MWSB -Chapter 6 Just Wait Until We Get to the Island and She Makes a Fool of Herself—Let’s See How She Cries

The Military Wife-to-Be Wants to Switch Brides? She Turns Around and Marries His Commanding Officer Instead9 min read6 of 20

Before she could finish speaking, Liu Dajun had already impatiently waved his hand.
“Your sister has already agreed to go with you. Besides, this is a good thing. Why wouldn’t she
buy you a train ticket? Don’t overthink it!”

After saying that, he went into the house and lay down on the bed, rubbing his waist
continuously.

The pressure was great, his body was exhausted, and his heart was tired along with
it.

Liu Qingyue returned to her room without a care in the world. After locking the door,
she immediately entered her space.

Over the past half month, the crops she had planted had been growing very well. She
had already harvested some of the vegetables and would occasionally cook herself a little something in the
space.

There were now some more things inside the wooden cabin. She was beginning to think
that perhaps as her farming progressed, more and more things would gradually appear inside the space.

It was just like reaping a harvest—you had to work hard little by little before
you could gain something in return.

She had now become completely enthusiastic about farming and would spend a long time
in the space almost every day.

She still had no idea what kind of changes the space would undergo in the future. For
now, she only wanted to live a good life and absolutely refused to repeat the mistakes of her previous
life.

The next morning.

Liu Qingyue and Liu Wanwan packed their things. Liu Dajun found a horse-drawn
carriage to take the two sisters to town, and from there they took another vehicle to the county railway
station.

Liu Dajun was wearing a blue Zhongshan suit covered in dust. After seeing the two of
them onto the train, he waved and called out, “If anything happens, write home. And make sure you take
good care of yourselves while you’re away!”

Liu Qingyue looked at Liu Dajun’s face and stubbornly turned away.

If the experiences from her previous life were not still vivid before her eyes, she
might genuinely have been moved by those words.

Liu Wanwan stretched her hand out toward the window. As the train began to move, she
shouted loudly, “Dad, take good care of yourselves!”

Liu Dajun’s eyes grew moist, and he was so touched that he was practically
overwhelmed.

Liu Qingyue happened to catch the expression on Liu Dajun’s face in the
reflection of the glass. Her stomach churned with disgust, and she turned her gaze toward the scenery
outside the other window.

Liu Wanwan watched as the train traveled farther and farther away. Once she could no
longer see Liu Dajun, she returned to her seat and immediately replaced her expression with one of calm
composure.

Her hands clutched the floral-print fabric of her clothes, and a faint sense of
excitement welled up inside her.

Once they reached the island this time, Liu Qingyue would definitely be disliked by
Zhou Heshan. Then she would be able to naturally use the marriage arrangement between their two families to
marry him.

And once they were there, Liu Qingyue would definitely be the one working herself to
death.

As for her, she would have a good marriage waiting for her as soon as she arrived.
She would become the wife of a battalion deputy commander. Just thinking about it was enough to make her
ecstatic!

Liu Qingyue turned around, and their eyes met.

Liu Wanwan put on a fake smile. “Sister, you…”

Before she could finish pretending to be affectionate, Liu Qingyue simply turned her
face away and had absolutely no intention of speaking to her.

It was as if Liu Wanwan had thrown a punch at a stone. Her expression immediately
turned ugly.

The sisters did not speak to each other at all. Later, Liu Qingyue even found someone
to exchange seats with her, deliberately putting some distance between herself and Liu Wanwan.

There were four or five people between them. Although they were still in the same
row, people in this era generally carried quite a lot of luggage when traveling, and all sorts of
miscellaneous belongings were piled throughout the entire carriage.

Liu Wanwan wanted to go over, but the passage was almost completely blocked.

There was also a very intimidating burly man nearby. His face was covered with thick,
rugged flesh, and he looked frightening. Liu Wanwan did not dare go over there at all.

Liu Qingyue watched Liu Wanwan glance in her direction from time to time, and the
corners of her lips curled up slightly.

Did this idiot really think that once she went there, she would be able to become the
wife of a deputy battalion commander?

Keep dreaming!

Liu Qingyue closed her eyes and massaged her temples and the bridge of her nose with
her fingers. After the train had been traveling for several hours, her whole body was aching from sitting,
so she decided to get up and walk around.

She got up and took a short walk, eventually making her way toward the
restroom.

A large number of passengers who had been unable to buy tickets were squatting around
the restroom. Among them, Liu Qingyue noticed a married couple. Both of them had extremely ordinary
appearances.

The man was wearing clothes that had been washed so many times that they had faded to
a grayish white. The woman wore a large floral-padded jacket, with a green headscarf wrapped around her
head.

