Song Yunfei clenched her fingers and said through gritted teeth, “That woman Li Shan is poaching my clients!”
She briefly explained the situation to him. Chu Jinhan asked in confusion, “They didn’t contact you in advance?”
Song Yunfei took out her phone and checked all her call logs and chat messages, confirming that Mr. Zhao had not contacted her beforehand.
“No.”
Chu Jinhan said, “Then it means they didn’t plan to buy today. They probably just wanted to ask around at your sales office and compare. You should ask carefully first.”
Song Yunfei responded with a soft “mm” and messaged Xiao Shuang, intending to call her.
In any case, since they were already signing the contract, it would be too late for her to rush over now.
Before long, Xiao Shuang took the initiative to call her.
Song Yunfei quickly answered, “Hello, Xiao Shuang. Do you know what’s going on? Were they there looking for me?”
“It didn’t seem like it. They said they just came to take a look, then I don’t know what they discussed in the VIP room, but Li Shan took them out to view properties.”
“When they came back, I heard them mention that they had previously seen places with you.”
Xiao Shuang lowered her voice and added, “I just went to get some water and overheard a bit. Li Shan was badmouthing you, saying the unit you recommended wasn’t good, and even hinting that you have issues with your personal life. Then she started promoting that leftover unit she has that’s in a poor location.”
According to Xiao Shuang, Li Shan had completely belittled the property Song Yunfei had shown them earlier, while exaggerating the one she was handling.
The price of a similar unit was about 20% lower than the one Song Yunfei had recommended.
On top of that, Li Shan lied to them, saying there were no other available units left in that building, and that the unit she was promoting had already been reserved by someone else, with only three days left before the scheduled down payment. If the other party didn’t show up, it would be sold to them.
The two of them panicked and were ready to sign the contract and pay the down payment immediately.
Song Yunfei curled her lips slightly. She hadn’t expected that Mrs. Zhao, who seemed so shrewd, would fall for something like this.
“Alright, I understand. Thank you, Xiao Shuang.”
At this point, even if she rushed over, it would be too late. Song Yunfei paced back and forth in the room, thinking of a countermeasure.
Even if she didn’t want this client anymore, she absolutely couldn’t let Li Shan succeed—she couldn’t swallow this insult.
Suddenly, she thought of something and took out her phone to find a number.
Soon, she made the call.
Sitting nearby, Chu Jinhan was gently rubbing the dog’s head, watching Song Yunfei thoughtfully.
His palm was larger than the dog’s head, and Quanquan’s head was almost squished into itself from his touch. It tried to escape, but being held on his lap, it couldn’t get away.
Soon, the call connected. Song Yunfei said, “Sister Li, sorry to bother you.”
Sister Li replied in her usual impatient tone, “What is it?”
Song Yunfei said, “Here’s the situation. Li Shan has taken my clients to view a leftover unit in Chun Tian Community. As you know, that unit hasn’t had any transactions in the past couple of years, and even for better-floor units, agents are listing them about 5% lower than the one she recommended.”
“What does that have to do with me?”
Song Yunfei smiled and said, “I’m just worried the clients might end up at a loss, and I don’t want this to damage our reputation. These two clients seem quite difficult to deal with.”
“So, if it’s convenient for you, could you help me step in and stop them a bit? As long as they don’t sign the contract. I’ll be there soon. If this deal goes through, we can count it as shared performance.”
“Or, Sister Li, if you can help them secure a better property, the performance can be counted as yours.”
These two were basically qualified leads already. As long as someone stepped in at the right moment—or even snatched them over—the commission could be secured.
And it would be justified. Moreover, Sister Li and Li Shan were already at odds. Song Yunfei didn’t believe she wouldn’t be tempted.
There was silence on the other end of the phone for a few seconds before Sister Li finally said, “Alright, I understand. Come over as soon as possible.”
It seemed Sister Li still didn’t want to completely burn bridges with Li Shan—or perhaps she didn’t want to be used as a pawn by Song Yunfei just to fight over a small commission. She preferred to sit back and reap the benefits.
When the time came, Song Yunfei would clash with Li Shan, while she could take the money without lifting a finger—why not?
However, this was enough, and it was exactly what Song Yunfei wanted. After all, she and Li Shan were bound to argue. If Sister Li managed to take the clients away and she ended up not getting a single cent, that would be too much of a loss.
Song Yunfei hung up and glanced at Chu Jinhan. “I’m heading to the sales office first. You can eat lunch on your own.”
Chu Jinhan said, “I’ll take you there.”
“Don’t you need to go to the factory?”
“I’ve already asked Mr. He for leave.” Chu Jinhan stood up, put Quanquan into the cage, and also placed the dog bowl inside.
Song Yunfei nodded. “Alright then.”
The two of them quickly went downstairs and rode an electric bike to the sales office. Along the way, the sun was blazing, and Song Yunfei felt thoroughly baked by the heat.
She couldn’t help but think she should have let Wu Wei drive the car back from the high-speed rail station earlier. Previously, she had found the train station parking fee too expensive and was worried about scratches, so she had asked Wu Wei to take the car away.
Fortunately, Chu Jinhan rode the electric bike quickly. The hot wind blowing across her face carried a hint of coolness.
Soon, Song Yunfei arrived at the sales office and looked at Sister Li.
Sister Li also glanced at her, raised her chin slightly, and signaled for her to go upstairs.
Song Yunfei cast a grateful look at Sister Li and hurried upstairs.
Arriving at the VIP room on the second floor, Song Yunfei pushed the door open and, as expected, saw Li Shan and Mr. Zhao’s couple inside.
A contract was laid out on the table, but the couple was still flipping through brochures and had not rushed to sign.
Li Shan sat nearby with furrowed brows, her face clearly showing impatience.
They had been about to sign earlier, but Li Yi suddenly came in and interrupted, bringing in a new property to show them. She claimed it was for Li Shan to see, but in reality, it was meant for the couple.
The couple had already been looking for a long time, and upon hearing about a new property, their curiosity was immediately piqued—they wanted to take a look.
By now, they were still discussing the property, occasionally asking Li Shan questions, and she had long since grown impatient.
Just as Li Shan was about to say something, the door to the reception room was pushed open, and Song Yunfei appeared at the doorway.
All three people inside turned to look at her at the same time, their attention instantly focused on her.
Li Shan’s expression was unpleasant.
Mr. Zhao looked a bit awkward, while Mrs. Zhao quietly tugged at her husband’s sleeve, then lifted her chin with a proud, almost entitled expression—as if to say she was the customer and could do whatever she wanted.
Song Yunfei smiled, stepped inside, and said, “Sorry, I was handling some personal matters outside just now. A colleague told me you two had arrived, so I rushed back. I hope I didn’t keep you waiting?”
“It’s fine, it’s fine—ugh!” Mr. Zhao hadn’t finished speaking before he was pinched by Mrs. Zhao.
Perhaps because Li Shan had spoken ill of Song Yunfei earlier, Mrs. Zhao had developed some hostility toward her. Especially seeing her husband’s reaction, she even began to suspect that Song Yunfei had privately tried to seduce him.
Mrs. Zhao said coldly, “No, you didn’t delay us. We were just looking at the property recommended by Manager Li. We’re quite satisfied with it.”
