MWSB -Chapter 7 Reporting the Child Traffickers

The Military Wife-to-Be Wants to Switch Brides? She Turns Around and Marries His Commanding Officer Instead 7 min read 7 of 20 3

After saying that, she hugged the child in her arms tightly.

Liu Qingyue pretended that she had been scolded and stopped looking over.

Liu Wanwan happened to return after throwing away the box. Seeing her sister meddling
in other people’s business, she said sarcastically, “Sis, I think you’d better mind your own
business less. What if they end up clinging to you?”

“None of your damn business. I think you’re the one who sticks your nose
into everyone’s business!” Liu Qingyue snapped before returning to her seat and sitting
down.

Liu Wanwan had originally wanted to return to her own seat, but when she saw the
burly man there, she didn’t dare say anything. She could only pace around nearby.

She wanted Liu Qingyue to help her, but the moment Liu Qingyue returned to her seat,
she simply closed her eyes and pretended to sleep.

Liu Wanwan wanted to call out to her, but the moment she did, another burly man
turned around from the seat in front.

“Can you stop making so much noise here? You’re really annoying, you know
that?”

Once one person started scolding her, the others followed, muttering complaints as
well.

“Can you go back to your own seat and sit down properly? You keep walking back
and forth, and none of us can get any sleep!”

“What is a young girl like you doing wandering around here? What if some
hooligan takes advantage of you later?”

“Go back to your own seat already. What are you wandering around for in the
middle of the night?”

Several people ganged up on Liu Wanwan and gave her a good scolding. Feeling terribly
wronged, she could only summon her courage and speak to the people outside, asking them to let her return to
her seat.

The few people merely glanced at her indifferently before moving aside to make
room.

Liu Wanwan finally let out a sigh of relief after sitting down in her own seat. But
when she recalled what had just happened, she wished she could tear Liu Qingyue apart and eat her
alive.

She had actually refused to help her!

How hateful!

Liu Wanwan sat in her seat for quite a while. She was beginning to feel sleepy and
was just about to take a nap when a foul smell suddenly wafted over from beside her.

She raised her head and discovered that the person sitting opposite her had put his
feet up on the table.

Those feet were only a little over ten centimeters away from her.

If she moved forward even a little, those feet would practically be shoved into her
mouth.

“You!”

Tears were already welling up in Liu Wanwan’s eyes. Yet it did absolutely
nothing. The man opposite her merely rolled his eyes, closed them, and went straight to sleep, with no
intention whatsoever of taking his feet down.

Liu Wanwan had wanted to say something, but the moment she stood up, the man opposite
her glared at her.

Frightened, she hurriedly sat back down.

She tentatively glanced in Liu Qingyue’s direction, but Liu Qingyue was still
sleeping.

Liu Wanwan was practically furious to death.

In reality, Liu Qingyue wasn’t asleep at all. She had already known this would
happen when Liu Wanwan complained earlier about the bad smell coming from the feet of the people sitting
opposite her.

That was why she had deliberately pretended to be asleep.

Liu Qingyue closed her eyes and rested for a while. Once most of the people in the
train carriage had fallen asleep, she got up and went to the restroom.

For the third time, she encountered the middle-aged couple and the baby wrapped in
swaddling clothes.

Liu Qingyue deliberately lingered in the restroom for a while. The middle-aged couple
was standing outside the restroom door, speaking in hushed voices about something.

The moment she opened the door, their voices abruptly stopped.

Liu Qingyue narrowed her eyes, feeling that something was strange. She then
deliberately walked a few steps toward them and noticed that there were no other bags beside them.

They had taken a child out with them, yet they didn’t have a single bag. There
wasn’t even anything bulky on their bodies.

How could that possibly be?

Could they actually be child traffickers?

Had they been keeping such a close eye on her earlier because they were afraid she
might try to take their child?

The moment this thought surfaced in Liu Qingyue’s mind, she was startled
herself.

