HEIFEIGU -Chapter 6

Hated by the Entire Internet, Fixing the Entertainment Industry by Going Unhinged7 min read7 of 161

“Can I add your contact?” Xie Jixing held out his WeChat QR code.

He added an awkward excuse: “After we get off, I’ll transfer the fare to you.”

The other three people froze. Yu Xinghan and the driver nearly broke out in cold sweat.

Ever since Qian Shuyun retired from acting and became capital, he had grown more and more inscrutable.

Yu Xinghan remembered when they first met. Qian Shuyun was about Xie Jixing’s age, famous overnight from one movie, yet quiet and polite.

The first time on his show, he bowed and called him “Teacher Yu.”

Later, with his talent, he swept domestic awards and became the youngest Grand Slam Best Actor.

When everyone expected him to conquer Asia and the world, Qian Shuyun suddenly retired…

He stopped acting. He no longer participated in public commercial activities. He even hid all the information about himself that he could possibly conceal.

In just a few short years, Qian Shuyun—once a young Best Actor who had amazed the world—seemed to vanish from the entertainment industry entirely, leaving behind only a few classic works.

Only a few old friends who had grown up alongside him, such as Yu Xinghan, knew that Qian Shuyun had never truly left the industry. He had simply moved behind the scenes, becoming a capital investor focused on film investment and distribution—and he was extremely successful at it.

By now, his influence had extended to variety shows, TV dramas, web dramas, and live-streaming platforms.

When he first switched to the capital side, many people tried to latch onto him.

Handsome, wealthy, in control of massive entertainment resources, and possessing unmatched personal charm—having such a powerful backer meant you could practically rise straight to the top.

Asking for his contact information was the mildest approach. Some men and women, relying on their good looks, even stripped naked and climbed straight into his bed.

But as far as Yu Xinghan knew, this man—well, cough—was still single and had absolutely no intention of starting a relationship.

Qian Shuyun wasn’t harsh toward those who threw themselves at him. He was known as a gentleman and never deliberately embarrassed anyone.

But gradually, for some unknown reason, he seemed to become shrouded in dark clouds. His temperament grew increasingly gloomy, even frightening.

People who sought his help or wanted to cling to him would rather curry favor with his subordinates or other stakeholders than approach him directly.

Even old friends and people close to him didn’t dare get too close.

No one had asked him for his contact information in a long time.

Yu Xinghan thought again about what had happened to Xie Jixing today.

If Xie Jixing were really willing to sell himself to climb higher, then with that face, he wouldn’t have ended up poisoned and abandoned with no one backing him.

Yu Xinghan decided to step in.

“Xiao Xie, we’re going the same way anyway. No need to transfer the money.”

Brother Wang quickly agreed. “Yes, yes. We’re close to your dorm too. No need to be so polite.”

But Xie Jixing seemed completely unaware of the strange atmosphere.

He hadn’t planned on paying anyway, so he accepted naturally. He moved his phone closer, narrowed his eyes slightly, and looked at Qian Shuyun.

“So… shall we add each other?”

Yu Xinghan wiped imaginary sweat from his forehead.

No saving him. No saving him at all. Doesn’t this kid know how to be afraid? Isn’t he scared of being thrown out? They’re on the highway!

But to everyone’s surprise, Qian Shuyun hesitated briefly, took out his phone, scanned the QR code, and softly replied: “Add.”

After that incident, Brother Wang stepped harder on the accelerator and quickly dropped Xie Jixing off at his dorm.

The car started moving again. Silence filled the cabin.

Yu Xinghan held it in for a long time before speaking.

“I’m not close to Xie Jixing, okay? I just felt bad seeing him bullied by his agency. If you don’t want to add him, you can delete him. Don’t worry about me.”

“You’re overthinking,” Qian Shuyun said, looking at the new contact. “I added him because I wanted to.”

Xie Jixing’s profile picture was one he had just changed that afternoon while bored—a mountain of gold coins sparkling with golden stars. It looked vulgar and money-obsessed.

His nickname was even more direct: “MoneyCome!!!”

Three exclamation marks, full of sincerity.

Qian Shuyun chuckled softly.

Yu Xinghan felt even more unsettled.

Why is he laughing? So creepy. Is he planning to get rid of Xie Jixing?

