An hour later, the group arrived at their destination.
Looking at the shop before them, Madam Jiang and her daughter felt both nervous and uneasy.
They opened the shop. Inside, a mix of old and new tables and chairs stood neatly, while the stove already had clean bowls and chopsticks arranged in perfect order.
However…
“The signboard?” Ling Sheng asked in confusion, looking at Madam Jiang.
Madam Jiang turned, equally puzzled, to glance at Tang Wan and her daughter.
The sisters-in-law exchanged a look—stunned.
It seemed… they had forgotten!
“You two didn’t forget, did you?” Madam Jiang’s face showed utter disbelief.
Sisters-in-law: …
They really had forgotten!
“No worries, I’ll sort it out later,” Tang Wan said quickly.
It was just a small matter, though the name should probably be decided with Madam Jiang and Ling Yue’s input.
Yet both of them told her she should decide.
Fine then—she’d decide!
They unloaded the heavy pots from the cart one by one, setting them onto the shop’s stoves.
The pier was always bustling. Old Shen had run his food stall here for many years.
Now, a new group showed up, hauling in pot after pot—naturally sparking curiosity.
Within moments, a crowd gathered outside the shop.
Of course, most were just there to gawk, wondering what this new shop was selling.
But the moment they set the pots down and Ling Yue lifted a lid, the fragrance that spilled out was unbelievable!
“Boss lady, what are you selling?” someone asked Madam Jiang.
She smiled. “Pig offal.”
The crowd: …
Everyone instinctively stepped back several paces, faces full of disgust, looking at Madam Jiang as though she were insane.
Madam Jiang blinked in confusion. Had she said something wrong?
Just as she was wondering, Ling Yue pulled her aside and answered the man directly:
“We’ve cleaned the pig offal thoroughly, then added my secret recipe. Just smell it—so fragrant! And besides, it’s not called pig offal—it’s fatty intestines. Aside from those, we’ve got braised pig heart, braised pig lungs, braised pig liver, and steaming white rice. Paired with my braised sauce, that’s a feast fit for the heavens.”
She grinned. “And it’s cheap—only twenty wen a bowl, rice for three wen. First ten customers get half off, to celebrate our grand opening.”
“You little lass can really talk—you’ve made me hungry already. All right, give me a bowl of that braised fatty intestine, and a bowl of rice!”
“Coming right up, this way please!” Ling Yue ushered him in, then served him a generous bowl of braised fatty intestines and a bowl of rice.
The customer took one bite, eyes lit up, and without another word buried his face in the bowl.
Outside, the onlookers saw him eat so heartily their mouths watered.
Was this really pig offal? Could it really smell that good?
While they hesitated, the man had already finished both the intestines and rice.
Before even swallowing his last bite, he stretched out his hand eagerly:
“Another bowl of intestines! And a bowl of braised lungs too—oh, and another rice!”
“Right away!” Ling Yue laughed and quickly served his order.
The crowd outside grew restless. One of them, who knew the customer, called out:
“Old Wang Liu, is it really that good?”
“Delicious!” Wang Liu swallowed and replied, “I never knew pig offal could taste this good. It’s heavenly!”
“Tch, you sure you’re not just a paid shill?”
“If I were a shill, then don’t eat any. I’ll just pack more later and let my wife try!” Wang Liu shot back, ignoring the man after.
The onlookers exchanged looks.
Immediately, several more stepped into the shop to order pig offal.
