Zhang Ran brought the whole family to a shopping mall.
Waiting for them at the entrance were Meng Mingxuan and Ning Qing.
“Uncle Zhang!”
The two greeted him with smiles.
Zhang Ran said, “Sorry to trouble you both today.”
Meng Mingxuan quickly replied, “Uncle Zhang, you’re being too polite. It’s no trouble at all.”
Ning Qing laughed as well.
“Exactly! Besides, I finally get to indulge in a shopping spree—and I don’t even have to spend my own money.”
She then turned toward Zhang Sicheng and the others.
“Brother Sicheng, Sister-in-law, we meet again.”
“You must be Sister Siyan.”
“You’re so beautiful.”
“Hello, I’m Ning Qing. You can call me Qingqing or Xiao Qing.”
In truth, Ning Qing didn’t know who was actually older.
But since both Zhang Sicheng and Zhang Siyan already had children, calling them “Brother” and “Sister” felt natural enough.
Although Zhang Siyan still had no idea what was happening and had never met Ning Qing before, she couldn’t very well ignore someone who was being so warm and friendly.
“Hello… nice to meet you.”
When Zhang Sicheng and Liu Lu saw Ning Qing, they both froze for a moment.
Then they subconsciously glanced nervously at Zhang Ran.
Seeing that his expression remained perfectly calm, they secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
Meng Mingxuan led everyone toward the men’s clothing section.
This was the luxury fashion floor.
Every brand here was high-end, and none of the prices were cheap.
Zhang Ran turned to Meng Mingxuan and Ning Qing.
“I’ll have to trouble you two to help Sicheng pick out some clothes.”
“Use the criteria I told you before.”
Zhang Ran himself knew almost nothing about fashion.
That’s why he’d specifically invited the two of them to help.
Just as Zhang Sicheng was about to ask something, Zhang Ran shook his head slightly.
Remembering what his father had said that morning, Zhang Sicheng swallowed his question and obediently followed Meng Mingxuan and Ning Qing, though he looked rather uncomfortable.
“Liu Lu, help pick out some casual outfits too,” Zhang Ran said.
“Huh?… Oh… okay.”
Liu Lu only snapped out of her daze after a moment.
But the instant she saw the price tags…
She didn’t know where to put her hands.
She had never bought clothing this expensive before.
Meanwhile, Zhang Sicheng had become a human mannequin.
Under Meng Mingxuan’s and Ning Qing’s directions, he continuously changed into one outfit after another.
“Wow! Daddy looks so handsome!”
Little Taotao squatted nearby and enthusiastically applauded.
Susu nodded seriously in agreement.
The saying was indeed true:
Fine clothes make the man.
Once Zhang Sicheng changed into the tailored outfits…
He genuinely looked much more refined and handsome.
An hour later…
Zhang Sicheng stood there blankly, holding over a dozen shopping bags while watching Zhang Ran calmly pay the bill and walk away.
Every bag contained formal attire.
As for the casual clothes Zhang Ran had asked Liu Lu to choose…
She ultimately hadn’t dared to take any.
The prices were simply beyond anything she could accept.
A single outfit cost tens of thousands of yuan.
Some even exceeded a hundred thousand.
To Liu Lu…
That was completely unimaginable.
“Sir, your total comes to 1.03 million yuan.”
“Here’s your card.”
“We look forward to serving you again.”
The store manager personally returned Zhang Ran’s bank card with both hands.
His eyes practically sparkled.
Anyone who spent over a million yuan on clothes without blinking…
Was unquestionably an extraordinarily wealthy customer.
“Dad… this…”
Zhang Sicheng finally couldn’t hold it in anymore.
He wanted to ask what was going on.
But Zhang Ran cut him off immediately.
“Remember what I said this morning.”
“Today, you just watch.”
“I’ll explain everything tonight.”
Liu Lu’s heart was pounding.
She had never once coveted Zhang Ran’s money.
