Long eyelashes trembled slightly. Jiang Yu turned and walked away. Now, he was alone—there was no need to worry about anything else. Even if he fell into their hands one day, no one would care about him.
He quickly removed Ming Lang’s clothes. His slender arms were covered in bruises; even his legs, waist, and chest were all densely marked with scars. Apart from the injuries from the day they first saw him, the boy had clearly endured many beatings over time.
But why didn’t Zizhu know? Did he really naïvely believe that this boy had never suffered anything?
With a motion of both hands, countless silver rays flashed out, landing precisely on his acupoints. As the cold silver needles sank in, the purple Dou Qi rapidly entered his body, helping expel the internal virus.
The stubborn virus was so potent that even Ling Ruoxi frowned. A cold light flickered in her eyes. She pressed down with her right hand, gripping Ming Lang’s tiger mouth in reverse, and whispered: “Tanzhong, Baihui, Shuangru acupoints!”
Her hands moved like the wind, the silver needles striking like lightning. The man in green dared not delay a moment. By the time Ling Ruoxi’s words fell, the acupuncture was complete.
The dense silver needles made even Yuwen Zhiyuan pause in astonishment. He had never seen this method before—using Dou Qi to locate acupoints and guide needles. Truly, in this vast world, nothing was impossible.
“How’s it looking?” The red spots on the surface grew worse instead of fading. The man in green frowned, realizing Ling Ruoxi’s method had failed.
The seated figure shook his head. Dou Qi from his hands sank into Ming Lang’s body, sweeping fiercely through his meridians, attempting to clear the obstruction entirely. But he was wrong.
The toxins only grew more rampant. Even her Dou Qi could not suppress them; it could only roam freely, constrained but restless within her control.
The toxins feared Ling Ruoxi’s Dou Qi but refused to submit. Forced, they pushed to the surface of Ming Lang’s skin, creating the current appearance. His body was now covered in countless red spots, giving off a frightening impression.
Such a thing could not be neutralized. What else could be done?
Letting them remain in Ming Lang’s skin would soon overwhelm him. But pushing them back inside would be even worse. Though the acupoints were sealed, once the virus circulated throughout his body, it would be far more terrifying.
Cold sweat dripped down her forehead. Ling Ruoxi quickly pried open Ming Lang’s mouth and stuffed the pill in, whispering: “Try to control the virus’s flow. Prevent it from spreading further.”
“Uh… but if they want to spread, how can I stop them? These things don’t even fear Dou Qi. If I push them too hard, won’t they just kill this boy?” The man in green froze, rubbing his temple helplessly at Ling Ruoxi.
Indeed, this was a problem. If the virus couldn’t be contained, would they just have to watch it multiply?
Ling Ruoxi frowned but reluctantly said, “Let it take its course. Just watch him.”
“Maybe I have a way.” A gleam flashed in Luo Mingyu’s eyes. He stood and pressed a delicate finger onto Ling Ruoxi’s wrist. His sword-like eyebrows raised. “He usually stays with the man Zizhu transforms into. This virus has been hidden inside him for a long time. Now that Zizhu is gone, the virus has awakened, causing this condition. So…”
“You mean… bring that man back?” Silver Wolf drooped his head. How much effort would it take to find him?
Yuwen Zhiyuan chuckled, shaking his head. “Not quite. Just use Zizhu’s power to control the virus inside him. Try it.”
“Alright.” Ling Ruoxi extended her right hand. Purple light emanated from Zizhu. Even before she guided it with Dou Qi, the Zizhu seemed to sense the force ahead and moved toward the lying Ming Lang.
The pale purple light quickly enveloped Ming Lang. The red marks on his body began disappearing before their eyes.
“Huh?” Ling Ruoxi drew a sharp breath. Three Zizhus inside her storage ring trembled and flew out, forming a line beside the forward Zizhu. The purple light spread outward from Ming Lang.
A fragrant aroma slowly diffused, spreading into the surrounding world, refreshing the senses. The trembling Zizhus swayed, as if calling something. A sharp purple beam shot forward.
