“Wu Yuan hesitated for a moment, then gritted his teeth and walked towards the shop that scared him.
“Fatty, I’m going to challenge you!” Wu Yuan muttered to himself, taking heavy steps to the door. He gritted his teeth and suddenly pushed the door open. However, what he saw completely stunned him.
Zhang Jiaohua was still lively and chatting happily with the two people who had frightened Wu Yuan.
“Fatty, you seem to be in the wrong place,” Stone Yan said as he lifted his chin toward Wu Yuan.
“I’m here to find him,” Wu Yuan didn’t dare to meet Stone Yan’s eyes and kept staring at the floor tiles. On the floor, there was an engraving of the yin-yang symbol, and the fish of the yin-yang seemed to come to life, spinning continuously. Wu Yuan suddenly felt dizzy, and everything in the shop began to spin as well. Finally, he saw Zhang Jiaohua standing upside down in front of him. The entire world seemed to flip. The moment Wu Yuan fell to the ground, the only thought in his mind was, “I shouldn’t have come here. Bad guys never change. How could this little troublemaker be in any danger?”
“He came with me,” Zhang Jiaohua quickly stepped forward and helped Wu Yuan up. Although Wu Yuan was heavy, Zhang Jiaohua lifted him as if he were a straw man, effortlessly.
Neither Stone Yan nor Zhang Yichen was surprised.
Stone Yan said apologetically, “Sorry, sorry, I didn’t know he came with you. I thought he was just a curious fellow. In a place like Panjiayuan, with so many people and eyes, if I don’t use a few tricks, I’d be bothered to death every day. I even thought about moving out of here, but then I worried that fellow cultivators wouldn’t be able to find the place. Young brother, would you like me to help him calm down?”
“Boss Stone, you’re really something. Do I really need your help with something this small?” Zhang Yichen sneered.
Zhang Jiaohua smiled, “Thanks, but I’ll handle it myself.”
Zhang Jiaohua just touched Wu Yuan’s forehead with his finger, and a spiritual force immediately entered Wu Yuan’s brain.
Wu Yuan immediately opened his eyes, “What happened to me?”
He had completely forgotten what had just occurred.
“Nothing, you just tripped when you came in and bumped your head. Fortunately, it’s nothing serious,” Zhang Jiaohua said. His opinion of Wu Yuan improved quite a bit. He understood why Wu Yuan had barged in. Despite his many flaws—timid, greedy, lazy, and full of faults—Wu Yuan’s nature was actually quite good.
“Are you okay? I’ve been waiting for you outside for a long time and didn’t see you come out, so I came in to check. But I can’t remember what happened next,” Wu Yuan scratched his head, feeling like he’d forgotten something important.
“Forget it. If you can’t remember, don’t think about it. It wasn’t anything important… You didn’t lose any money, right?” Zhang Jiaohua asked.
Wu Yuan shook his head, “Definitely not. I don’t even have a single cent in my pocket. If you come to Panjiayuan, even if you have money, it’ll disappear.”
His comment made Stone Yan and Zhang Yichen chuckle.
“Your friend is quite interesting,” Zhang Yichen laughed.
Zhang Jiaohua nodded, “Alright, I’ll be leaving now.”
“Alright, come by when you have time. Zhang Daochang comes here often,” Stone Yan said.
“Boss Stone, don’t lie to him. I don’t have time to come by often,” Zhang Yichen immediately exposed Stone Yan’s lie.
After leaving the mysterious shop, Wu Yuan sized up Zhang Jiaohua, “Are you really okay?”
“I’m fine,” Zhang Jiaohua shook his head helplessly.
“Why did you buy all this stuff?” Wu Yuan flipped through the items Zhang Jiaohua had bought.
“Don’t mess with it, I actually need these things,” Zhang Jiaohua quickly said.
“Didn’t you say you wanted to be a doctor and treat people? Why are you buying these things? Are you planning on performing rituals?” Wu Yuan asked, confused.
“My way of treating illness is a bit different from others. You know a lot of people in Beijing, go ahead and bring me a few patients. The first three are free,” Zhang Jiaohua said.
“You can treat diseases?” Wu Yuan asked suspiciously.
“Anything can be tried. Anyway, I won’t make people worse,” Zhang Jiaohua smiled.
“Then how could I trust you with my friends? You’re too unreliable,” Wu Yuan shook his head repeatedly.
“How reliable are you? Still robbing people in the alleys. By the way, I was confused asking you to find patients for me. No one would listen to someone as unreliable as you. You’ll probably ruin my reputation before I even start,” Zhang Jiaohua scratched his head, feeling a bit regretful.
“Zhang Jiaohua, I’ll tell you the truth. I can get people to come. Although I wasn’t reliable before, go ask around in the alley, have I ever done anything bad to the neighbors?” Wu Yuan said urgently.
“Then bring the people here. Whether it works or not, we’ll know after trying. How about I try it on you first? If I give you a few needles, you might lose a few pounds. Do you believe me?” Zhang Jiaohua said.
Wu Yuan quickly shook his head, “The fat on my body is my only asset. Do you think I would casually lose my wealth?”
“Haha, this is your wealth? This wealth is why you can’t find a wife,” Zhang Jiaohua laughed loudly.
Wu Yuan absolutely refused, eventually telling the real reason. It turned out he had been afraid of needles since he was young, and sometimes he even fainted from them.
As they reached the alley where the wheels were stored, they ran into Zeng Lei. Zeng Lei had his left hand wrapped in bandages and was clearly injured.
“Brother Zeng, what happened? Are you injured? Do you have such dangerous cases at your police station?” Wu Yuan asked with concern.
Zeng Lei’s face reddened, “I ran into someone trying to end it all today. It happened in Shiban Fang Alley. I was on duty there, and when I went to rescue him, I accidentally fell. It’s nothing serious, just a dislocated joint.”
“Be careful, dislocation can become a habit if you’re not careful,” Wu Yuan immediately said.
“What’s the use of being careful? Working at the police station, dislocation can happen at any time. If you trust me, I can help you fix it in minutes,” Zhang Jiaohua said.
“You know medicine?” Zeng Lei asked, surprised.
“A little. Fixing joints and stuff, no problem. A dislocation isn’t a big deal,” Zhang Jiaohua said casually.
“Then…” Zeng Lei was curious to see if Zhang Jiaohua could help.
“Brother Zeng, I think you should listen to the doctors at the hospital. It’ll only take a few days. If he doesn’t do it right, you could be in big trouble. He’s not even a certified doctor,” Wu Yuan quickly interrupted, pulling Zeng Lei aside.
“Whatever. The first three are free anyway. If you trust me, I could probably get that bandage off right now,” Zhang Jiaohua didn’t seem to care. When had the Meishan Water Masters ever begged to treat others?
“Then I’ll give it a try. Fatty, step aside,” Zeng Lei said, really curious now.
