Outside the Textile Factory, Su Yonghong and Sister Min walked together, complaining about how unfair Secretary Jiang and the factory director were.

Why weren’t they giving them a raise?

“Section Chief Su?”

Hearing someone call her, Su Yonghong looked up and saw Secretary Jiang standing not far away.

Her eyes were full of confusion as she asked, “Secretary Jiang, were you looking for me?”

Secretary Jiang’s eyes showed no emotion, cold and distant, as she looked at Su Yonghong.

She said, “Starting today, Section Chief Su will be transferred to work in the workshop’s logistics department.”

At those words, Su Yonghong’s expression instantly turned cold.

She hadn’t taken Secretary Jiang’s order to work in the workshop seriously at all—she purely assumed it was a threat meant to pressure her because of Gu Yihan.

Sister Min glanced sideways at Su Yonghong, then turned her gaze to Secretary Jiang, her eyes full of fear. She whispered, “Secretary Jiang, are you joking?”

Secretary Jiang’s eyes briefly swept over Sister Min and then she said to her companion, “Take Su Yonghong to the workshop logistics department to report in.”

Her companion nodded, walked over to Su Yonghong, and said straightforwardly, “Section Chief Su, come with me.”

Su Yonghong glanced at the logistics worker next to her but ignored him.

Instead, she strode over to Secretary Jiang, grabbed his arm, bent her back slightly, deliberately lowering her posture, and said, “Secretary Jiang, yesterday was my fault. I…”

Secretary Jiang pulled his arm away, raised his hand to cut her off, and coldly said, “Section Chief Su, are you refusing to accept a superior’s assignment?”

Su Yonghong was so annoyed by Secretary Jiang’s words that she almost laughed in anger.

Refuse? How could she?

Her salary was lower than Gu Yihan’s, and now she was being transferred to the workshop logistics department.

Not to mention, that job required daily fabric inspections and frequent lifting. It was completely incomparable to her accounting work.

She looked directly into Secretary Jiang’s eyes and said, “Secretary Jiang, you have no right to transfer me out of the accounting department.”

Sister Min, seeing Su Yonghong confront Secretary Jiang directly, tugged on her sleeve and whispered, “Sister Su, you can’t win against the higher-ups.”

Su Yonghong swatted Sister Min’s hand away and glanced at Secretary Jiang.

Before he could react, she suddenly turned and sprinted in the opposite direction of the accounting office.

Secretary Jiang was stunned by Su Yonghong’s action, not knowing what she intended to do.

After a brief pause, he quickly headed in her direction.

Su Yonghong dashed into the broadcasting room and, seeing Secretary Jiang closely behind, slammed the door shut.

The young girl inside the broadcasting room saw Su Yonghong lock the door.

Curious, she asked, “Section Chief Su, why did you lock the door?”

Section Chief Su didn’t answer and walked straight to the broadcasting equipment.

She plopped down, picked up the microphone, and said to the two of them, “Attention, attention.”

Once she confirmed the broadcast was working, she vividly recounted how Gu Yihan had received a raise yesterday for no reason.

She framed it as her and Accountant Min standing up for the long-time factory employees and reasoning with the factory director.

She also described Secretary Jiang’s favoritism toward Gu Yihan.

The girl in the broadcasting room was completely blank, unsure of what to do.

“Turn off the equipment!”

Secretary Jiang shouted from the doorway.

The girl jumped in fright and hurriedly started shutting down the equipment.

Su Yonghong calmly watched her actions.

Turn it off? So what? The workers in the factory already knew what they needed to know.

The girl, pale and tearful, looked at Su Yonghong and said, “Section Chief Su, you’ve ruined me.”

Then she hurried to the door, pulling a key from her pocket, hands trembling as she tried to unlock it.

Before she could open the door, Su Yonghong pushed her aside, messed up her own hair, and pinched her thigh hard.

The pain made her grit her teeth, and tears immediately streamed down her face.

She opened the door and walked straight up to Secretary Jiang, whose face was now stone-cold.

With a wronged expression, she said, “Secretary Jiang, you can’t take personal revenge just because I exposed that you gave Section Chief Gu a raise but not the long-time factory employees.”

“What? Secretary Jiang is taking personal revenge?”

Because of Su Yonghong’s speech, the people outside the broadcasting room were all blocking the doorway.

Seeing her disheveled hair and slightly red eyes, they assumed she had been threatened by Secretary Jiang.

The crowd whispered among themselves:

“Didn’t expect Secretary Jiang to be like this.”

“Why did only Section Chief Gu get a raise?”

“So unfair—they don’t care about us workers at all.”

“Yes, everyone should get a raise together. Why is she an exception?”

Hearing the murmurs, Su Yonghong lowered her head, a small smile on her lips, and shot Secretary Jiang a provocative glance from the corner of her eyes.

Secretary Jiang’s eyes narrowed slightly. Was she trying to use the factory employees to pressure him?

A female section chief looked at Secretary Jiang and complained, “Secretary Jiang, you can’t treat people differently like this.”

Secretary Jiang didn’t respond, instead scanning the group at the broadcasting room door—mostly section chiefs.

Even if the female workers in the workshop were unhappy, they wouldn’t dare stop the running machines.

Secretary Jiang’s gaze turned icy as he slowly walked up to Su Yonghong.

With a cold laugh, he said, “Want to know why Section Chief Gu got a raise?”

Su Yonghong’s eyes were red, her expression delicate. She softly said, “Secretary Jiang, no matter how biased you are toward Section Chief Gu, you can’t chill the hearts of the other employees.”

“Yes, we’ve been working in this factory for over ten years,” a sharp female voice said.

“Step aside.”

Hearing Gu Yihan’s voice, the crowd immediately turned to look at her.

In a mocking tone, she said, “Oh? Section Chief Gu got a raise, so now she speaks with confidence.”

Gu Yihan parted the crowd, glancing at Secretary Jiang standing aside, frowning.

She walked up to Su Yonghong and coldly said, “Trying to use my reputation for your own goals?”

Su Yonghong looked at Gu Yihan, her eyes flashing with resentment.

If it weren’t for her, Secretary Jiang wouldn’t have sent her to the workshop logistics department.

She deliberately wiped her tears, and softly said, “Xiaohan, you usually bully me, that’s one thing, but this time it involves so many people in the factory…”

She lowered her head, glancing cautiously at Gu Yihan, afraid she would get angry.

The surrounding crowd saw Su Yonghong acting so meek, and their sense of justice flared.

They all began to accuse Gu Yihan:

“Section Chief Gu, how can you bully Section Chief Su?”

“Yes, Section Chief Su is more than ten years older than you! You have no manners.”

“Exactly, Section Chief Gu should learn from Section Chief Su and care about us long-time employees.”

Gu Yihan turned to look at the women whispering at her ear, raising an eyebrow.

She glanced at Su Yonghong, who had a slight smirk on her lips.

“Learn from her how to lift some and step on others, stirring up trouble?” Gu Yihan retorted sharply to the women in front of her.
