The moment the bandits saw Jin Luoluo’s fairy-like beauty, lust had already taken root in their hearts. Quite a few of them were eager to rush forward and seize her.
A murderous glint flashed through Xiao Luo’s eyes.
“If you kill us, it won’t be only you who die. I had originally intended to spare your parents, wives, and children. But it seems you intend to have them buried alongside you.”
Intimidated by Xiao Luo’s threat, the bandits momentarily forgot about Jin Luoluo and turned to glare fiercely at him.
Some of them were visibly shaken and no longer dared to act rashly.
A man who appeared to be one of the leaders stepped forward. With a fierce gaze and a face full of coarse, rugged features, he tried to stop Xiao Luo from undermining the men’s morale.
“You lackeys of the imperial court, stop pretending to be merciful. How could you possibly spare our families? They’ve probably already been slaughtered by now. Brothers, don’t believe him! These pretty boys only know how to wag their tongues and stall for time. We need to finish them off quickly!”
Meanwhile, Jin Luoluo and Bai Hu had already begun planning how to rescue Xiao Luo.
Jin Luoluo quietly whispered into Bai Hu’s ear,
“The moment I light this thing and throw it into the bandits, you seize the opportunity and grab Xiao Luo. You have to be fast—before they can react.”
Knowing that Miss Jin was both sharp-tongued and resourceful, Bai Hu nodded and focused all his attention on Xiao Luo’s position.
“You idiots! A bunch of useless, filthy scoundrels like you think you can kill us? What a joke! Today I’ll let you experience the most terrifying hidden weapon in the world!”
Jin Luoluo shouted arrogantly at the top of her lungs, deliberately drawing the bandits’ attention so Bai Hu could act.
The bandits were hot-tempered by nature. Being insulted so brazenly by a woman instantly enraged them, and they started charging toward her in fury.
Jin Luoluo immediately struck her fire starter and pulled out a string of firecrackers she had only recently invented and had not yet put on the market.
She had originally intended to use them to celebrate the successful extermination of the bandits.
Now she could only use them to save their lives.
“You filthy dogs! I’ll blow you all to pieces!”
Lighting the fuse, Jin Luoluo hurled the string of firecrackers into the middle of the crowd.
Instantly, a deafening barrage of crackling explosions erupted.
The bandits had never seen such a bizarre “hidden weapon.” Some were frightened out of their wits, while others were struck by the exploding firecrackers and became even more terrified.
Taking advantage of the moment when the bandits’ defenses were down, Bai Hu shot toward Xiao Luo like a bolt of lightning.
