Luo Mingyu could only laugh and shake his head helplessly. The silver-white figure flashed and had already moved a kilometer away. “Old thing, I’ll leave this to you!”

“You brat… you really can’t let go of your woman for even a moment,” the Sacred Lynx snorted, staring at Rainchou. It stepped forward slowly. “Submit, or die!”

“Dream on!” Rainchou roared in defiance. Even the Sacred Lynx couldn’t stop him! The massive figure slapped the ocean, then shot upward into the air.

The roaring wind seemed to tear the heavens apart as the black silhouette surged upward. The Sacred Lynx, high above, snorted coldly. Just as Rainchou was about to reach it, the lynx suddenly opened its mouth.

“Ha!” A wave of flames rolled out. Bang! It smashed against Rainchou’s thick body. The giant python writhed in midair, then with a plop, fell back into the sea.

“Ugh… it stinks…”

“…”

“Yo!” A sharp, piercing cry sounded. Just as the beast’s claw was about to strike, the golden bird hiding in Ling Ruoxi’s clothing shot out. Tiny, only palm-sized, yet still able to rival the giant fist!

Fzz! The last big hole split open. Ling Ruoxi’s expression changed sharply as she spun to look at the bird behind her. Wasn’t that the little Wu that had followed her, asking to be taken out?

But this little Wu had just hatched—how could it compare to the beasts that could transform into humans?

The massive fist slammed toward little Wu. Ling Ruoxi felt her heart sink as if something inside shattered. Her killing intent flared.

“Hmph, daring to strike me! You have some nerve!” Before the figure behind could approach, the golden Wu flapped its wings. Its feathers spread magnificently, and even its tiny body expanded to normal bird size.

Multicolored feathers shimmered. Three golden plumes sprouted from its head like a crown. Its black eyes radiated killing intent as it moved forward.

The opposing beasts all recoiled, then knelt on the ground. “We welcome our king’s return!”

“What?” Even Silver Wolf was stunned. This ugly little thing, pink and naked, suddenly sprouted seven-colored feathers. Even the beasts who had taken human form addressed it as king. What exactly was this little creature?

“Hmph. You imprisoned me in the Cold Pool for ten thousand years, kowtowing to Rainchou, nearly letting him kill me. But today, you acknowledge me as king, so I forgive you. Now, follow me to purge the traitors on Death Island!”

Golden light blazed. No longer a mere little bird, the magnificent golden-clad figure now stood, barefoot, appearing only three or four years old, yet possessing an aura no ordinary person could match.

The silver-white figure leaned lightly against the cave entrance, smiling faintly. Looks like no intervention was needed—things were already settled.

Heavy…

The black silhouette sank deeper into the water. In moments, it reverted to human form, naked, moving down into the ocean.

Its unfocused eyes looked at the beasts above. It could only sigh helplessly. In the end, it couldn’t prevent him from emerging. “Sorry, old friend… this round is yours. You lost—to a divine beast, to the Sacred Lynx, to that kid…”

“I want to die? Not so easy! I don’t kill recklessly!” The black figure plunged into the water, paddling its limbs. It bit Rainchou’s arm and dragged him to the surface.

“Cough… cough…” Rainchou’s body was badly burned. Even with the Sacred Lynx’s grip forcing him upward, his injuries were severe.

“Little Loach, use your Dou Qi to heal yourself,” the Sacred Lynx said quietly.

But Rainchou, lying on the water, only let out a faint laugh. “Do you think I can heal with Dou Qi? If I could, my true body wouldn’t be like that.”

“…Were you hurt by the formation, and it’s restricting your Dou Qi?” The lynx was speechless, patting Rainchou lightly with its paw.

Rainchou closed his eyes coldly, refusing to explain, fists clenched tightly.

“Fine. That kid isn’t here, so I’ll make an exception this time.” The Sacred Lynx shook its head and sat on Rainchou’s abdomen. Its long tail flicked. “Kid, don’t open your eyes, or I’ll smack you dead.”

“Humph…” Rainchou responded faintly.

Black light swirled, revealing the silver-white robes of the lynx. Its jade-like fingers pressed on Rainchou’s chest.