“What are you looking at? Never seen one before?”

The middle-aged woman cursed at Liu Qingyue for the second time.

Liu Qingyue’s heart sank. Instead of returning to her seat, she headed straight
toward the carriage at the very front.

She had encountered this middle-aged couple three times in a row, yet the child had
never once been awake. Liu Qingyue suspected that they might be child traffickers, and she felt it was
necessary to report them to the conductor.

The conductor and several railway police officers were in the carriage at the
front.

As soon as Liu Qingyue approached, one of the railway police officers asked,
“Is there something we can help you with?”

“I suspect that the middle-aged couple over there might be child
traffickers.”

After saying this, Liu Qingyue explained her suspicions and the reason behind them.
Every time she saw the couple, the child was asleep. It really was very suspicious.

The conductor and the others all frowned.

“There really have been a large number of child traffickers moving around
lately. There are especially many of them on trains. We’ve already conducted a thorough inspection,
but I didn’t expect there would still be some who slipped through the net.”

After saying that, the conductor looked up at Liu Qingyue.

“Thank you for informing us, Comrade. We’ll take action as soon as
possible. Don’t alert them for now. Go back to your seat.”

“Okay.”

Liu Qingyue nodded and returned to her seat.

Not long after she sat down, the railway staff contacted the police. About half an
hour later, the train arrived at the next station.

The train stopped there for around fifteen minutes. There were many vendors outside
selling food, carrying steaming hot boiled corn, sweet potatoes, and other things in their hands.

Passengers on the train stuck their heads out of the windows to buy things from
them.

Just then, several police officers boarded the train to conduct an inspection.

“There have been child traffickers moving around recently. This is a routine
inspection. Everyone, take out your identification and documents!”

As soon as the police officers entered, Liu Qingyue quickly walked toward the
restroom.

The middle-aged couple was right over there.

But just as she reached them, the couple spotted the police officers. When they heard
that the police were searching for child traffickers and that everyone had to show their identification and
other documents, the two immediately placed the child on the seat.

Then they hurriedly tried to escape.

“They’re the child traffickers!”

Liu Qingyue shouted loudly.

The police saw the direction in which the couple was fleeing and immediately
understood what was happening. One of them grabbed his walkie-talkie and shouted, “Two suspects are
running in your direction! Take them down!”

The two police officers on the other side saw the traffickers running toward them and
immediately grabbed them.

The man still tried to escape. One of his feet had already stepped outside the
train.

A police officer grabbed him and pulled him back just in time.

The moment he was dragged back inside, the train began moving.

The two suspects were restrained and handcuffed.

Only then did the police pick up the child that had been abandoned on the
seat.

The child was still breathing, but even after being patted firmly, he wouldn’t
wake up.

“They probably drugged the child!” Liu Qingyue reminded them from the
side.

The police officer frowned, clearly puzzled by Liu Qingyue’s identity.

The conductor immediately explained, “This female comrade was the one who told
us that she thought this middle-aged couple was suspicious. She gave us a warning, which is why we
immediately notified you.”

Hearing this, the police officer quickly turned around, shook Liu Qingyue’s
hand, and praised her with a broad smile.

“Comrade, you really are both brave and clever! We have you to thank for this.
Thanks to you, we were able to save this innocent child.”

“I just happened to come across them. I had seen them several times, and the
child in their arms was always asleep, so I started to suspect something was wrong. Fortunately, I
didn’t misunderstand them!”

Liu Qingyue had barely finished speaking when the middle-aged couple was brought over
under police escort.

When they heard that Liu Qingyue had reported them, fury shot from their eyes.

“You damn little bitch! Do you have nothing better to do than run your
mouth?!”

“We’re carrying a child. What the hell does it have to do with you? You
actually reported us! I swear I want to tear that filthy mouth of yours apart!”

“Why the hell do you have to stick your nose into other people’s
business? It’s not like we kidnapped your child! A person like you will give birth to a child without
an asshole!”
