B5SB -Chapter 103 Lu Huailin Is Discharged from the Hospital

Gu Yihan pushed open the ward door while carrying a bag of pig trotters, only to see two grown men tangled up in a fight.

Hearing the door open, Lu Huailin looked up and saw it was Gu Yihan. Instinctively, he loosened his grip on Shen Yujie’s hair.

Seizing the chance, Shen Yujie grabbed Lu Huailin’s arm and bit down hard, venting his anger.

Seeing this, Gu Yihan hurried over, shoved Shen Yujie aside, and stood in front of Lu Huailin.

“Doctor Shen, what are you doing?”

“Don’t you know he just had surgery a few days ago? What if his wound gets worse?”

After speaking, she turned and began checking Lu Huailin’s wound. Only when she saw there was no blood on the bandage did she finally relax.

He shouted at Gu Yihan, “Are you blind? Didn’t you see that your man hit me first?”

“Lu Huailin is built like an ox. His wounds heal so fast—how could his condition possibly worsen?”

Hearing Shen Yujie yell at his wife, Lu Huailin stepped past Gu Yihan, wanting to punch him again.

Gu Yihan quickly grabbed him and stared coldly at Shen Yujie.

“Lu Huailin is a patient.”

“Just because he heals fast doesn’t mean you can do whatever you want.”

She suddenly remembered that Shen Yujie had bitten him earlier.

Rolling up Lu Huailin’s sleeve, she said sarcastically, “Let me see if you broke the skin.”

“I wonder if this hospital even has rabies vaccines.”

Feeling her concern, Lu Huailin smiled at her.

“It’s fine. It doesn’t hurt.”

Gu Yihan carefully checked his arm. Seeing only slight redness and no broken skin, she finally felt relieved.

Shen Yujie glared at the couple, his eyes turning red with anger.

He said resentfully, “What do you mean ‘do whatever I want’? If Lu Huailin hadn’t hit me first, I wouldn’t have—”

Gu Yihan hadn’t planned to dig deeper, but seeing him try to shift the blame, her gaze turned cold.

She interrupted him, “Then tell me, Doctor Shen—why did Lu Huailin hit you in the first place?”

Shen Yujie stiffened, pressed his lips together, and stayed silent.

How am I supposed to answer that? Say it was because of you?

Seeing that he wouldn’t respond, Gu Yihan ignored him. She walked to the bedside and placed the pig trotters on the table.

With her back turned, Shen Yujie looked at Lu Huailin and mouthed silently, “Who are you pretending for?”

Lu Huailin felt more and more that Shen Yujie had problems with his brain and simply ignored him.

Turning around, Gu Yihan said softly to Lu Huailin, “I got permission from the doctor and bought two pig trotters. I was going to ask what flavor you like and cook them for you at home.”

“But now it seems you can’t stay in the hospital anymore. Let’s just get discharged and go home. I’ll make you soup.”

Lu Huailin walked over, pulled her down onto a stool, and looked at her with his dark eyes.

“Whatever my wife makes, I’ll eat. I’m not picky.”

Watching the two of them talk back and forth as if he didn’t exist, Shen Yujie got so angry that he turned around and slammed the door before leaving.

After he left, Gu Yihan shot Lu Huailin a glare.

“You’re already an adult. Why are you still fighting?”

Lu Huailin didn’t explain. He simply hugged her tightly from the side.

Staring at her profile, his eyes grew deep and intense.

In a hoarse voice, he said, “Wife, I missed you. Did you miss me?”

Gu Yihan felt uncomfortable under his burning gaze.

She struggled a little, but he wouldn’t let go.

Helpless, she changed the subject.

“I still need to handle your discharge paperwork.”

She gestured toward the clothes on the bed.

“And you need to pack your things.”

Lu Huailin lowered his head and kissed her eyebrows and eyes before finally releasing her.

He had stayed in the hospital for several days and had quite a few belongings. The two of them split up to pack.

When they returned to the family compound together, they ran into many familiar faces along the way.

People whispered among themselves, but neither of them paid much attention.

Qi Yanran and Du Xiao were chatting while strolling when they happened to meet Gu Yihan and Lu Huailin.

With a confident expression, Qi Yanran walked up to them, her eyes fixed on Lu Huailin.

Worried Gu Yihan might misunderstand, Lu Huailin’s face turned cold. He shot Qi Yanran an icy glance.

Frightened by his gaze, she didn’t dare approach and stood stiffly in place.

She watched as Lu Huailin held Gu Yihan’s hand and walked past her.

Seeing that the couple ignored Qi Yanran and left, Du Xiao couldn’t hide the gloating look on her face.

The confidence in Qi Yanran’s doe-like eyes faded, replaced by doubt.

She turned to Du Xiao sadly.

“Does he really hate me that much?”

Du Xiao knew she meant Lu Huailin.

She coaxed her, “Are you stupid? There are people everywhere. How could Commander Lu talk to you openly?”

Qi Yanran subconsciously looked around and saw several military wives nearby.

Her confidence returned. She touched her cheek and said, “That’s what I thought. Our families are so close.”

“Even for my parents’ sake, he has to give me some face.”

Du Xiao echoed, “Once Gu Yihan’s biological parents from Gujia Village arrive, everyone in the compound will know her background.”

“If she refuses to acknowledge them, have her parents report her to the Revolutionary Committee.”

Lu Huailin froze, then understood.

“That’s still better than letting you hear it from someone else. I didn’t want to hide it from you.”

Then he looked at her firmly.

“I know what my mom is like. I won’t let you be put in a difficult position.”

The two chatted quietly as they walked, eventually returning to their small courtyard.
