Transmigrated as the Male Lead’s Scheming Ex-Girlfriend 6 min read 8 of 120 130

No matter what it was, adding “first time” to something always made it feel infinitely more meaningful.

000’s words echoed in Tang Zhen’s mind.

She was the first girl to see the male lead’s sleeping face.

She couldn’t help but lean closer to study Ren Yanjing. Up close, his face was still striking—long eyelashes, fair skin, and peaceful while asleep.

On the surface, he seemed calm and untroubled, as if clouds floated and winds blew lightly. But inside, he probably still had the fiery passion of youth. The flamboyance belonged to the sports car; the warmth and intensity were likely reserved for the female lead.

Thinking this, Tang Zhen lost the urge to scrutinize him further. The car was quiet, the air fresh, with only the soft rhythm of his breathing filling the space.

Unconsciously, she started feeling sleepy. She sent a message to her roommates, saying she might not return tonight. After letting them know, she also lay down to sleep.

When Tang Zhen woke again, it was several hours later. She groggily opened her eyes and immediately saw a magnified handsome face in front of her. Seeing that she had woken up, Ren Yanjing leaned back slightly.

“Awake?”

Tang Zhen mumbled a soft “mm,” her voice still groggy from sleep, sounding like a tiny kitten—soft, delicate, naturally coaxing.

She didn’t think about why he had been so close to her earlier. She just rubbed her eyes and asked, “What time is it?”

Without even looking at his phone, Ren Yanjing answered accurately, “3:30 a.m.”

She had slept that long.

Tang Zhen’s body ached—her back and neck sore from sleeping uncomfortably on her stomach. She glanced at Ren Yanjing and softly asked, “How long have you been awake?”

“Not long.” In truth, he had woken up half an hour earlier and had been watching her the entire time. He never imagined he would ever spend time just watching someone. To him, it was utterly inconceivable before.

Half an hour could accomplish a lot.

But today, time seemed to pass especially quickly.

It seemed like just a blink, and half an hour had gone by.

After waking from his nap, he felt refreshed, all fatigue gone.

He handed Tang Zhen a bottle of mineral water. “Drink some water.”

Tang Zhen took the bottle, still lazy from sleep. She handed it back to him and said, lazily, “Open it for me.”

Ren Yanjing paused, clearly not expecting this. “Sorry.” This time, he opened the cap before handing it back to her.

Tang Zhen sipped the pricey mineral water and let out a faint sigh. She thought to herself that this was just planting seeds—next time, the male lead would never make such a rookie mistake again.

After drinking, Ren Yanjing started the sports car. The orange-red car weaved through the city at night. Tang Zhen held the water bottle, squeezing it slightly as she asked, “Where are we going now?”

“To watch the sunrise.”

The car quickly left the city, climbing a winding mountain road. Tang Zhen wasn’t sleepy at all. She occasionally watched the road, occasionally glanced at the steering wheel, and sometimes looked at the male lead’s side profile.

He looked truly handsome while driving.

By five o’clock, the car stopped at the mountaintop. The transition between night and day, the mountain peak held only her, the male lead, and the constant rushing wind.

Tang Zhen got out of the car and stretched happily. She went over to Ren Yanjing, her eyes sparkling in the dark. “How did you find this perfect spot?”

It was secluded, yet an ideal place to watch the sunrise.

“Just stumbled upon it.”

000 chuckled, 【The male lead has only ever come here alone before. He’s never brought anyone, not even his brothers.】

Oh… wow.

Another “first time.”

Tang Zhen felt her heart calm immediately.

So what if she was just the one planting the tree? At least she had experienced a little taste of love. A little was enough—she and Ren Yanjing were destined to break up sooner or later, no need to get too attached.

When the time came, she and the male lead could part on good terms, each with a bright future ahead.

While they waited for the sunrise, two SUVs drove up the mountain.

Seven or eight young people got out, scattered across the vehicles.

They were obviously young people who had come together to watch the sunrise. Seeing that someone was already there, they were slightly surprised. One of them even laughed, “I thought this secret spot was only known to me.”

A companion immediately teased, “How could it only be you?”

The group laughed and joked, bringing a lively atmosphere to the mountaintop.

Tang Zhen paid them no attention. Ren Yanjing stayed by her side, not exchanging a single glance or word with them.

000, however, suddenly chimed in.

“What is it?”

【The female lead’s best friend is here too.】

City B wasn’t huge, but it wasn’t tiny either. It wasn’t surprising to encounter the female lead in advance, let alone just her best friend.

Tang Zhen’s curiosity got the better of her. She turned slightly to look at the eight young people and asked 000, “Which one?”

Among them, there were five boys and three girls. All three girls wore skirts with jackets, and their outfits were similar.

“The one with icy-blue hair.”

Unexpectedly, the female lead was a top student, but her best friend was completely different—this girl looked bold and flamboyant.

【Xiao Zhen, you guessed right. The female lead’s best friend, like you now, was also an art student.】

In her past life, Tang Zhen studied accounting, but this life she was an art student. Painting happened to be her passion; she simply hadn’t had the chance in her previous life, so now she was determined to immerse herself in it.

Academically, she faced little pressure. Her daily schedule was light—completely different from the male lead. Ren Yanjing had enormous academic pressure, which made it hard for the female supporting character to connect with him mentally. She simply couldn’t understand him.

While Tang Zhen studied the female lead’s best friend, the group of young people also scrutinized her and Ren Yanjing. The moment they saw her face, a few of the boys couldn’t help but whistle.

“Wow, gorgeous girl!”

“Too pretty!”

Ren Yanjing frowned slightly, turning to warn them, “Show some respect for my girlfriend.”

The young man who first called her gorgeous immediately raised both hands. “Bro, we were just complimenting her. No harm intended.” It wasn’t that he backed down quickly—it was that he sensed Ren Yanjing wasn’t ordinary. That sports car of his? Not a few million could get one like it.

And his aura didn’t look ordinary either.

Ren Yanjing felt a bit annoyed.

He didn’t even know exactly why he was annoyed.

Perhaps it was that his well-planned two-person sunrise trip had been interrupted by a group of strangers.

Originally, it was just him and Tang Zhen watching the sunrise. But now, with eight extra people, the mountaintop suddenly felt noisy.

Ren Yanjing felt a strong urge to send them all away.

But this was a public place, not his private domain—he couldn’t just make them leave.

He tugged at his collar, frowning more and more as irritation built. Just then, Tang Zhen’s sweet voice floated into his ears, “A-Jing, look! The sun is rising!”
