PCJ – Chapter 719 Is This Real?

The launch event for Meishan New Energy Vehicles was arranged at the showroom of Meishan Auto Sales & Service Center in Biyun New Energy Vehicle City. This time, Meishan directly showcased several models—supercar, off-road, urban SUV, convertible, business vehicle, and sedan. There was no hatchback, because Meishan New Energy Vehicles didn’t need to worry too much about fuel consumption. Hatchbacks weren’t even in their consideration. For Meishan, the only priorities were safety and comfort.

The entire car body was transparent, including the four tires. Its color could be changed at any time—this was the most futuristic feature Meishan presented to the audience. At present, only Meishan had achieved this. Every model broke away from traditional automotive design, with all components seamlessly fused into a single whole.

The journalists attending the launch were stunned the moment they laid eyes on Meishan’s vehicles.

“Wow! Is this Meishan Group’s black technology? Incredible! I have to get one of these!” exclaimed Lin Ke, a reporter from Southern Times.

Her colleague, Qian Zhitao, nodded repeatedly: “Absolutely. No matter how expensive it is, it’s worth it. Driving this will turn heads everywhere. And look here—this car has virtually unlimited range! It’s not a pure electric vehicle, but a brand-new energy system! Just refill with water to maintain unlimited range, and only replace the nutrient solution once every three years. The battery life is up to ten years! Is this real?”

Lin Ke flipped through the technical brochure distributed on-site and found another shocking feature: “Self-cleaning function? Self-repair function? Is this for real?”

The journalists were all overwhelmed by Meishan’s innovations. For car owners, self-cleaning alone was a dream feature. While car wash costs weren’t much, the hassle was real, and high-end detailing and maintenance could cost a fortune annually. But now there was a car that required no washing and no maintenance—this meant enormous savings.

Of course, the biggest factor was fuel. A car that needed neither refueling nor charging was a dream come true. Everyone wanted a spacious, powerful vehicle, but fuel costs were often prohibitive. Now, with no fuel worries, who wouldn’t be tempted?

Tian Weijun, a reporter from Auto Weekly, asked skeptically: “Does Meishan Group really possess such epoch-making technology?”

Wang Shibin from Autohome raised another question: “If this is real, what kind of price will Meishan set for these cars?”

Lin Ke pulled Qian Zhitao aside: “Quick, find a spot to send this news online. I feel something huge is about to happen!”

Qian was startled. “Huge? You mean Meishan is bluffing?”

“Are you stupid? If Meishan wanted to bluff, they wouldn’t wait until now—they’d have done it long ago. Why pretend at this point? Not all the functions can be verified on-site, but many can be tested right here. I think what they’ve written is real. Meishan has made a major breakthrough in energy. This could reshape the world. That’s what I mean by something big. Hurry and send the report—I’m contacting HQ right now!” Lin Ke’s instincts were sharp, and she realized this was going to be global news. She was sure that once the launch ended, the entire world would be talking about it.

As mayor of Bijiang City, Zhang Jiaohua naturally had to speak first.

“Today, at Biyun New Energy Vehicle City, we showcase a revolutionary product. As we all know, with the rise of the economy, people’s living standards have improved, and cars have become part of everyday life. But the massive increase in cars has placed a heavy burden on the environment. With the launch of Meishan’s new vehicles, this situation will fundamentally change. I wish Meishan New Energy Vehicles great success!” Zhang finished and stepped aside, leaving the stage to Ji Jiaxin.

“Many of you may be wondering after hearing our introduction—is this even possible? Can our cars really achieve all this? Honestly, if I hadn’t experienced it myself, I would have doubted it too. But I can tell you: these features are just the basics. Every one of our cars includes them. And there are even more amazing features, which you’ll only discover after experiencing them yourself,” Ji Jiaxin said as she began her presentation.

As soon as she finished, the media fired off countless questions.

“President Ji, you’ve said a lot, but how can we believe it’s true?” asked Tian Weijun.

“Some functions aren’t easy to demonstrate, but we’ll choose two that can be tested here on-site,” Ji said, pointing to a prepared testing area.

Zhang Yuanbao picked up a hammer and swung it at the car’s body.

Clang!

The hammer struck with a loud crash and bounced back. Many had expected the transparent, glass-like surface to shatter or dent, but the car was completely unharmed.

Looking embarrassed, Zhang Yuanbao said: “Oops, didn’t use enough force.”

The reporters chuckled. The hammer had a sharp tip that could easily shatter tempered glass, yet the car body didn’t have so much as a mark. Clearly, the material was exceptionally strong. But the journalists were really waiting to see the self-repair function.

Zhang swung harder this time.

Bang!

This time, the blow left a dent and visible cracks. Just as everyone sighed regretfully, the car’s body began to slowly restore itself.

“Look! The dent is rising back! It’s repairing itself! The cracks are closing! This is real!” shouted Wang Shibin.

At another test station, Qi Xia dumped a bucket of paint onto the car’s roof. The paint splashed down, covering large areas. For a normal car, this would mean a full repaint.

The Meishan Group’s demo was nerve-racking—first hammering, now pouring paint. It was brutal testing.

But then, the miraculous happened: the paint slid off the car’s surface like water, leaving not a single trace behind.

Someone suspected trick paint, but after touching it, confirmed it was genuine.

Lin Ke seized the chance to ask: “President Ji, has Meishan made a revolutionary breakthrough in energy?”

Ji nodded. “Yes. Our new energy batteries are a major breakthrough. They directly convert bio-energy into kinetic energy, with even higher efficiency than electricity. And in the process, almost no excess heat is generated. The energy conversion rate is far beyond that of traditional fuel vehicles.”

“Who do you think your competitors will be?” Lin Ke asked.

“Human progress in science never stops. I believe greater breakthroughs will come, and then we’ll see new competitors,” Ji replied.

Tian Weijun pressed further: “So you believe no car company in the world today can compete with Meishan’s vehicles?”

“Although our production has already reached thousands of cars per day, compared to the huge global market, it’s still a drop in the ocean. In the short term, our cars can’t replace all fuel vehicles. But our second-phase factory is under construction, and third and fourth phases will follow. Then, our capacity will be able to meet global demand,” Ji explained. The implication was clear: Meishan’s only real competitor was itself. The main obstacle to dominance was production capacity.

Naturally, everyone was most concerned about price. With such advanced technology, the cars had to be astronomically expensive, right?

But when Meishan revealed the pricing, everyone was stunned again.

The basic sedan model started at just 200,000 yuan. For such a high-tech car, the value was astonishing. While still expensive for many households, it was within reach for a significant portion of buyers.

The supercar, however, was less friendly—priced at 10 million yuan, clearly targeting only the ultra-rich. The off-road model cost 2 million yuan, pricier than many imports, meaning it would remain rare on the streets. The urban SUV, at 450,000 yuan, was more accessible and would likely draw wealthy buyers away from luxury brands. The business vehicle was priced at 300,000 yuan, which was considered fairly reasonable.

Meishan’s pricing strategy reflected both the production capacity of the first-phase plant and their desire to position the brand correctly. With the second-phase facility, cheaper models would be introduced to gradually fill the compact car segment.
