Su Ruo was already agitated and unsettled. The sudden loud bang of the door closing made her jump, and she whipped her head around.

Sure enough—it was Hong Shirong.

Seeing the cruel and vicious expression on his face, then glancing at the bottle in his hand, a wave of unease surged in Su Ruo’s heart.

“What are you trying to do?”

“What am I trying to do? You’ll find out soon enough,” Hong Shirong sneered, casting a sideways glance at her pale face.

“Don’t come any closer! If you dare hurt me even a little, I swear you’ll regret it!” Su Ruo was in full-blown panic now, her face drained of color.

“Hurt you? You’ll be enjoying it in a moment.” Hong Shirong’s smile was all menace now.

Even if Su Ruo were slow-witted, she could guess what was in that bottle. She backed away two steps in fright. “You’ll regret this! If it’s money you want, I can pay! Just put that thing down… The Xi family and the Su family won’t let you off!”

But Hong Shirong wasn’t listening. He sneered, “We’re already here. Do you really think I’ll let you go? Don’t waste your breath. Nothing you say matters now.”

Su Ruo could only watch helplessly as Hong Shirong drew closer. Despair and regret churned in her chest; her thoughts were a chaotic mess.

Just as he reached her, she suddenly shoved him hard. He stumbled, and in that moment, Su Ruo bolted for the door.

With two long strides, he caught up and grabbed her by the hair, yanking her back with a cruel smirk. “Where do you think you’re going? You’ll be begging me soon enough—so drop the act!”

With her hair firmly clutched, Su Ruo couldn’t move. Unwilling to give in, she kicked out and pounded at him with both fists.

Don’t be fooled by her delicate appearance—when she fought back, it actually hurt. Enraged, Hong Shirong yanked her hair even harder, forcing her head back.

Ignoring the hatred in her eyes, he raised the spray bottle in his right hand and ruthlessly pressed it down over her face.

Su Ruo inevitably inhaled a good amount. Just as she struggled to escape his grip, he released her hair only to seize her jaw, forcing her mouth open.

She resisted with clenched teeth, refusing to comply. But Hong Shirong used brute force to pry open a small gap and jammed the nozzle between her lips, pressing it down with force.

With both her nose and mouth exposed to the drug, Su Ruo ended up inhaling quite a bit. Only then did Hong Shirong let go, watching coldly as she slumped down and clawed at her mouth, desperately trying to vomit it out.

“It’s no use. Stop wasting your energy.”

Ignoring her struggle, Hong Shirong walked leisurely to the sofa, sat down, and said slowly, “Just sit tight.”

Su Ruo dry-heaved for a while but couldn’t expel anything. Slumping to the ground, she looked up at him with eyes filled with hatred sharp enough to pierce.

“If anything happens to me today, you’ll never see a peaceful end.”

Her voice carried such chilling venom that it startled Hong Shirong for a moment—but he quickly laughed it off. “You think you have that kind of power? You’re just a woman who’s been defiled. Do you think Su Heng will still stand up for you? Better just enjoy what’s coming.”

The drug was potent. It didn’t take long before Su Ruo felt something wrong—an unbearable heat spreading through her limbs and bones, her cheeks flushed and burning.

Hong Shirong watched with interest as she clenched her teeth to endure, her blushing cheeks adding to her allure. Just watching her made him feel hot himself.

Su Ruo fought against the unbearable heat rolling through her, especially the strange sensations below. Hatred filled her heart—she wished she could tear Hong Shirong limb from limb. If he succeeded tonight, how would she ever face the world again? How could she face… Xi Yuechen?

She trembled with fear and resentment, holding back tears as she propped her weakening body up with her arms. Her fingers dug into the carpet with painful force. Commander… please come save me…

Seeing that the drug had fully taken effect, Hong Shirong finally stopped holding back. He stood and walked over to her, crouching down and lifting a strand of her black hair to his nose, inhaling deeply.

“Mmm… smells even better than I imagined. Looks like it’s time we hit the bed, don’t you think?” he said, twirling her hair around his fingers, smirking.

Looking at his disgusting face, Su Ruo felt sick to her stomach. She spat at him, glaring with hatred.

“Tsk tsk. I like a girl with fire—but too much of it just makes things difficult. You didn’t have to suffer like this, you know.”

As he reached out to grab her, Su Ruo, unable to dodge and unwilling to yield, glanced around frantically in panic.

Suddenly, her eyes lit up. Not far away lay the shards from a broken glass. She quickly grabbed a few and drove them toward his wrist.

“Ahh! Bitch!” he screamed. Caught off guard, the shards stabbed deep into his wrist, and blood gushed out instantly.

Enraged, he slapped her hard across the face. The sound echoed loudly, and a red handprint quickly bloomed on her cheek, smeared with his blood.

The slap hurt like hell, but it also jolted her into clarity. Ignoring his wound, she seized another shard and stabbed it into her own palm—she was terrified of losing control to the drug again.

Hong Shirong was both furious and shocked. This woman is vicious!

He raised his hand again to strike, but Su Ruo turned to him and sneered coldly, “If you want more injuries, go ahead and hit me.”

Her tone was deadly serious. Hong Shirong glanced at her bleeding hand—it was a mess, but he knew there was definitely glass in it.

He hesitated, then slowly lowered his hand, his face dark as a storm. His own wound was deep, blood still pouring out. Not daring to delay, he stood and clutched it tightly, heading for the door. Before leaving, he turned and spat, “Ungrateful bitch. You think I’m someone you can defy? Just wait.”

His menacing words made Su Ruo shudder uncontrollably. This couldn’t go on. Once he treated his wound, he’d be back—and he wouldn’t show mercy.

She didn’t know when the commander and the others would come, but until then, she had to survive.

Somehow, she just knew—he must know she’s gone. He would come. She just had to hold out until then.

Her body burned with unnatural heat, and Hong Shirong’s looming threat made her heart sink.

She could only rely on herself now. She had to endure. Everything she was suffering now—one day, she would pay back in full. She could only pray that Su Heng and the commander would find her soon…
