Today was Duan Wei’s wedding. After all the twists and turns, she and Lu Yue had finally come together.
While helping Xi put on his clothes, Su Ruo couldn’t help but feel a bit emotional. At last, two people in love had become a family. After all this time, just watching made her nearly lose her patience—she almost wanted to force them to tie the knot. But they, of course, were leisurely and unhurried.
“Look at this—my son is almost three years old, and you two are only now getting married. This pace is way too slow!”
Su Ruo had been unusually excited since last night, pacing around the room. She would gush about Duan Wei and Lu Yue, then pull open the wardrobe to pick out clothes for tomorrow, then check with Xi Yuechen whether all the things they needed were ready. She chattered incessantly, refusing to go to bed. Eventually, it got so late that Xi Yuechen, having had enough, got up, walked over to her, grabbed her, threw her onto the bed, and snapped the light off.
And so, whether she wanted to sleep or not, Su Ruo had no choice but to.
“Domineering! Infuriating! Brute! Bastard!…”
Even as she cursed Xi Yuechen silently in her mind, she knew it was all just his violent way of showing care.
By morning, Su Ruo woke up on her own without him calling her. Her eyes were bright and clear, with none of the just-awoken grogginess.
Xi Yuechen had only just woken and hadn’t gotten out of bed yet when he saw the little woman who had been curled up in his arms suddenly open her eyes and roll over to sit up.
“Chief, why are you still sleeping?”
Sitting up, Su Ruo glanced around, then turned to look at Xi Yuechen, still lying in bed, with a face full of disdain.
Xi Yuechen smiled faintly, too lazy to argue, but then Su Ruo’s next words made him pause.
“You weren’t like this before. At the crack of dawn, you’d disappear without a trace. But look at you now—learning to laze in bed. Let me think… is it because being chief for so long has made you slack, or… because you’re getting old and can’t keep up anymore?”
The words hit Xi Yuechen like a thunderclap. His half-raised body nearly collapsed back onto the bed.
He took several deep breaths, his palms trembling slightly, unsure whether to open his hands or clench them. His usually ice-sculpted face displayed a complex mix of emotions—angry, dark, and almost sulky. Su Ruo’s heart skipped a beat at the sight.
“You’re saying I’m old?”
Xi Yuechen’s words came out through gritted teeth, full of an inexplicable menace. His eyes narrowed slightly, full of irritation.
He never imagined that one day Su Ruo would complain he was getting old. It was a huge blow. He had always been mindful of the age gap between them—he was getting older, while Su Ruo was still just a young girl.
For a while, that concern had faded in the midst of their happy life, and he almost forgot about it… until now. And now, she brought it up in a tone of disdain. His pride and self-esteem immediately sank.
The little woman thought he was old.
Xi Yuechen’s mind kept repeating that phrase, a prickly, uncomfortable feeling welling up inside, yet he couldn’t vent his frustration. Though her words were unsatisfactory to him, they were still the truth. So the mighty and domineering Xi Yuechen could only glare at Su Ruo with pure frustration, expressing his boundless displeasure and… just a hint of disappointment.
Su Ruo found his expression amusing. Could it be that this man was upset about being called old? From the way his face was sulking, she noticed a hint of concealed charm behind his grumpiness.
Her initial surprise gave way to full interest. Seeing Xi Yuechen unhappy, she didn’t hold back; instead, she teasingly continued.
Seeing Xi Yuechen, usually so formidable, being flustered was such a rare and satisfying sight. Who else could witness this? No one but her.
So, driven by vanity and curiosity, Su Ruo continued to provoke.
Seeing him half-propped up, his face dark, she smiled brightly and flopped onto him. Luckily, Xi Yuechen had good control; otherwise, her sudden pounce could have toppled him. He remained steady, silently watching her antics with a gloomy expression.
Su Ruo lay on him, wrapping her arms around his neck, raising an eyebrow and speaking softly:
“Otherwise… time waits for no one, you know. You’d better be careful. If you get old and can’t walk properly, I’ll just have to push you around in a wheelchair for walks every morning.”
As she spoke, she imagined what an old Xi Yuechen would look like—and the idea of taking him for daily morning walks seemed rather nice.
But Su Ruo, ever boastful, didn’t consider that with her laziness and limited stamina, she might age faster than Xi Yuechen. At this rate, when they both get older, she might be frail enough that he’d be the one pushing her.
Lost in her daydreams, Su Ruo didn’t notice the change in Xi Yuechen’s expression, happily reveling in her imagined scenario.
Xi Yuechen, however, was almost laughing from anger. The momentary disappointment he felt earlier had vanished the instant she called him old, leaving only helplessness and irritation—he wanted to grab her and give her a good spanking.
In fact, he didn’t hold back. Su Ruo was right there on him, so there was no need to pull her closer. Seeing her self-satisfied little expression, a dark light flashed in his narrowed eyes.
Then, as Su Ruo was still indulging in her fantasy, the world spun, and suddenly she was flipped from lying on his chest to landing across his lap. The speed was so fast she didn’t even have time to adjust her delighted expression. Before she could react, a firm hand landed on her buttocks.
At first, she didn’t realize what had happened. Her eyes widened, mouth slightly open, stunned, unable to quickly accept the sudden turn of events.
But Xi Yuechen didn’t wait for her to process it. One hand on her waist, the other struck her buttocks again, making a loud smack in the quiet bedroom.
Su Ruo froze for two seconds before her face flushed bright red, her brows furrowing. Finally, she realized—she had been spanked.
She, a woman in her twenties, already a mother, had just been spanked—and not just once!