But watching over a million yuan disappear in an instant…
Still made her heart ache.
Zhang Siyan felt much the same.
Fortunately, Zhang Ran had already earned a certain degree of trust through everything he’d done recently.
So she forced herself not to ask.
Soon enough…
Both Liu Lu and Zhang Siyan became numb.
Next came a luxury shoe store.
Then a watch boutique.
Five or six pairs of shoes…
Nearly 300,000 yuan.
One wristwatch…
700,000 yuan.
In less than two hours…
They had watched Zhang Ran spend over 2 million yuan—
All on Zhang Sicheng alone.
“Alright.”
“Sicheng’s shopping is finished for today.”
“Now it’s Liu Lu’s and Siyan’s turn.”
“Go pick out some clothes and handbags.”
Zhang Ran stretched lazily.
The two women both froze.
They were buying things too?
And judging by Zhang Ran’s tone…
It seemed he intended to buy luxury brands for them as well.
“I really don’t need any.”
“I already have clothes and handbags.”
“Really.”
Liu Lu hurriedly refused.
She would be lying if she said she wasn’t tempted.
But with prices like these…
She simply couldn’t bear the thought.
Just imagining herself wearing clothes and shoes worth tens of thousands of yuan made her feel uncomfortable.
Zhang Siyan was about to object as well.
But Zhang Ran interrupted.
“Just buy them first.”
“If you really don’t like them, that’s fine.”
“You can always leave them at home.”
Both women were speechless.
Buying luxury clothes…
Just to leave them sitting at home?
“Oh, right.”
“Siyan.”
“Buy two handbags for Xiao Li while you’re at it.”
“She’s helped you so much over the years.”
“It’s about time you gave her a proper gift.”
Zhang Ran added.
Zhang Siyan nodded blankly.
She still hadn’t completely processed everything that was happening.
Before she could think any further…
Ning Qing had already pulled her away to look at clothes and handbags.
At this point, Meng Mingxuan was no longer useful.
He knew a little about men’s fashion.
Women’s fashion…
Not at all.
“Brother Sicheng, let me carry some of those.”
Seeing Zhang Sicheng overloaded with shopping bags, Meng Mingxuan hurried over to help.
The two had gradually become quite familiar with one another.
Recently they’d even chatted online from time to time.
So Zhang Sicheng didn’t refuse.
He looked at Meng Mingxuan as though he wanted to ask something.
Meng Mingxuan immediately raised both hands.
“Brother Sicheng…”
“Don’t ask me.”
“I don’t know anything.”
Seeing his reaction, Zhang Sicheng gave up.
He might as well wait until tonight.
While Zhang Siyan and Liu Lu shopped, Zhang Ran and the others waited outside.
The women came out of the first boutique…
Without buying anything.
The second…
Still nothing.
The third…
Nothing.
It wasn’t until they’d visited five stores that Zhang Ran finally couldn’t hold back anymore.
“Liu Lu.”
“Siyan.”
“Don’t you like any of these clothes?”
Liu Lu instinctively shook her head…
Then hurriedly nodded.
It wasn’t that she disliked them.
She simply couldn’t bring herself to spend that kind of money.
Zhang Ran finally understood.
He turned to Ning Qing.
“Qingqing.”
“From now on, just choose whatever you think suits them.”
Ning Qing nodded confidently.
“Got it, Uncle Zhang.”
Shopping immediately became much more efficient.
Though…
Compared to shopping for Zhang Sicheng, it was still painfully slow.
Around noon, they grabbed a quick meal inside the mall.
Even after lunch…
The shopping bags in Zhang Siyan’s and Liu Lu’s hands were still relatively few.
As they continued walking, they eventually reached the storefront rented by Zhang Siyan and Qian Li.
Their neighboring shop owner, Sister Liu, spotted them.
“Siyan!”
“Long time no see.”
“Are you here to check on the shop today?”