They were holding a child between them. The swaddling cloth was decorated with tiny
floral patterns, and the child seemed to be asleep, lying there quietly.

The two of them kept their heads lowered and whispered to each other.

As Liu Qingyue approached them, the two immediately changed their demeanor. The woman
tightly shielded the baby wrapped in her swaddling clothes, then leaned against the carriage wall behind her
and went to sleep.

The contrast in the two people’s behavior struck Liu Qingyue as rather
strange.

Ordinary people wouldn’t usually be this wary of others, would they?

It was true that human traffickers were fairly common in this era, but there was no
need to be this guarded, was there?

Liu Qingyue frowned and thought about it for a while before turning around and
entering the restroom.

After coming out of the restroom, she went to get herself a cup of hot water and then
returned to her seat.

She sat there for several more hours. By the time it was nearly time for lunch in the
afternoon, Liu Qingyue opened her eyes and noticed that quite a few people had already started gnawing on
their large steamed buns.

People generally traveled to visit acquaintances or relatives in other places, so to
save money on food while traveling by train, they would make several large steamed buns at home and bring
them along. They would gnaw on those every day and wait until they reached their destination before having
something better to eat.

At this moment, Liu Wanwan had finally found an opening and squeezed her way over to
Liu Qingyue.

“How can you just ignore me? I was sitting over there, and I was practically
being crushed to death! And the person next to me even took off their shoes. Their feet smelled so
bad!” Liu Wanwan complained without the slightest restraint.

“So?”

Liu Qingyue immediately shot back a question.

The response was completely unlike her usual way of speaking, leaving Liu Wanwan
utterly dumbfounded.

Although Liu Qingyue had seemed like an entirely different person ever since she had
fallen into the lake and been rescued, Liu Wanwan still couldn’t get used to it.

There was just something strange about her.

“So, can you help me switch seats too? I want to come over and sit here with
you.”

After cursing Liu Qingyue several times in her heart, Liu Wanwan finally stated her
real intention.

When Liu Qingyue noticed that several of the people who had been sitting beside Liu
Wanwan earlier were looking over in their direction, she immediately knew they had heard what Liu Wanwan had
said.

That girl really didn’t think before she spoke. She had actually complained about
someone else’s smelly feet in a train carriage full of people.

Tsk!

Liu Qingyue couldn’t help clicking her tongue before shaking her head.

“I can’t help you change seats. Don’t you have a mouth of your
own?”

Liu Wanwan clenched her fists in anger.

“How can you treat me like this? I’m your younger sister!”

After saying that, Liu Wanwan deliberately put on a coquettish tone. Liu Qingyue
glanced around at the people nearby, then stood up.

“I’m going to eat. If you want to change seats, go talk to someone
yourself.”

Liu Dajun had at least not treated them unfairly. He had given them enough money, so
Liu Qingyue planned to buy herself a meal.

As soon as she heard that they were going to eat, Liu Wanwan followed her.

This time, Liu Qingyue didn’t say anything. She took her to another carriage of
the train, where there were many people selling food.

The meals were rather expensive. Liu Wanwan’s eyes were fixed greedily on the
meat, while Liu Qingyue bought two meals consisting of vegetables.

“You don’t have the good fortune to eat that, so you’d better stop
staring at it!”

With that, she shoved one of the vegetable meals toward her.

“Hurry up and eat. After we’re done, we’ll go back. We won’t arrive
until tomorrow morning!”

Liu Qingyue found a seat and sat down to eat. Liu Wanwan stood there awkwardly,
staring at Liu Qingyue’s back. In her heart, she wished she could grab a knife and stab her to
death.

What’s she so damn proud of?

Does she really think she’s going to marry Zhou Heshan this time?

Ha!

Just wait until she gets to the island and makes a fool of herself. Let’s see how
she’ll cry then!

Liu Wanwan viciously cursed Liu Qingyue several times in her heart before finally
sitting down to eat.

Liu Qingyue ate rather quickly. After finishing her meal, she went to throw away the
food container. When she turned around, she once again saw the child being carried by the couple she’d
noticed that morning.

The child was still the same, sleeping without making the slightest sound.

During the day, Liu Qingyue hadn’t thought there was anything wrong, but now she
found it extremely strange.

Under normal circumstances, children were usually noisy and restless. Yet this child
had been sleeping the entire time.

Something about this situation just didn’t seem right!

Liu Qingyue stared at them for a couple of seconds. The woman wearing a green
headscarf glared viciously at her and snapped, “What are you staring at? Never seen a woman carrying a
baby before?”
