MCSCPM -Chapter 370 Trying to Woo the Prince

Mind-Reading Consort with Superpowers: The Cold Prince, Go Easy on Me8 min read370 of 378

People might call Yin Ziyu foolish, but when she had snatched Xiao Chengli before, she had put a lot of thought into it. So calling her not smart would be wrong. However, now, she completely failed to grasp the deeper meaning in Yin Qingyue’s words.

After quietly feeling a bit sad, she said, “Don’t worry, Big Sister. I won’t be upset. It’s just like cutting off a rotten piece from myself—better to remove it early than let it harm the whole body.”

Yin Qingyue’s hand tightened slightly, and her lips parted faintly. “Yes… some things are better removed early, before they cause harm to others in the future.”

“Thank you, Big Sister. I’ll remember what you said. Indeed, coming here wasn’t in vain.”

“Alright, that matter is behind us. Don’t dwell on it anymore.”

“By the way, Big Sister, from now on here, you’ll be my only family, and the only one I can talk to.”

Yin Qingyue said kindly, “Don’t worry. Now that you’ve come to Beihai, Big Sister will take good care of you. You don’t need to worry about anything else. Stay as long as you like.”

“You’re the best, Big Sister,” Yin Ziyu said, throwing herself into Yin Qingyue’s arms and smiling. “If only I could find someone like Prince Jing, that would be perfect.”

There was a subtle meaning behind her words. In the past, Yin Qingyue might not have noticed it, but she was no longer the timid girl she once was.

Yin Ziyu, however, didn’t realize this—she still thought the woman before her was the same naïve girl as before.

Yin Qingyue let out a soft hum; this girl actually hoped to seduce Prince Jing. The thought was utterly delusional.

“Ziyu, you’ll definitely find someone like Prince Jing. You’re so charming, anyone would like you,” Yin Qingyue said.

“Really? Would Prince Jing like me too?” Yin Ziyu excitedly propped herself up and looked at Yin Qingyue, but quickly realized she’d said too much. She hurriedly added, “Big Sister, that’s not what I meant.”

“I know. Don’t worry—you’re my sister. How could Prince Jing not like you?” Yin Qingyue replied with a sisterly demeanor.

Yin Ziyu blushed slightly. “If that’s true, that would be perfect.”

Yin Qingyue inwardly wanted to slap her—she had never seen someone so shameless. This woman had seduced Xiao Chengli, got pregnant twice, and now hoped to get close to Chu Jingcheng. If she were living in modern times, she would’ve been beaten long ago.

“Alright, rest well. I’ll come see you tomorrow.”

“Big Sister—” Yin Ziyu suddenly grabbed her.

Yin Qingyue shrugged her off forcefully, her strength substantial.

Yin Ziyu, startled by the force, froze for a moment and awkwardly said, “Big Sister, it’s been a while… why are you so strong now?”

“That’s because you’re too weak. Alright, it’s late—get some rest.” Yin Qingyue said, then left.

For a while, Yin Ziyu couldn’t make sense of it. She felt that Yin Qingyue seemed different from before. Though she smiled warmly, there seemed to be something hidden beneath that smile, though Yin Ziyu could not fully see it.

That night, Chu Jingcheng couldn’t help but grow angrier as he thought about Xiao Chengli. He wanted nothing more than to tear him apart. Resolving to punish him, he summoned the guards.

“What orders, Prince?” a guard asked.

“Do you know the man who came to the mansion today? Arrest him immediately and take him straight to the military camp.”

“Prince, you want—?”

“Do as I say, but remember, this must be done in secret,” Chu Jingcheng instructed.

The guard nodded. “Yes, I will carry it out.”

After the guard left, he quickly executed Chu Jingcheng’s order. Xiao Chengli was secretly captured and dragged directly to the military camp for imprisonment.

Xiao Chengli hadn’t even understood what was happening before he was inexplicably bound.

“Who are you people?” Xiao Chengli demanded, tied to a wooden frame, looking at the men before him.

They remained expressionless, saying nothing.

Anxious, Xiao Chengli continued, “Whose men are you? What is this place?”

The guards remained silent.

What Xiao Chengli didn’t realize was that Chu Jingcheng was standing outside, coldly observing every move inside.

Beside him, Leng Feng asked, “Prince, how shall we handle this guy?”

“What else can we do? He likes coming to Beihai. Since he’s here, he can’t just leave empty-handed. Give him something to remember.”

“I didn’t know, Your Highness, that you’re this ruthless,” Leng Feng joked.

Chu Jingcheng shot him a glare. “Leng Feng, believe me, I’ll pierce your eyes if you speak again.”

“Your Highness, I was only joking.”

