Amid the laughter of her companions, Little Yellow lay on the ground pretending to be dead.
Winter White Plum, on the other hand, stood frozen in place, her toes curling and her scalp tingling with embarrassment.
As one of the culprits, she felt she should probably do something to fix this.
“Um… senior, are you okay?”
“Please listen to my sophistry—no, I mean explanation! I really didn’t do it on purpose!”
Even if you gave her ten thousand guts, she wouldn’t dare to mess with this senior.
If anyone was to blame, then…
Her gaze swept across the little figures. Winter White Plum’s shoulders slumped. Fine, she was weak—blame her.
“Senior, how about I buy you some cotton candy as an apology?”
Hesitantly, Winter White Plum reached out and picked up the cotton candy that was pinning Little Yellow down.
Vaguely, she heard a faint tearing sound as the cotton candy separated from the little figure.
To avoid further embarrassment for the senior, Winter White Plum thoughtfully turned away and didn’t look at Little Yellow on the ground, giving her space.
On the ground, Little Yellow lay covered in sugar threads, staring blankly.
She very much wanted to become a thoughtless rock and escape this humiliating situation.
From sheer embarrassment, her body temperature rapidly rose, and the sugar threads on her face began to slowly melt.
Seeing how tactful the “culprit” was, Little Yellow opened her mouth to say something—but the melting sugar threads happened to drip into her mouth at that exact moment.
She originally wanted to spit it out.
What kind of identity did she have? How could she eat something that fell on the ground? That was something only dogs would do.
(Some subtle implication here pointed at a certain genius surnamed Qin who was still outside searching for Lu Wu but couldn’t find her.)
But the sugar dissolved too quickly. The sweet liquid mixed with her saliva, becoming inseparable.
Little Yellow instantly sprang up like a carp flipping over.
As she moved, her mouth closed slightly.
Her tongue brushed over that trace of sweetness—and in that instant, a honey-like flavor bloomed.
It was a very special sweetness, not overly rich or cloying. Instead, it felt like white clouds drifting across a blue sky—soft, light, and gentle.
She stopped trying to spit it out and covered her mouth.
She looked uncertainly at the cotton candy placed aside by Winter White Plum for a long time, then finally spoke:
“Did you just say… you’ll buy me cotton candy? Is that true?”
Hearing the senior speak, Winter White Plum—who had been sneakily watching from the corner of her eye—shuddered and nodded rapidly like a chick pecking rice.
“Really, really! I wouldn’t dare lie to you, senior! Please wait, I’ll go buy it right away!”
She dashed toward Lu Wu’s stall like a gust of wind, eyes sparkling.
She had found a way out.
“Boss Lu! I want the best, the most expensive cotton candy!”
Winter White Plum kept winking at Lu Wu, hoping she would understand the situation and perform well.
A customer’s request was Lu Wu’s greatest motivation. Wholehearted service to diners was her principle.
She agreed and began working.
First, she took out yellow sugar crystals—the color closely resembling Little Yellow.
In just a few breaths, the sugar began to liquefy.
Having done this many times, the process had become second nature.
Lu Wu’s hands moved in coordination, threads of sugar continuously floated out from the machine while bamboo sticks rotated to shape them.
Her fingertips danced like butterflies.
In moments, a yellow little figure appeared before them.
In appearance, it looked exactly like Little Yellow. Even the most critical observer would struggle to find flaws.
Boss Lu’s craftsmanship was truly top-tier.
But…
Winter White Plum felt a chill run down her spine.
“Boss Lu… maybe we should change it?”
She shuffled sideways, trying to block Little Yellow’s view behind her.
She felt like Lu Wu was trying to get her killed—why else would she create a cotton candy figure that looked like a lying-down, mocked version of Little Yellow?
This was basically a face-level provocation.
Winter White Plum genuinely felt she couldn’t withstand a single slap from Little Yellow.
She wanted to live!
But Lu Wu, being watched expectantly, showed absolutely no guilt. She raised her chin slightly, signaling Winter White Plum to look behind her.
Darling, turn around—there’s a surprise.
Winter White Plum turned her head and almost bumped lips with Little Yellow.
Realizing how close they were, she jolted backward instantly.
Little Yellow had already been peeking over her shoulder, curiosity overflowing. In other words, she had seen the entire shaping process.
Although the figure’s appearance was somewhat humiliating, as long as it tasted good, she could forgive it.
“Give it to me.”
Little Yellow said solemnly, though her round, cute face only made her look more harmless when trying to be serious.
“Ahem…”
The cotton candy “Little Yellow” figure was already blushing in spirit.
The sugar sculpture was exquisite—she didn’t even know where to start eating.
She carefully extended her tongue and licked the figure’s hand.
The sweet sensation instantly made her composed expression collapse.
“Mmm!”
Her voice was full of enjoyment.
“Is it really that good?”
The other little figures hesitated.
Before coming here, Little Red had been strongly promoting the deliciousness of cotton candy. Even the usually steady Little Purple had supported her.
But they also knew Little Red and Little Purple had become… close.
It was possible Little Purple, who had long admired Little Red, was just helping her out of bias.
They had doubted it for so long—but seeing even Little Yellow instantly conquered made them curious.
They wanted to try.
“It really is. If I’m lying, I’m a dog,” Little Red declared confidently.
“You can try it. It’s not expensive anyway.”
Under her persuasion, the others nodded.
“Then let’s try.”
Hearing this, Lu Wu rubbed her hands in anticipation. Her quest progress was about to rise again.
But unexpectedly, none of the little figures came to her stall.
Instead, they rushed toward Little Yellow.
Under Little Yellow’s stunned gaze, they extended their “evil hands” toward the sugar figure.
Little Orange grabbed the head, Little Green took the left hand, Little Cyan targeted the right leg…
Working together, they dismembered the cotton candy Little Yellow figure.
In the blink of an eye, it shattered.
Little Yellow’s heart also shattered.
All that remained in her hands was the bamboo stick and a few strands of sugar.
She stared blankly, unable to understand how her companions could be so ruthless.
“My cotton candy… give me back my cotton candy!”
Her voice came out through clenched teeth.
Using the stick like a sword, she charged at them.
“Dare to steal my cotton candy? I’ll stab you to death!”
The “culprits” scattered, laughing as they ran.
“Come catch us then!”
“Little Yellow, your head is really sweet!”
“This arm is nice too—so soft and full of meat!”
Their teasing only made Little Yellow even angrier.
But their cultivation levels were similar; she couldn’t really do anything to them.
“I’m so mad!”
By the time she finished chasing them, the sugar balls were already gone. She could only stop and glare fiercely.
At that moment, another meteor descended from the sky.
This time Lu Wu was calm—because she recognized Ye Chi’s face.
“Boss Lu! I’m back!”
Ye Chi was extremely excited. He had been separated from his beloved cotton candy for a whole day and was practically lovesick.
Little Yellow, still fuming, saw his lecherous grin and immediately kicked upward.
“Get lost!”
That ugly thing offended my eyes!
Before Ye Chi even had time to land, he once again turned into a shooting star and disappeared.
“Boss Lu, I’m leaving again!”
