Jiangcheng Grand Hotel, Charity Gala.
Amid the dazzling gowns and expensive suits, a greasy, overweight man holding a wine glass swaggered straight toward Yu Xian’s family.
“Well, well, if it isn’t our big star Su Wanyi?”
The newcomer was Director Liu Dapao. His beady eyes roamed shamelessly across Su Wanyi’s body, his duck-like voice dripping with undisguised malice.
Su Wanyi’s pretty face instantly turned pale, and her grip around Yu Xian’s arm tightened unconsciously.
Those humiliating nights… the threats, the insinuations…
They surged back like a nightmare.
Seeing her reaction only made Liu Dapao laugh even more arrogantly. Then his gaze shifted toward the lazy-looking Yu Xian beside her.
“So? Climbed your way onto a rich branch now? Heard your man’s pretty capable. Wasn’t he the one who fished up a naval mine and made the papers a few days ago?”
The lackeys behind him burst into laughter.
“What’s next? Writing him a song called The Man Who Fishes Up Naval Mines?”
Only then did Yu Xian finally shift his gaze away from the luxury fishing yacht displayed on the distant stage and look at Liu Dapao’s oily face.
Damn it.
If Golden Bay Lake hadn’t been sealed off, he wouldn’t even bother coming to a place like this.
“That mine of yours,” Yu Xian said flatly, “looks uglier than the one in the lake.”
The laughter stopped instantly.
Liu Dapao’s face turned the color of pig liver. Pointing at Yu Xian’s nose, he exploded with rage:
“Who the hell do you think you are? A kept man living off a woman dares talk back to me? Believe it or not, one word from me and you two won’t survive another day in Jiangcheng!”
“Blacklist me?”
Yu Xian looked as though he’d just heard the funniest joke of the century.
From a passing waiter’s tray, he picked up a glass of crimson Bordeaux and gently swirled it.
The eerie red glow reflected in his indifferent eyes.
“I don’t like wasting things.”
Yu Xian let out a cold chuckle.
“So I’ll only give you one chance.”
“Kneel down. Apologize to my wife.”
“Otherwise, before sunrise tomorrow, I’ll make sure your reputation is destroyed.”
The entire hall fell silent.
“Hah… hahaha!”
Liu Dapao laughed so hard tears nearly came out.
“You want me to kneel? Did that naval mine blow your brain apart? Who the hell do you think you are? The King of Heaven?”
Before he could finish—
BAM!
A custom leather shoe suddenly appeared behind him and viciously kicked the back of his knee.
“If my dad tells you to kneel, then you kneel!”
Wang Dafu’s fat face was filled with murderous fury as he barked coldly.
CRACK!
A crisp sound of bone breaking echoed through the hall.
“AAAAAHHHHH!!!”
Liu Dapao let out a pig-like scream. His body lost control and slammed to the ground with a loud thud, kneeling directly before Su Wanyi.
The entire audience sucked in a cold breath.
“W-Wang Boss?!”
Sweat poured down Liu Dapao’s face as he stared at this terrifying tycoon in disbelief.
In this era, where coal bosses and real estate moguls controlled the lifeline of the entertainment industry, Liu Dapao understood perfectly well that he was nothing more than a high-level employee.
Meanwhile, Wang Dafu controlled Jiangcheng’s largest theater chain and half the investment circle.
If Wang Dafu so much as twitched a finger, Liu Dapao’s movies wouldn’t even find a single screen to release on.
“From today onward,” Wang Dafu declared on the spot, every word like a knife, “all theaters and malls under Hongda Group will permanently blacklist Liu Dapao!”
“Any investor working with him can either withdraw funding… or become an enemy of my Hongda Group!”
“In Jiangcheng, let’s see who dares give him another meal ticket!”
This was capital crushing entertainers through sheer overwhelming force.
Liu Dapao was completely broken.
Collapsed on the floor, his face ashen.
He was finished.
Utterly finished.
The surrounding elites no longer looked at him as entertainment.
They looked at him like a corpse.
Yu Xian didn’t even spare the “corpse” another glance as he slowly stepped forward.
“Splash—”
The red wine in his glass slowly poured down over Liu Dapao’s greasy head, soaking him completely.
Especially the bright crimson stain spreading across his crotch area.
“Sorry,” Yu Xian said with a faint smile. “My hand slipped.”
“Now get lost.”
Su Wanyi stared blankly at the man shielding her from the world.
Her eyes instantly reddened.
Those “great directors” she once had to flatter, fear, and even humiliate herself to please…
In front of this man, they were as fragile as ants.
“Tha—”
She had only spoken a single syllable before—
“Shut up.”
Yu Xian didn’t even raise his head as he casually placed the empty wine glass back onto the tray.
“My woman got bullied. Me crushing him to death—isn’t that only natural?”
Su Wanyi burst into tears and laughter at the same time.
Just then, the host excitedly stepped onto the stage.
“Next, please welcome President Wang Dafu to draw tonight’s grand prize—a three-million-yuan ‘Sea Wolf’ luxury fishing yacht!”
Yu Xian’s eyes lit up instantly!
Wang Dafu picked up the microphone and cleared his throat, his face overflowing with sycophantic devotion.
“Ahem, no need for a lottery!”
In front of the entire crowd, he gave a deep bow toward Yu Xian.
“This yacht was specially prepared as a birthday gift for my father!”
“Dad! Please accept it!”
The audience collectively turned to stone.
Yu Xian’s face darkened.
This damned fat guy again?!
But before he could explode—
A cold, arrogant female voice drifted calmly from the back of the crowd.
“President Wang, there should always be a first-come, first-served rule.”
“I happen to fancy this yacht as well.”
Everyone turned around at once.
A stunning woman in a white cheongsam slowly approached under the escort of several black-clad bodyguards.
The moment Wang Dafu saw her, the smile on his face froze solid.
His pupils contracted sharply.
He even subconsciously took half a step backward.