“Don’t you usually never add strangers?” Yu Xinghan asked quietly. “Why him this time?”

Why?

Qian Shuyun frowned and thought about it.

He didn’t know.

It was just that no one had approached him in a long time. No one had dared to look back at him so boldly and unrestrainedly.

When Xie Jixing narrowed his eyes at him, the tiny red mole under his eye looked like a perfect ruby in the dark—dazzling and unforgettable.

And then there was that light touch from his pinky against the back of Qian Shuyun’s hand.

The warmth of Xie Jixing’s fingertips was like a tiny spark, melting the icy shell on his hand. His frozen nerves slowly relaxed and stretched.

A long-forgotten warmth spread from that point throughout his body.

It was unbelievably comfortable.

Qian Shuyun almost couldn’t help wanting Xie Jixing to touch him again. He had to look out the window and force himself not to think about it.

So why did he add him?

While thinking about it, he tilted his head and fell asleep.

Xie Jixing, of course, didn’t know who Qian Shuyun was. He had no intention of using him to advance in the industry.

He simply wanted to see if there might be a chance to steal someone else’s ghost later.

Qian Shuyun’s avatar was a clapperboard. His nickname was just one word: “Qian.”

After staring at it for a while, Xie Jixing sincerely praised:

“Good taste!”

Even though he’d lived in the dorm for over a year, he didn’t have much luggage. Two suitcases were enough.

After packing and showering, it was already past 3 a.m.

But thinking about being mocked outside the car made him too angry to sleep.

He looked at the unlucky ghost, who was bloated from absorbing too much negative energy.

“Have you digested it?”

The ghost covered its mouth and shook its head.

So full. Feels like vomiting.

Great.

Xie Jixing jumped up from bed.

Time to cause trouble!

He grabbed the unlucky ghost and dragged it outside.

The dorm was a four-story villa.

First floor: public areas and the manager’s room.

Second floor: best rooms—Xia Letian and Ji Jin lived there.

Third floor: recording studio and Zhu Qian’s room.

Fourth floor: Xie Jixing, next to the storage room.

He rushed downstairs with the ghost.

Third floor—skip.

Second floor—perfect.

They stopped at Ji Jin’s door.

“Will the negative energy come out?”

The ghost looked confused.

“Fart. Can you fart?”

The ghost stared in horror.

Xie Jixing turned him around, aiming his butt at the door handle.

The ghost trembled.

So perverted!

“Now. Let it out.”

The ghost closed his eyes in humiliation.

A thin strand of black gas slowly floated out and wrapped around the handle.

Sticky and disgusting—clearly indigestion.

Xie Jixing was satisfied.

After the first time, it got easier.

He did the same to Xia Letian’s door.

Then happily went downstairs.

Manager’s door—done.

Fridge—done.

Cookware—done.

Cups and plates—done.

After everything, the ghost had shrunk several sizes, floating weakly like a broken squeaky toy.

Xie Jixing looked at the mess with satisfaction.

“Bully me? Eat ghost farts!”

He carried the limp ghost upstairs and went to sleep.

Even with little sleep, he woke up early.

Last night was impulsive. He should’ve waited until today.

Now he felt like he couldn’t stay anymore.

The ghost’s home was 40 minutes away. Seeing the 60-yuan fare, he winced.

The neighborhood was upscale and secure.

At the entrance was a European-style garden.

Beyond it were townhouses.

“Here?” he asked.

The ghost shook its head.

Farther in—detached villas.

“Here then!”

The ghost kept floating.

Garden apartments…

Still no.

Finally, they reached the apartment building.

In the basement elevator lobby, Xie Jixing looked disappointed.

“Which floor?”

The “-2” button lit up.

They wound through corridors to a basement door.

The ghost thought Xie Jixing’s resentment was now stronger than his—at least vengeful-ghost level.

Inside, the room was tiny but livable.

One bed.
One wardrobe.
One desk.
One small bathroom where you could sit on the toilet while showering.

But it was clean enough to move into.

Xie Jixing pushed two large suitcases inside and turned back to look gloomily at the unlucky ghost behind him.

“Good thing you’re already dead.”

Unlucky ghost: ???

“Otherwise, I’m afraid I’d crush you to death just by turning around.”

So heartless—it really hurt a ghost’s feelings!