“I didn’t expect it. Four Zizhus, for the sake of one child, are summoning the last Zizhu. Looks like we don’t need to find him; that man will come on his own.” Yuwen Zhiyuan shook his head in awe and helplessness.
Originally, the five Zizhus were born from the same body, scattered across corners. Now, four simultaneously summoning could naturally send the message to the fifth.
“Since these aren’t the original Zizhus, these four can only barely suppress the virus in him?” Luo Mingyu’s sword-like brow raised. He held Ming Lang’s wrist. This virus was truly bizarre.
Are more Zizhus even needed?
Ling Ruoxi frowned, checking Ming Lang’s pulse. The viruses were hidden deep inside, impossible to eliminate. Even innate Zizhu energy couldn’t crush them; the virus was merely pushed into the deepest part of the body.
“What kind of virus is this, and where did it come from?” The man in green drew a deep breath. He had never seen such a strange illness. Even miraculous pills could not fully eliminate the virus.
What remained inside only went deeper, and at a certain time, it would kill directly.
“Boom!” The room’s windows trembled. A black figure stood like lightning. Purple Dou Qi radiated from his body. He held his chest with one hand, face pale, eyes fixed on the four Zizhus, and then Ming Lang. He inhaled sharply. “Ming Lang! Why are you here?”
“Buzz!” The four Zizhus flew toward Jiang Yu like a formation, surrounding him. His face changed drastically. He slammed his hands forward, purple Dou Qi forming a barrier to repel the Zizhus.
Blood poured from his mouth. His furious eyes glared at everyone. “You… you’re so despicable!”
“Despicable? This Zizhu…” He reached instinctively, but Silver Wolf’s fingers were violently repelled, nearly hitting the wall.
Luo Mingyu’s expression flickered. His right hand quickly reached toward the Zizhus, the black-purple light flaring, channeling Dou Qi to Jiang Yu. “Quick, Zizhu is rebelling against him?”
“Rebelling?” Several figures gathered around Jiang Yu. Purple Dou Qi flowed into him.
Yuwen Zhiyuan whispered: “Zizhus are spirit creatures of equal power. When one is weaker, they absorb its energy to strengthen themselves. A drained Zizhu becomes ordinary, and without five, you can’t forge the Zizhu Divine Needle.”
“Weakness eliminates weakness? Even Zizhus can devour their companions!” Ling Ruoxi snorted coldly, retreating a small step.
She extended her right hand; the Demon-Slaying Qin appeared. One hand pressed the strings, plucking gently.
“Buzz!” A powerful sound exploded, nearly causing those around to vomit blood.
But the four Zizhus quivered under the Qin’s effect, unwilling to retreat. They couldn’t abandon the target right in front of them.
Jiang Yu, trapped inside, spat blood, eyes wide at Ling Ruoxi. “Are you saving me or harming me? Cough, cough…”
“Uh, not on purpose. Hang in there—if you’re a man, hold on!” Ling Ruoxi’s hands struck the strings again, the notes exploding like thunder.
Even those supporting Jiang Yu nearly vomited blood. They had been practicing music for months, yet Ling Ruoxi’s progress seemed unmatched. Only Luo Mingyu’s Dou Qi could penetrate the Zizhu barrier.
“I’m about to vomit!” Jiang Yu was tortured by the Qin’s sound. The Zizhus naturally succumbed to the Demon-Slaying Qin. Add the agonizing music, and he regretted provoking her.
Then, everyone froze. The Dou Qi in front trembled, flowing from the Zizhus into Ming Lang. The virus in his body gradually disappeared, eradicated by the purple Dou Qi.
Jiang Yu noticed his own energy returning. The Zizhus were transferring their energy to him. The others had blocked them from absorbing his energy, instead turning their power outward.
His black eyes shone. Jiang Yu had to admit—he was saved by them. Biting his lip, he whispered, “Thank you.” Rarely did he express gratitude, but this time, he had to.
