Those young gentlemen who had long since gone crazy over Jin Luoluo all began directing their pleasure boats toward the large barge where she had performed.
Some even jumped into small boats and rowed frantically, hoping to be the first to win the beauty for themselves.
Jin Luoluo was waiting for a small boat to come pick her up. Seeing such chaos, even she was shocked and wide-eyed.
One pleasure boat crashed into the barge, causing the entire vessel to rock violently. Jin Luoluo planted her feet firmly to keep from falling, while several men had already leaped aboard from the bow.
“Miss, what do we do?” Lǜya and Hongye had never seen anything like this before. They hurried to her side and shielded her.
Only then did Jin Luoluo realize how serious the situation was. Gritting her teeth, she picked up a wooden pole from the side of the boat and shoved one into each of their hands.
“We save ourselves, of course… Anyone who tries to snatch me, Jin Luoluo—I’ll fight gods if gods come, and Buddhas if Buddhas come!”
She swung her own pole first, sweeping it toward a man rushing at her. She was no delicate noblewoman incapable of lifting a chicken. One solid strike sent the man howling in pain.
Seeing their mistress in such fierce form, Lǜya and Hongye were instantly invigorated. Their young lady truly was extraordinary. As long as she was around, there was nothing to fear.
But they had underestimated the madness of those men. The men paid no attention to a few women like them. Some of the stronger ones weren’t afraid of a little pain; after taking a hit, they simply snatched the poles away from them.
“Lǜya, Hongye, find a way to jump into the water and escape!” Jin Luoluo dodged left and right, avoiding the men lunging at her.
“We can’t, Miss! The water below is packed with boats. There isn’t even a gap to squeeze through. Jumping down would be suicide!” Lǜya slapped a chubby young master across the face.
Jin Luoluo was furious. How could ancient men be this barbaric? The moment they saw a woman they liked, they tried to seize her by force. Did they think she was merchandise?!
As the struggle continued, several men closed in, forcing her toward the cabin.
“Miss Shuang’er, marry me! I’ll treat you well!” said one man with a grin as broad as the Laughing Buddha’s.
“Miss Jin, your dance was so beautiful. Will you dance only for me from now on?” drooled another lecherous man.
“Miss Shuang’er, your body is so breathtaking…” Another man seemed to be imagining something highly inappropriate; two streams of nosebleed were already running down his face.
“You damned black-hearted prince, save me! If I die, I’ll come back as a vengeful ghost and haunt you every single day, you crippled bastard!” Jin Luoluo shouted through clenched teeth.
