Yan Cheng: ……
Mu Qingfeng: ……
Ling Yu: ……
It can be done like this?
Ling Yu’s brows moved slightly. “Then how can one determine whether someone is truly one’s biological child?”
Tang Wan thought for a moment before saying, “With the limited medical knowledge we have, aside from the unreliable method of dripping blood to test kinship, there’s another method called ‘testing bones with blood’ — dripping the living person’s blood onto the deceased person’s bones. If the blood seeps into the bones, then they’re biologically related. But that’s not reliable either. If you really want to know whether someone is biological kin, you can only judge by appearance and family history of hereditary diseases.”
After all, this was ancient times — there was no such thing as DNA testing.
Checking genes was simply impossible.
“Is that so?” Ling Yu narrowed his eyes, clearly thinking about something.
The other three didn’t notice his expression. Yan Cheng immediately said, “I’ve got some brothers under me. I’ll go call them over now and test their blood one by one?”
Mainly, he really wanted to see whether what Tang Wan said was true.
Tang Wan nodded. “Yes, hurry. He can’t delay any longer — once the poison reaches his heart, even the gods won’t be able to save him.”
“I’m going right now!” Yan Cheng ran off at once.
Mu Qingfeng watched his departing figure with complicated feelings, a subtle emotion stirring in his heart.
This guy… sharp-tongued but soft-hearted?
He had complained about him the whole way back, yet now he was being so proactive!
Luckily Yan Cheng didn’t know what he was thinking, or he would definitely curse him for being self-indulgent.
He only wanted to see how many ‘fathers’ this illegitimate son had — it wasn’t concern at all!
Before long, all of Yan Cheng’s brothers came in, and Tang Wan prepared some clean water.
She first pricked Yan Cheng’s finger and dripped a drop of his blood into the bowl, then had the others draw blood as well.
Yan Cheng’s brothers were very unwilling to get cut for this Mu Qingfeng and made plenty of sarcastic remarks.
It wasn’t until Yan Cheng roared at them that they quieted down.
In the end, using this method, they found that seven people had matching blood types with Mu Qingfeng.
Tang Wan couldn’t determine Mu Qingfeng’s exact blood type, but she guessed it was probably type A or B — otherwise there wouldn’t be so many matches.
Fortunately, it wasn’t an RH blood type, or it would have been troublesome.
“That’s enough. A blood exchange can’t be done in one day. Today we’ll give him some first, then a little every day. At most seven days and the poison will be gone. Now, who’s going first?” Tang Wan took out a packet of glucose from her basket — actually from her storage space — and looked at them.
They looked at each other, none of them wanting to step forward.
Yan Cheng sighed and pointed at a burly man among them. “Anzi, you go. Stop dawdling.”
“Big brother, you just see that I look tough and bully me!” the man called Anzi complained, but still stepped out.
Tang Wan poured the glucose into another container, keeping only the bag as a blood bag, then attached a collection tube.
They had never seen such a thing before, but when they noticed the needle at the end of the tube, all of them immediately took a synchronized step back.
Tang Wan: A bunch of clowns!
She had Anzi roll up his sleeve, pushed the needle in, and began collecting blood.
Everyone watched as that vivid, glaring red flowed through the strange little tube and into the strange bag.
It really was quite novel.
Yan Cheng asked curiously, “What material is this? I’ve never seen it before.”
Tang Wan refused to answer and ignored him.
Yan Cheng got snubbed and silently looked at Ling Yu.
Sister-in-law is a bit aloof!
Ling Yu smiled. “My wife learned medicine from a doctor at Jimin Clinic since she was young. She also likes tinkering with strange things, and her temperament is a bit solitary. Brother Yan, don’t take it to heart.”
