PCJ – Chapter 723 Violent Disassembly

Excluding the two special administrative regions, every one of the thirty-some provincial capitals on the mainland was stocked with 2,000 new energy vehicles, while mega-cities like the Capital and the Magic City had reserves of over 10,000 vehicles each. Originally, it was thought that with these stockpiles, supply could last at least two weeks.

But unexpectedly, by the second day—except for a few provinces—nearly every province had already sold more than half of its allocated stock on the very first day. Even Bijiang City, just a prefecture-level city and economically underdeveloped, managed to sell nearly 4,000 cars on day one. Nationwide, total sales reached a staggering 40,000 vehicles on the first day alone. That kind of number would drive any car manufacturer crazy.

Meishan Group was a newcomer to the auto industry, but its debut was stunning. The results, however, were predictable—after all, Meishan’s new energy car was pure black technology. A vehicle that didn’t require fuel was an irresistible temptation to anyone.

Inside a research institute belonging to a major automaker, a brand-new Meishan new energy car was on display. Heizmann stood anxiously nearby as the institute’s engineers attempted to disassemble the vehicle.

“No way to take it apart. This car is a complete whole—there are no seams at all. We simply can’t dismantle it. The entire structure is transparent, and we can’t even tell which part is the core system. In this situation, how can we disassemble it? This is a miracle, a true miracle!” Chief engineer Aldrich couldn’t help but marvel.

“Mr. Aldrich, I don’t need to hear your praise for the car. I want to know—what can we get from it?” Heizmann said irritably.

Aldrich shook his head helplessly. “With all due respect, Mr. Heizmann, I don’t think we can gain anything from this car. The technology is beyond our understanding. Frankly, I fear that from now on, this world may only have one car manufacturer. In terms of both materials and technology, this is completely outside our grasp.”

“Meishan Group is just a company of a few years, and they developed this in such a short time. We’ve had over a century of development, why can’t we do the same? Tear it apart—shred it into pieces!” Heizmann barked.

Since normal disassembly was impossible, they could only attempt violent disassembly. But as soon as the technicians tried, the car suddenly started itself.

“Detected attempt to damage vehicle. Please confirm with owner, otherwise an alarm will be raised. Confirmation will be reported to the New Energy Vehicle Information System,” the intelligent system announced.

Aldrich hurried to provide confirmation.

“Owner information confirmed. Data uploaded. Warning: Meishan New Energy Vehicles strictly prohibit disassembly. For any quality issues, please return the vehicle to an official service center. All disassembly is considered a violation of the purchase agreement. Any damage caused by forced disassembly will be the full responsibility of the owner. Meishan Group reserves the right to pursue legal action,” the system warned again.

“What now, sir?” Aldrich asked.

“What purchase agreement?” Heizmann frowned.

“I did hear sales staff mention it at the dealership. I didn’t pay much attention. Let me check the contract.” Aldrich quickly pulled it out, skimmed it, and his expression turned odd. Sure enough, the contract included such a clause: any vehicle faults must be repaired free of charge at a 4S shop. Once scrapped, the vehicle must be recycled by the company. Users were forbidden from self-repair or disassembly. Otherwise, it would be considered theft of new energy technology, and Meishan had the right to pursue responsibility.

“This is a tyrannical clause! They have no right to do this!” Heizmann roared.

“Should we keep dismantling?” Aldrich asked.

“Of course! Block the signals—I don’t believe without signals it can send anything back to them. Then how will Meishan hold us responsible?” Heizmann sneered.

As they resumed disassembly, the intelligent system repeatedly warned:

“Violent disassembly detected. Suspected theft of Meishan Group’s technical secrets. Your actions have been recorded and uploaded to Meishan’s Remote Information Control Center. You are under surveillance. Forced disassembly will trigger automatic system collapse. The energy system will initiate self-destruct. Cease illegal activity immediately!”

After destroying several sets of equipment, Aldrich and his assistants finally managed to cut a small opening. At that moment, the system issued its final warning:

“If forced disassembly continues, in 10 seconds the system will enter self-destruct. In 30 seconds, the energy and power systems will shut down. In 60 seconds, the entire vehicle will be destroyed. Evidence successfully uploaded.”

Those last six words worried Aldrich most: “Evidence successfully uploaded.”

“Boss, why did it say that? Could it really have uploaded evidence?”

“That’s just a scare tactic. Relax. All signals are blocked, the network is physically cut. There’s no way anything was transmitted. Keep dismantling,” Heizmann ordered.

As Aldrich’s cutter touched the car again, all the vehicle’s flashing lights suddenly went dark. The car turned black and opaque.

“Boss, it looks like the system really did self-destruct,” Aldrich said.

“No matter. Keep going! If it really destroyed itself, then we’ve got a case—we can sue Meishan and ruin their reputation!” Heizmann grinned.

But before Aldrich could continue, the entire vehicle suddenly collapsed into a sticky, glue-like mass, fused to the ground.

“Wh—what is this?” Aldrich stared in shock.

Heizmann, on the other hand, was delighted: “Aldrich, you’re now officially a Meishan customer. Time to hire the best lawyer you can find.”

Less than a week after launch, before Meishan Group could even sober up from its stunning sales results, a subpoena from a court in Donghai had already arrived at headquarters.

“What do we do? This case will definitely affect our sales,” Ji Jiaxin said worriedly.

“What are you afraid of? Handle it exactly as planned! Doesn’t our Remote Information Control Center have complete evidence? We won’t just defend—we’ll counter-sue! Otherwise, they’ll think our sales terms are just a joke.”
