All thirty-plus servants were personally selected by Tang Wan—honest, simple, and reliable people. Ling Yue took their indenture contracts and gave them a stern warning before leading them to the estate, where she handed them all over to Li Wu and Aunt Yang to manage.

Li Wu and Aunt Yang never imagined that one day they’d be managing so many people; they were overjoyed.

Inside one of the estate houses, Ling Yue spread out the map of the estate.

“Uncle Li, I’ve built a workshop here. From now on, anyone entering or leaving must press their handprint. You don’t need to do anything else—just keep an eye on them. If anyone seems off, tell me immediately!”

“Aunt Yang, this area here is the orchard—it’s for you to keep bees.” At this point, Ling Yue smiled and continued, “Now you and Uncle Li are considered stewards. Your monthly pay should be raised. Hmm… from now on, ten taels of silver each—what do you think?”

After warning the servants once more, Tang Wan went to find Ling Yue.
