PCJ – Chapter 270 As Swift as a Bamboo Shoot

All the mountain dogs immediately changed formation, with the drilling leopard suddenly appearing at the forefront, becoming a spearhead, followed closely by fifteen adult mountain dogs. All the puppies followed behind these fifteen adult dogs. The entire formation was like a sharp sword, thrusting fiercely into the group of black cats.

Zhang Jiaohua lightly shook the bell in his hand, and several golden tigers flew out. Normally, this kind of battle wasn’t suited for them. The fat cat was evidently skilled in dark arts, and Zhang Jiaohua wasn’t sure if the golden tigers would be harmed. So, after releasing the golden tigers, Zhang Jiaohua only asked them to protect the mountain dog puppies.

Zhang Jiaohua whispered to the golden tigers for a while, and Zhang Wenrong and the others thought Zhang Jiaohua was chanting a spell. If they knew he was talking to the golden tigers, they might have been scared out of their wits.

Relying on the numerical advantage of the black cats, the fat cat wasn’t worried about the aggressive attack of the mountain dogs. With a meow, it ordered all the black cats to advance.

The swarm of black cats surged forward like a black torrent toward the mountain dogs. The black cats were packed tightly together, forming a dark mass. The noise of nearly a thousand feet stamping the ground was very loud. The wild cats were much larger than domestic cats and very strong, creating a sensation of the earth shaking.

Though there were only forty-four mountain dogs, their noise was not less than that of the black cats. Their steps were very coordinated, and each step was powerful. Despite their numerical disadvantage, their momentum was equal to their opponents’.

At night, with dim light, Zhang Wenrong and the others could hardly see the situation clearly. But Zhang Jiaohua could see everything clearly. The two huge groups collided, and it was a contest of strength, whoever had more power would win the clash.

The drilling leopard led the charge, piercing through the cat swarm like an indestructible blade, carving a path through the black cats. The fifteen adult mountain dogs formed a sharp arrowhead and drove directly into the cat swarm.

The seemingly aggressive cat swarm was unable to withstand the powerful mountain dogs, collapsing like a balloon. That’s why these dogs were named “mountain dogs”. They could sweep through their enemies.

The drilling leopard charged straight at the fat cat, tossing any black cat obstructing its path like sandbags.

Initially, the fat cat watched the battle with interest, not believing it would face any danger from behind.

However, it soon realized its mistake as its army of black cats was being swept away.

“Meow!” The fat cat saw the drilling leopard getting closer and finally understood its predicament. It realized this “plague dog” was aiming for a decapitation. Wasn’t it supposed to be a fight between soldiers and generals? Why was it not playing by the rules? It hurriedly summoned a few black cat leaders to protect it.

But in such a chaotic situation, how could its powerful bodyguards appear in time to provide protection? Moreover, the forty-four mountain dogs acted as a cohesive unit. Despite the large number of wild cats, in the close combat areas, the mountain dogs had a distinct advantage. The drilling leopard wasn’t acting alone; all the mountain dogs charged through the cat swarm, heading straight for the fat cat.

“Meow!” The fat cat saw the situation worsening. Even if the black cat leaders returned, they might not be able to fend off such fierce mountain dogs.

Although the fat cat was fat, it was no slower than the mountain dogs when it ran.

It leaped over the fence and, as soon as it escaped the horticultural area, it immediately began to run. However, the drilling leopard was faster. It leaped over the fence and continued to chase, while the adult mountain dogs and puppies each crossed the fence in their own way.

With the fat cat fleeing, the black cat swarm completely disintegrated. Whether ordinary house cats or wild cats, they were inherently at a disadvantage against the mountain dogs. Now that even the fat cat was fleeing, the wild cats followed suit.

The few black cat leaders, unable to manage the wild cats, hurriedly abandoned their subordinates to rescue the fat cat. However, they were blocked by the cat swarm and delayed by the puppies, making it impossible for them to get close to the fat cat.

Without their leaders, the ordinary black cats scattered and fled immediately.

Though the fat cat could run well, it was far outpaced by the drilling leopard. The fat cat’s escape was soon caught up with. There were no trees near the horticultural area; it had to run to the nearby back mountain woods to find some trees, albeit small ones.

Even though the trees were not very tall, the fat cat longed for them. If it could reach the woods, it could climb a tree. No matter how strong the mountain dogs were, they couldn’t climb trees. If it made it to the woods, it could escape the frenzied pursuit.

The drilling leopard wasn’t foolish and had long anticipated the fat cat’s plan. It sped up, overtaking the fat cat and blocking its path.

The fat cat had begun to imagine how it would show its power in the trees. However, it did not anticipate that all its calculations were falling into someone else’s plans.

The fat cat, running so fast that it could barely control itself, ended up practically delivering itself into the drilling leopard’s embrace.

The fat cat hurriedly tried to brake, but its clumsy body rolled like a ball on the ground. It finally managed to stop in front of the drilling leopard, but it was already dazed and confused.

The drilling leopard was momentarily stunned by the fat cat’s performance. The opportunity was so unexpected that the drilling leopard did not react in time.

The fat cat, however, quickly regained its senses, got up, and prepared to continue its escape.

Zhang Benrui, after leaving the horticultural area, still harbored ill intentions. He didn’t rush to find Zhang Genxin or return to the village but instead secretly watched the commotion outside the horticultural area. Seeing Zhang Jiaohua surrounded by so many black cats, he took a perverse pleasure in it.

“Deserved it! Who told them to be so cold-hearted? They even drove me out!” Zhang Benrui felt a grudge.
