QTIMP -Chapter 194 Character Persona – Overachiever (Part 26)

Quick Transmigration: I Must Maintain My Persona 6 min read 194 of 246 16

Hearing his words, Si Qiu couldn’t help but feel a little indignant on behalf of the original host. The original owner had clashed with the old residence more than once before. Forget about him stepping in to resolve it—simply ignoring it would’ve already been considered good.

But whenever he did get involved, it always ended with forcing the original host to go over and apologize.

What did that prove? It proved that Tang Chaoyun was fully capable of handling the conflict between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law. He simply hadn’t wanted to bother with it before.

Si Qiu found it almost laughable. Men always wanted a woman who was wholeheartedly devoted to them, but once they got one, they would start to feel that such a woman was worthless.

And then, as if it were only natural, they would end up disappointing her.

It really echoed that saying online—good women get praise, bad women get everything. Were women born “bad” to begin with? Not at all. It was just that men narrowed all their paths.

The next morning, photos of a family of three going shopping began circulating wildly online. Very quickly, they suppressed the earlier rumors of Tang Chaoyun cheating on Si Qiu, her miscarriage, and the couple being on the verge of divorce.

Correspondingly, the pressure targeting Si Qiu’s company eased significantly.

The song was successfully released, the web drama was successfully launched, and various managed accounts saw their traffic steadily rise. On top of that, there was the setup and relocation of the new office.

After sending Tang Che to kindergarten, Si Qiu arrived at the company. Just as she entered, Xu Tingting came over holding a stack of documents.

“Sister Si, the new office renovation has already started. Sister Wu is personally overseeing it. She asked you to keep an eye on the short drama and song charting.”

Si Qiu took the documents, flipped through them, and signed. “Alright. How are those accounts we discussed before doing?”

“I was just about to report that. The accounts are all performing very well, and advertisers have already started reaching out for collaborations.”

“And also, we’re clearly short-staffed now. This is HR’s list of positions to recruit for—especially that film script you provided.”

Xu Tingting handed her another document.

“Make sure to carefully review all advertising products. It wasn’t easy building up these accounts—don’t ruin them with bad products.”

Si Qiu glanced through HR’s list and signed it. “I’ve already finalized a partner company for the film. As for the rest, just hire as needed. Constant overtime isn’t good for anyone’s health.”

“You do realize that too?” Xu Tingting said as she took the documents and left. “Maybe you should think about yourself when you say that.”

Si Qiu took a sip of the water Xu Tingting had brought her and continued working. By midday, she hadn’t even had time to go to the restroom, let alone lift her head.

Although Tang Chaoyun was also busy, the Tang Group was already running steadily, so he didn’t need to micromanage everything. At noon, he even brought over a privately ordered meal.

He came to Si Qiu’s company to deliver lunch.

Everyone in the company was quite surprised. After all, human curiosity about gossip is instinctive—and when it comes to their boss, they were even more thorough.

So they already knew exactly who her current husband was just by searching online.

“President Tang, hello. President Si is still busy right now. I’ll take you to the lounge.”

Xu Tingting led him toward the lounge, while on the way she shot warning glances at a few employees who were practically drooling over his looks.

The girls quickly shrank behind their desks pretending to behave, then exchanged amused looks and giggled. They weren’t really coveting anything—just appreciating his appearance.

When Si Qiu received Xu Tingting’s message, she frowned and muttered under her breath:

“So he’s starting the ‘virtuous husband and caring father’ route now.”

She said that, but since he was already here, she naturally couldn’t just leave him hanging. Besides, it was indeed lunchtime.

When she arrived at the lounge, she saw that the food had already been set out. “Why did you suddenly come to deliver lunch? Is something wrong with Che’er?”

Even while eating, her eyes never left the screen. She quickly filled her stomach and went straight back to work.

Tang Chaoyun placed his hand over her phone, a warm yet helpless smile on his lips as he tried to persuade her. “Don’t work while you’re eating. Finish first, then get back to it.”

“Otherwise it’s bad for your stomach. It can easily lead to gastric problems.”

Si Qiu glanced at him, then lowered her head and continued eating without a word.

It wasn’t agreement with him—it felt more like she disdained explaining anything to him, completely excluding him from her work life.

That feeling made Tang Chaoyun very uncomfortable, yet at the same time, a strong sense of familiarity surged up in him.

In an exquisite Mid-Autumn dining restaurant, a woman with a warm, gentle smile placed a bowl of soup in front of him.

Then she said softly, “Chaoyun, don’t be so busy. Eat first, then get back to work. If you don’t focus on eating, you’ll easily get stomach problems.”

He didn’t feel moved at all upon hearing this. Instead, he only felt an overwhelming irritation at being interrupted. So he put down the documents in his hands and began eating in silence.

He had no interest in the woman’s reminders, nor did he want to listen to her sharing her daily life. He just wanted to finish eating quickly and return to his work.

Tang Chaoyun’s gaze fell on Si Qiu, who was quietly eating, and a voice inside him questioned: “Look at you—you got what you deserved, didn’t you?”

After finishing the meal in silence, before leaving, Tang Chaoyun mentioned something.

“Mom went on a world trip with the housekeeper. She won’t be back for a while.”

Si Qiu leaned against the sofa, a mocking smile openly appearing on her face. Tang Chaoyun naturally understood what she meant, and his throat turned slightly bitter.

He left awkwardly, only saying, “I’ll go now.”

At night, Si Qiu still had to leave work on time. She needed to wait until Tang Che adapted a little more.

Otherwise, bringing the child over but neglecting him would be irresponsible.

But she could continue working after dinner.

Her sleep time was compressed to about four hours. If not for the tonic herbal soups prepared by Butler Song, she might have already broken down.

Tang Chaoyun seemed to have some kind of serious illness. Even after suffering so many setbacks with Si Qiu, he did not return to his previous indifferent track—instead, he further seeped into her life.

Lunch was still delivered. He waited in the car when she was attending social engagements. He arranged weekend parent-child activities, determined to turn this household into a warm family of three.

A soft melody rang from her phone. Si Qiu pressed her temple and answered the call.

“Hello? Qiuqiu, about that friend gathering I mentioned before?”

Even Tang Chaoyun himself didn’t realize how cautious he sounded when he asked.

Si Qiu first looked at her wristwatch. “What time? I’ll drive over.”

“No need. I’m already downstairs at your company. I’ll take you there. Tomorrow morning I’ll also bring you to work. I won’t delay you.”

“Alright, wait for me fifteen minutes.”

Si Qiu went to the lounge, changed into a black strappy long dress, and threw on an apricot-colored knit shirt over it. It outlined her figure while carrying a relaxed, effortless feel.

She picked up her handbag, packed her phone and keys, and took the elevator straight downstairs.
