’t let our factory off easily. Since we’ve already offended him one way or another, if we can’t beat him, at worst we’ll just move.”
Chu Jinhan looked at Manager He in surprise upon hearing this.
Manager He continued, “Tomorrow I’ll contact Old Lin and the others and hand over the orders with tighter deadlines to them. We’ll earn a bit less, but it’ll also be a favor we can return.”
“Then, in these next two months before the contract expires, you go look for factory spaces in other nearby industrial parks.”
“Set up a new factory there first. Once everything is in place, we’ll move our operations over directly.”
Manager He lit a cigarette with a troubled expression.
It wasn’t that he wasn’t angry—if firing Chu Jinhan could solve the problem, he would have kicked him out immediately.
But firing him wouldn’t fully solve the issue. He had already been targeted by Liu Maocai. If he also fired Chu Jinhan, it would be a double loss.
After weighing the pros and cons all day, he came up with this barely workable plan.
Outsourcing orders and relocating the factory would only mean earning less and wasting some time. As long as Chu Jinhan built good relationships with those two German clients, they could eventually earn it back.
But if Chu Jinhan were fired and he continued to endure things here, they might not make any money at all—and could even end up losing more.
Running a business is like this: one encounters all kinds of troubles and difficulties, and at such times, decision-making is crucial.
A wrong decision can lead to total failure, while the right one can turn the situation around completely.
Without the ability to foresee the future, it truly tests a person’s courage and decisiveness.
Chu Jinhan remained silent for a moment. It was impossible not to feel moved.
“Sorry, this is my responsibility.”
Manager He waved his hand. “Forget it, let’s not talk about that. Today I’ll take you out to relax a bit.”
“Where to?”
“To ‘Rich and Prosperous Home.’”
“?”
Chu Jinhan hesitated. It didn’t sound like a very proper place.
Manager He directly reached out and searched for “Rich and Prosperous Home” on the in-car screen. “Follow the navigation.”
Since he had already caused trouble for Manager He, Chu Jinhan didn’t refuse this time. He started the car and drove off.
When they arrived, it turned out not to be a serious or formal place at all.
Foot baths, ear cleaning, massage.
