A shiver ran through him. The standing figure looked down at the little short girl beside him, gently pressing her small head, a faint smile playing on his lips. “Traveling the world, chasing dreams… what exactly is your dream?”

“Of course, to tease thousands of handsome men and find one suitable to be the father of my child!”

“……”

If a glance could kill, Ling Ruoxi would have been dead countless times by now. Even Luo Mingyu’s expression returned to its usual cold detachment as he sat on the bed, watching the woman teasing handsome men on the ship.

How could such a woman exist in the world? Bouncing around like a child, even though she was already a mother. If any other woman had spoken such audacious words, she would have been executed long ago. Yet this woman… truly had something special about her.

“How long until departure?” Removing his mask, the man stood coldly in front of the mirror.

In the reflection, his unparalleled beauty dimmed the world around him. Eyebrows sharp as blades cut into the temples, his wickedly alluring eyes exuding a captivating power. Even his pale cheeks could not hide the enticing curve of his lips, making hearts surrender.

Completely different from his usual indifference, the man without the mask seemed like a different person, even his voice changed.

“At the earliest, two days… I just hope the people from Tian Waitian…” Ting Hai frowned, helplessly looking away.

Nodding, Luo Mingyu put the mask back on. “That’s good. Tian Waitian, hm…”

“Yo, handsome! Come, come, come! These are my newest chocolate liqueurs—tasty, I promise! And this, my latest cocktail experiment…” Ling Ruoxi’s chattering was like raindrops falling from the sky, ears nearly aching from the noise.

On the deck, she bounced like a little rabbit, pushing a school bus cart and piling all her wares onto it, shamelessly selling them.

But she had to be credited—the items were really good. Especially the cocktails, which had an unforgettable flavor. Where did this little girl come up with so many bizarre ideas to make such strange yet interesting things?

“I’m gonna be rich! If I keep going like this, in ten months, I might be a millionaire!” Ling Ruoxi kissed a silver ingot, rubbed her nose, and hurriedly tucked the money back into her pouch.

Her eyes sparkled as she looked at a boy sitting on the deck. He seemed like an ordinary fish delivery kid—though not as ridiculously handsome as Luo Mingyu, he was cute and petite.

Ling Ruoxi wanted to pinch his face, but forced herself to hold back. “Yo, little cutie, what’s your name?”

“Hmph.” The boy holding the fish bucket ignored her and turned to leave.

“Hey, don’t go! Wait, wait?” She scratched her head helplessly—attempt failed. Leaning on the deck, she watched the boy walk away with the empty basket, followed by an older woman.

But after just a few steps, the elderly woman suddenly collapsed to the ground.

“Oh no!” Ling Ruoxi thought quickly, running down toward the deck.

“Grandma! Grandma, what’s wrong? Don’t scare me!” The boy panicked, shaking the lifeless woman. But she was already unresponsive.

“Let me see!” Another old man crouched down, feeling her pulse, then sighed. “Child, get a coffin. Your grandma has passed away.”

“No! Grandma was fine just now! How could she die?!” Tears streamed down the boy’s face as he clutched her, refusing to let go.

“Excuse me, let me through!” Ling Ruoxi pushed into the crowd. Quickly squatting, she reached toward the elderly woman.

“What are you doing?” The boy grew defensive, shielding his grandmother.

Raising an eyebrow, Ling Ruoxi said, “I’m a medical herbalist. Let me check her condition—don’t let the elder be delayed.”

“You’re a woman—how could you be a doctor?!” The boy had seen the world, knew women like her—wolves in sheep’s clothing. He wouldn’t trust her to save his grandmother, even if it meant death.

Reading the boy’s hatred, Ling Ruoxi had no time to argue. She pulled him aside and turned to the lifeless woman, pressing her hands to the woman’s neck to check her pulse.

“Let go of my grandma!” The boy lunged, biting her hand. Blood trickled down his jaw.

Ling Ruoxi’s anger flared. With her right hand shaken free, her left hand yanked the boy away, pulling her hand from his mouth. Smack! She spanked him.

“Step aside. If you don’t want your grandma to die, stay calm!” The boy froze, staring at her bloody hands, unsure what to say.

Pressing on the woman’s chest, Ling Ruoxi attempted to feel her pulse. The nearby old physician shook his head. “No use… she has no pulse.”

“No pulse, but there’s still a heartbeat.” Ling Ruoxi immediately pressed on her chest, performing continuous compressions.

The effect was minimal. The woman didn’t wake. Gritting her teeth, Ling Ruoxi looked at the boy. “Fine… Buddha said saving one life surpasses building seven stupas. Today, I’ll go all out!”

She extended her hands. Eighteen silver needles appeared. Golden characters flashed in her mind.

Whoosh! A needle shot down like lightning. The playful woman was gone. Cold eyes focused on the patient, emotionless. She stabbed the needle; blood from her right hand dripped onto the elderly woman’s face.

Each needle left her paler, sweat dripping from her forehead. Using Qi to control the needles was exhausting, requiring extreme focus. Especially with this patient, she needed to use eighteen specialized needles from the Poison Manual. Every move had to be deliberate.

Eighteen needles later, Ling Ruoxi felt like a water spirit drained from a pool, nearly collapsing. Kneeling on one knee, her eyes glowed golden as she kept working on the lifeless woman.

“Hold her up!” She had no strength to lift the woman herself—the Poison Manual was too draining.

The boy nodded frantically, holding his grandmother.

Ling Ruoxi pressed on her back, taking a deep breath, and slammed her hand down on her spine.

Cough! Cough! A thick blockage shot up from the throat. The supposedly dead grandmother coughed and woke.

Ling Ruoxi quickly withdrew the eighteen needles, hands supporting herself as she gasped for air.

“She’s alive! Really alive!”

The surrounding crowd’s eyes went wide. The little girl could even revive the dead—a truly amazing child!

“Grandma! Are you okay?” The boy trembled, clutching his grandmother, relieved he wasn’t alone.

The elderly woman patted her chest. “Choked on phlegm. I thought I’d never see you again. Silly child, grandma’s fine.”

“Ha…” Ling Ruoxi smiled faintly, wiping sweat from her forehead. She had saved her.

Standing unsteadily, her vision blurred, she felt herself about to fall.

The boy panicked, but before he could reach her, another figure gently caught her by the waist. The moment she was lifted, her grotesque half-face appeared, startling everyone around.

The woman who always hid her face… was actually this ugly?

“You foolish girl.” Luo Mingyu’s hand touched her small head. “Even risking your life to save others?” He smiled faintly, lifting her and walking toward the ship.

So this little thing wanted to use silver needles to heal him? A clever idea—but his internal injuries couldn’t be solved by needles alone.

“She… how could she be like that?” The boy’s heart raced. He had thought she was like other women, but seeing her scarred face smiling innocently while saving his grandmother completely shattered him.

Unfathomable.

Ling Ruoxi woke from the heat beneath the thick quilt—it felt like being baked in an oven. The cold thing beside her was like an ice block, saving her, and she clung to it, rubbing her small head, restless even in sleep.

Gasping for air, she opened her eyes—only to scream at the enlarged mask above her. “Ghost!”

The ancient patterned mask startled her before she could see clearly. She quickly turned to the person beside her.

“Luo Mingyu, what are you doing in my bed?!” Her heart raced as she threw off the quilt.

In June’s heat, only this man would think of covering her with a thick quilt!

“Are you crazy? It’s so hot, and you cover me with this?” Wiping sweat from her forehead, Ling Ruoxi finally realized—the cold ice earlier… was him?
