MCSCPM -Chapter 369 A Lesson Delivered

Mind-Reading Consort with Superpowers: The Cold Prince, Go Easy on Me5 min read369 of 378

Xiao Chengli had no idea about Chu Jingcheng’s temperament. Naturally, he didn’t realize he had already offended someone he absolutely shouldn’t have.

Yin Qingyue pulled Chu Jingcheng aside. “You two must be tired. Ziyu can stay here in the mansion. As for you…” She turned to Xiao Chengli. “Since you came from Xize, you probably have a place to stay, right?”

“Don’t worry. I made arrangements before coming.”

“That’s good. It’s getting late; go rest at your place first.”

Knowing that Yin Qingyue had politely sent him off, Xiao Chengli didn’t linger any longer. “Alright, I’ll leave first. When I have time, I’ll come see you again.”

Chu Jingcheng’s gaze swept over him sharply, landing on Xiao Chengli with deadly intent. He then said to the guards, “Escort Mr. Xiao out.”

The guards stepped forward. “Yes, sir.”

Xiao Chengli probably hadn’t imagined he’d be allowed to stay a moment longer. He left dejectedly, face ashen.

After Xiao Chengli departed, Yin Qingyue arranged for Yin Ziyu to rest first. “Go wash up. Once you’ve rested, Big Sister will have a proper talk with you.”

“Alright, Big Sister.”

“Dong’er, take her to the back courtyard and make sure she’s well cared for,” Yin Qingyue instructed.

Dong’er nodded and led Yin Ziyu to the back courtyard.

Once Yin Ziyu left, Yin Qingyue turned to Chu Jingcheng. She saw the fiery glare in his eyes—if not for his own status, he would have likely punished Xiao Chengli on the spot.

Chu Jingcheng asked, “Seeing your former fiancé, how did it make you feel?”

Yin Qingyue smiled lightly. “Why are you getting jealous over this?”

“Even if I were, what of it? I ask you—if I were to teach him a lesson, would you intervene?”

Yin Qingyue smiled nonchalantly. “Whether he lives or dies, just let me know.”

“Good. I’ll make sure to tell you,” Chu Jingcheng said, pleased with her answer.

After a moment, Yin Qingyue asked, “By the way, when you said the emperor’s decree will come today, it was probably to irritate that Xiao fellow deliberately, wasn’t it?”

“You know me well.”

“Alright. You’ve been out all day, you must be tired. Go rest for now. I’ll also prepare to visit my innocent little sister later,” Yin Qingyue said with a sly smile.

Chu Jingcheng also thought of a way to deal with Xiao Chengli.

Dong’er led Yin Ziyu to the back courtyard and quickly arranged a room, placing prepared clothes neatly. “Miss Ziyu, you’ll be staying here from now on.”

Yin Ziyu looked around, very pleased. The rooms in Prince Jing’s mansion were indeed large and luxurious.

Now that she was living there, she felt like a half-master of the household. Instantly, she assumed a commanding air, looking at Dong’er. “What’s your name? You seem obedient.”

“My name is Dong’er, servant.”

“Dong’er?” Yin Ziyu smiled. “Have you always served my Big Sister?”

“No. I only began serving her after she moved in,” Dong’er explained.

“I see.” Yin Ziyu sat down like a true mistress, smirking disdainfully. “By the way, my Big Sister and Prince Jing’s relationship—is it really that good? Earlier, she only met him briefly.”

Hearing Yin Ziyu inquire about Prince Jing, Dong’er wasn’t naive. Recalling what Yin Qingyue had said that morning, she now understood.

“Miss, you should rest. I won’t disturb you. Call me if you need anything,” Dong’er said.

“You haven’t even answered my question! I’m just concerned about my Big Sister,” Yin Ziyu said.

“I dare not say more. Miss Ziyu should ask Big Sister herself,” Dong’er replied and left promptly.

Yin Ziyu’s sharpness was slightly hurt, making her somewhat displeased. But Dong’er was Yin Qingyue’s servant—she couldn’t make things difficult for her.

Since she was here, she decided to enjoy herself. She toured the room; everything was of the highest quality.

The clothes, in particular, were made from top-tier fabrics.

“Yin Qingyue, I really should thank you. If it weren’t for you today, I wouldn’t have made it here. But don’t get too happy just yet,” Yin Ziyu muttered to herself.

Her heart had been stirred earlier when she saw Chu Jingcheng. Now, a daring idea formed in her mind: if she could win over Chu Jingcheng, even if she couldn’t surpass Yin Qingyue, at least she could become a secondary consort.

She smiled to herself, determined not to leave empty-handed.

Soon, she finished washing up and changed into her new outfit, looking every bit the mistress.

She summoned a few maidservants. “Quickly prepare some pearl powder—the finest, most delicate kind. Soak it and bring it to me.”

“Pearl powder?” one maid asked, surprised.

“What? Didn’t you hear me? Go, now!”

“Yes, Miss,” the maid replied obediently.

As the maids left, they whispered among themselves.

“Miss Ziyu is so different from our future Princess Consort.”

“Right? She’s so arrogant, asking for pearl powder, acting like she’s some great lady.”

“Don’t say that. If she hears, we’ll be in trouble.”

“So what if she does? Look at her. A proper lady? She doesn’t compare to our Princess Consort.”

“That’s true. If she stays, we’ll have our work cut out for us.”

Even from just a few words, the maids had already judged Yin Ziyu and disliked her.

But Yin Ziyu didn’t notice at all—she acted as if she owned the place.