“We’re here!” Several figures arrived like lightning.

Even with eyes closed, Rainchou flinched, opening them to look—forgetting the lynx’s warning.

“You brat! Who told you to open your eyes?!” The roar echoed across the ocean, more terrifying than the crashing waves.

The approaching figures froze, staring at the scene.

Rainchou lay naked on the water, like a sacrificial lamb, while the silver-white Sacred Lynx sat atop his abdomen. One hand pressed ambiguously against his chest.

The lynx’s face was childlike, delicate as a scholar, not at all showing its true age. Upon being noticed, its face flushed bright red, like someone had just spoiled a grand performance.

“Uh…” Ling Ruoxi had to admit, her thoughts had wandered.

The lynx, angry, jumped up and pointed at Luo Mingyu. “Brat, this is your fault!”

“Oh, old thing, I didn’t know you’d go this far for a little loach, even taking human form. Don’t worry, I won’t laugh—your human face only looks fifteen,” Luo Mingyu said, trying to contain his laughter, a smirk spreading across his face.

“Rainchou, do you recognize me?” The little three-to-four-year-old Wu stepped forward. Upon closer look, even its human form resembled a miniature Ling Ruoxi, but with a touch more masculinity.

Rainchou closed his eyes, saying nothing. “I know who you are.”

He knew… why he remained so calm. Trembling inside, little Wu stepped forward, coldly. “Then you must know why I’m here. You killed my mother and imprisoned me in the Cold Pool for ten thousand years. I will not let you go!”

“Go ahead,” Rainchou said calmly, as if death were a relief. He lay there, serene, as though waiting for it.

Xiao Wu’s dark eyes narrowed. “Think you can die? Not so easy. You trapped me ten thousand years, I’ll torment you for ten million!”

“You little brat, you don’t understand!” The Sacred Lynx spoke.

Xiao Wu’s face twisted in anger. “You… effeminate freak! Get out of my way!”

Even Luo Mingyu, trying not to laugh, twitched at the corner of his mouth. Swiftly, he scooped up little Wu, flames grazing past them, singeing his hair.

“No need to be so harsh; he’s just a newborn,” Luo Mingyu said with a faint smile, knowing Rainchou’s pride was wounded.

The Sacred Lynx leapt, stomping on Rainchou’s stomach several times. “Brat, your elbows stick out too much!”

“Eh? Are your elbows bent inward? Beasts really are different…” Luo Mingyu smiled.

The lynx fumed, wishing it could crush Rainchou outright.

Feeling Rainchou’s pain, Ling Ruoxi frowned, instinctively moving toward him. “Does it hurt?” She pressed her hand to his pulse. The intense heartbeat and heat shocked her—snake bodies are usually cold, yet now, his skin was being destroyed by fire, and…

Rainchou slowly opened his eyes, clutching Ling Ruoxi’s wrist with all his strength. “You… are the heir of the Poison Scripture!”

“What?” Ling Ruoxi blinked, confused.

Laughing maniacally, Rainchou pushed the lynx aside and held Ling Ruoxi’s hands tightly. “You are… you are it. I’ve finally found you, my master!”

“What?” Ling Ruoxi’s jaw dropped. The man before her, who had been shouting and fighting moments ago, now called her master?

“Master, Rainchou has waited ten thousand years for you,” he said, kneeling.

Ling Ruoxi froze. A cold, stern man kneeling naked before her…

“Hey! Pay attention! This is my wife—at least put some clothes on!” Luo Mingyu exclaimed, pulling her back.

Ling Ruoxi remained silent; as a medical alchemist, she was used to such scenes. Besides, Rainchou wasn’t someone she was attracted to.

“Very well.” Rainchou donned black robes that appeared around him. He looked at Ling Ruoxi and bowed. “Since my master has returned, please heal little Wu.”

“Xiao Wu?” Ling Ruoxi glanced at Luo Mingyu’s arms, puzzled. Weren’t these two enemies?

Even little Wu frowned, watching Rainchou coldly. “Hmph, I don’t trust your fake kindness. He’s a villain—he killed my mother and almost ate me. Don’t fall for him, mother.”
