“We’ve arrived.”
Chu Jinhan quickly got off, placed her on the back seat of the electric scooter, and then mounted it himself.
“Sit steady. Don’t fall off,” he reminded Song Yunfei before driving away.
After hesitating for a moment, Song Yunfei still reached out and wrapped her arms around his waist.
When her hands touched his firm abdominal muscles, both of them stiffened slightly.

On another side.
Wu Wei was also escorted out of the police station by his father. He got onto a tricycle and headed toward the hospital.
Although his face was bruised and swollen, he didn’t feel much pain at the moment—his thoughts were entirely focused on Chu Jinhan.
He opened a group chat with six people on his phone and asked: Brothers, have any of you heard of the name Chu Jinhan?
After a while, the group became active.
“Frog Prince”: Who’s that? What does he do?
“Old Six”: Never heard of him. Is he a rival you provoked?
“Blade Brother”: Why are you asking about this person?
Everyone in the group chimed in, but no one knew who Chu Jinhan was.
Wu Wei rubbed the bruises on his face, fell into deep thought. Could it be that guy was just bluffing?
Although these people in the group weren’t major figures in Qingcheng, they had been around long enough to at least know of the city’s prominent figures.
Wu Wei didn’t explain what had happened—being beaten without being able to fight back was too embarrassing to admit.
He secretly thought that he might have been overthinking it.
Damn it—if the guy was just some nobody, he had to get revenge!
He pressed the voice button and, while riding in the bumpy tricycle, recorded a voice message: “Brothers, that bastard robbed me—”
Before he could finish, a phone call came in, interrupting his recording.
Wu Wei answered irritably, “Wang Laosan, why the hell are you calling me? Can’t we talk in the group?”
This Wang Laosan was also in the group.
Wang Laosan said mysteriously, “Man, do you know Chu Jinhan?”
Wu Wei froze for a moment. Hearing the surprised tone in the other party’s voice, he became suspicious. “What’s up? You know him too?”
“I don’t know him—I’ve just heard of him.”
Wu Wei immediately perked up. But he tugged at his injuries while getting excited, causing him to hiss in pain.
He quickly asked, “Where did you hear about him? What does he do?”
Wang Laosan said, “My cousin. His family moved to Haishi, and he’s currently working at Yanjin Group.”
Everyone knew how big Yanjin Group was.
Wu Wei pressed further, “And then?”
Wang Laosan explained that a few months ago, his cousin had mentioned in a family group chat that their company’s CEO seemed to have gone missing.
All the company’s senior executives were investigated, and many employees knew about the situation.
And their CEO was named Chu Jinhan.
Wu Wei’s heart trembled. “Holy crap! You’re not lying to me, are you? Is it really him? Are you sure it’s the same person?”
Wang Laosan pondered. “I’m not sure either—I’ve never seen him. Do you have a photo of him? Send it to me, and I’ll show it to my cousin to confirm.”
Wu Wei said, “I don’t have one. But I can find a way to get one. I’ll send it to you later.”
“Alright, send it to me. If it really is him, then we’ll—” Wang Laosan stopped halfway and fell silent.
No matter how much Wu Wei pressed, he refused to say more, and eventually hung up in frustration.
Thinking about Chu Jinhan’s face, Wu Wei couldn’t help but feel uneasy.
How could someone that powerful appear in a small place like theirs—and even ride a cheap electric scooter?
Could it be the “playing the pig to eat the tiger” kind of situation?
Wu Wei shook his head again, trying to comfort himself—it couldn’t be possible. It must just be someone with the same name.
Otherwise, he’d be finished.
Soon, the tricycle arrived at a nearby community clinic. Wu Youfu shouted toward the back, “Why aren’t you getting off? You only know how to cause trouble outside every day. When we get home, I’ll break your legs!”
Wu Wei entered the hospital in a depressed mood.
The next second, he saw two familiar figures outside the consultation room.
Thinking of Wang Laosan’s words, Wu Wei subconsciously turned around and was about to leave.
But Wu Youfu grabbed the collar of his shirt and pulled him back. “You brat, where are you running off to? Seen a ghost or something?”
Wu Youfu’s loud voice drew the attention of the people in the consultation room. The doctor frowned and looked toward the door. “Be quiet.”
Chu Jinhan also raised his eyes and looked over.
Wu Wei met his gaze and forced out a smile uglier than crying.
Song Yunfei, who was still having her temperature taken, also looked over subconsciously, a hint of surprise appearing on her face.
The doctor called Wu Wei in and examined his injuries.
Feeling guilty, Wu Wei sat on the chair and let the doctor inspect his face, while his eyes kept sneaking glances at Chu Jinhan.
After the examination, the doctor asked, “Got into a fight?”
“No, no, I fell on my own,” Wu Wei said repeatedly, waving his hands, his expression looking much more innocent.
Hearing his voice and recognizing his familiar face, Song Yunfei finally identified him. “It’s you?!”
Wu Wei’s heart sank, but he forced a smile. “What a coincidence.”
Song Yunfei looked at him suspiciously. Why had he become so obedient?
Could it be that he had been intimidated by Chu Jinhan?
The doctor prescribed some topical medication for Wu Wei’s injuries and told him to apply it himself. They were all superficial wounds and would heal in a few days.
Then he asked Song Yunfei to take out her thermometer.
“39.8°C. You should get an injection.”
Song Yunfei widened her eyes. “I-injection? Where?”
The doctor replied, “In the buttocks.”
Song Yunfei: “……That’s so direct?”
The doctor glanced at her. “Then we can do an IV drip, or I can prescribe medicine for you to take home.”
Song Yunfei chose immediately, “Medicines! I’ll take the pills!”
The doctor didn’t say much and prescribed the medication on the computer, reminding her, “If the fever doesn’t go down after taking the medicine, you’ll still need an injection.”
“……” Song Yunfei subconsciously touched her backside, her expression becoming determined. “My fever will go down.”
The doctor couldn’t help but laugh at her words and shook his head without saying anything further.
After leaving the consultation room, Song Yunfei sat on a bench in the hallway, waiting for Chu Jinhan to pick up her medicine.
At that moment, Wu Wei approached her. “Hey, pretty lady.”
Song Yunfei glanced at him and moved slightly to the side. “Are you trying to add me as a friend again?”
Wu Wei waved his hands. “No, no. I just wanted to ask—you and Chu Jinhan… what’s your relationship?”
Song Yunfei became alert. “Why are you asking that?”
Wu Wei put on a flattering smile. “Nothing, just curious. I feel like I should have heard of the name Chu Jinhan before.”
“Where did you hear it?”
Seeing her reaction, Wu Wei’s heart sank halfway, but he still forced himself to continue probing. “Yanjin Group’s pres—”
Before he could finish, Song Yunfei suddenly covered his mouth.
Caught off guard, Wu Wei was pushed against the wall, the back of his head hitting it hard.
Song Yunfei quickly pulled her hand back. “Sorry, sorry, I didn’t mean to.”
Wu Wei rubbed the back of his head but didn’t dare to complain.
He looked at Song Yunfei nervously. “It really is him?”
Song Yunfei made a “shh” gesture. “Shh, don’t say it out loud.”
Wu Wei felt like crying. “Why?”
Song Yunfei glanced behind her to confirm that Chu Jinhan hadn’t returned, then leaned closer and whispered to Wu Wei.
“He doesn’t want others to know his identity.”
“Why?”