“Enough. In short, he’s in your hands now. You know what to do, right?”

“Don’t worry, Your Highness. I won’t disappoint you. I’ll make sure this guy has an unforgettable experience,” Leng Feng said with a grin.

Chu Jingcheng had been observing for a while, so he left the matter to Leng Feng.

Once Chu Jingcheng left, Leng Feng rubbed his hands together. “You little brat… dare to snatch from our Prince’s men? You won’t get off easy in my hands.”

Leng Feng entered, fetched a whip, and cracked it hard against the wall before stepping inside.

Seeing Leng Feng enter, a guard stepped forward. “How should we handle him, Guard Leng?”

“How? Naturally, handle him properly,” Leng Feng replied.

Xiao Chengli’s eyes widened with fear. “Who are you? Why bring me here?”

“You don’t need to know who I am. Just know this—now that you’re here, you won’t be leaving anytime soon. You need a memory lesson, don’t you?”

“What do you mean?”

“Of course, you’ll taste some pain, to teach you a lesson,” Leng Feng said, raising the whip and striking Xiao Chengli hard across the chest.

The crack echoed sharply. Xiao Chengli’s chest split, and blood flowed.

Gritting his teeth, he glared at Leng Feng. He had never suffered such humiliation in his life.

“Xiao Chengli, did you ever think you’d end up like this? Time to taste something new,” Leng Feng said.

“I don’t care who you are… you might as well just kill me,” Xiao Chengli gritted out.

“Killing you would be too easy.” Leng Feng swung the whip again.

The second lash struck painfully. Leng Feng was not usually cruel, but this man had offended the Prince—and he was Yin Qingyue’s fiancé. This threat had to be dealt with.

Beaten, Xiao Chengli lowered his head, utterly humiliated. After two lashes, he could barely endure it. “What… what do you want from me? Why are you doing this?”

“What do you think you have?”

“Why?”

“You’re not worthy of knowing,” Leng Feng said, handing the whip to a nearby guard. “Our master orders this guest be well looked after, once every three days. Understood?”

The guard understood immediately. “Yes, I’ll handle it properly.”

Leng Feng smiled, walking up to Xiao Chengli. Looking him over, there was no comparison to their Prince. Dreaming of competing with him for Miss Yin was absurd.

Xiao Chengli glared back furiously.

“You shouldn’t have come here. This is your punishment. Offending the wrong person deserves this outcome,” Leng Feng said.

“Who… are you people?”

“You don’t need to know,” Leng Feng said, then left.

From inside came the sound of whippings and Xiao Chengli’s anguished cries.

Meanwhile, Yin Qingyue had no intention of dealing with Yin Ziyu too harshly immediately. Some matters needed to be handled gradually.

Since Yin Ziyu arrived at Prince Jing’s mansion, she constantly lingered in Yin Qingyue’s room, deliberately choosing moments when Chu Jingcheng was present. Her intentions were obvious.

As soon as Chu Jingcheng arrived at Yin Qingyue’s room, Yin Ziyu appeared, putting on a sweet, flirtatious smile, acting just like when she had tried to seduce Xiao Chengli.

“I didn’t realize Prince Jing was here. Ziyu pays respects,” Yin Ziyu said, bowing.

Chu Jingcheng felt no affection for her and recognized her intentions. She wanted to seduce him, but he didn’t confront her.

“No need. You’re Qingyue’s sister. There’s no need for formalities here,” he said.

“Yes, Ziyu understands,” she replied.

Chu Jingcheng then looked at Yin Qingyue and smiled. “Qingyue, since your sister is here, we shouldn’t neglect her. I know many people in Beihai; why not find her a match?”

“I hadn’t thought about it. But now that you mention it, it reminds me,” Yin Qingyue said to Yin Ziyu. “Ziyu, Big Sister thinks this idea isn’t bad. What do you think?”

Hearing this, Yin Ziyu’s face changed drastically. Panicked, she said, “Big Sister, I don’t want to marry. I want to stay by your side. I haven’t seen you for so long—please let me stay with you.”

“But you’re not young anymore. You can’t stay like this forever,” Yin Qingyue said.

“Big Sister, just let me stay a bit longer. I just arrived. It’s not right for me to marry now!” Yin Ziyu tried every excuse to refuse.

Yin Qingyue let out a soft hum, turning her gaze to Chu Jingcheng.

Chu Jingcheng understood Yin Qingyue’s meaning. He frowned. “When your sister was at Luochenyuan, why didn’t you go stay with her? And now, you want to stay by Big Sister’s side?”

Yin Ziyu froze for a moment before replying, “You can’t just go to Luochenyuan whenever you want. Even if I wanted to, I couldn’t go.”

“Really?”
