The principal quickly waved his hands: “Not a trouble at all, not at all. It’s our school’s honor to have nurtured such an outstanding student.”
Those nearby overheard the conversation but were thinking: What a background this student has.
His eldest uncle is the CEO of the Lu family, his second uncle was a former top influencer turned venture capitalist, his aunt is the director of Kangren Hospital… and he himself is doing so well…
This is straight out of a story for the male lead in a romance!
Yin Siyao sat alone in a discreet corner at the side-back of the auditorium.
Watching the white figure on stage, surrounded by flowers, applause, and honor, speaking with calm composure, he couldn’t help but curl the corners of his lips into a faint smile. His eyes were full of pride and tenderness.
His little dog had truly grown up.
He had shed his youthful awkwardness and recklessness and become so dazzling, so remarkable.
A mixture of pride, relief, and an indescribable soft warmth flowed slowly through his heart.
The speech ended to a tide of applause.
Leng Keyan bowed and stepped down amid the claps. Under many watchful eyes, he walked through the crowd to Yin Siyao.
He handed over the flowers he had received from his uncles as if presenting a treasure, his eyes sparkling with unrestrained joy and anticipation: “Teacher Yin, this is for you. Do you like it?”
Yin Siyao looked at his shining eyes and the faint beads of sweat on his nose, and his heart melted.
He took the heavy bouquet, symbolizing honor and blessings, and gently nodded: “Mm, it’s beautiful. Congratulations on graduating, Yanyan. You were amazing today!”
Leng Keyan’s smile bloomed. He couldn’t help leaning closer, speaking in a voice meant only for him: “Teacher Yin, you looked especially handsome today. I almost got distracted watching you on stage.”
Lu Chen walked over holding Luo Bingbing’s hand, while Lu Er and Song Jingmo followed beside them.
“Keyan, congratulations on graduating.”
Lu Chen’s face carried a rare gentle smile as he patted Leng Keyan’s shoulder. “I booked a place for a small graduation dinner. Let’s take this chance to have a meal together.”
“Thank you, Uncle!”
Lu Chen then glanced at Yin Siyao and nodded. “Siyao, thank you for your hard work. This rascal must have caused you plenty of trouble along the way.”
Yin Siyao responded politely: “Mr. Lu, you’re too kind. Keyan is very outstanding.”
Luo Bingbing also smiled, linking her arm with Leng Keyan’s other side: “Come on, let’s celebrate properly today.”
The dinner was at one of A City’s top private restaurants, famous for its impeccable service and exquisite dishes, usually requiring months of reservation.
That Lu Chen arranged it here shows how much he valued it.
Everyone got into cars and headed to the restaurant.
Though called Leng Keyan’s graduation dinner, it felt more like a warm family gathering.
Lu Chen and Luo Bingbing sat at the head seats, Lu Er and Song Jingmo beside them, and Leng Keyan stuck close to Yin Siyao.
The atmosphere was light and cheerful, everyone chatting and recalling amusing stories from Leng Keyan’s childhood.
Leng Keyan was especially excited today—not only graduating, but also reunited with family, and with Yin Siyao accompanying him the whole time.
In high spirits, he drank more than usual, toasting first Lu Chen and Luo Bingbing, then Lu Er and Song Jingmo, and finally clinging to Yin Siyao to have several more drinks.
From academic achievements to family reunion, to having the one he loved nearby, the feeling of being surrounded by happiness in every direction made Leng Keyan feel a little light-headed.
He accepted every toast without refusal, drinking happily each time.
At first, Yin Siyao reminded him to drink less, but seeing him so delighted, he let him be.
As a result, before the meal even ended, Leng Keyan’s gaze became hazy, and he started talking more.
One moment, he was hugging Lu Er, shouting, “Second Uncle, I love you the most!” The next, he leaned on Lu Chen, wrapping his arms around him: “First Uncle, can I choose my own graduation gift?”
Even Song Jingmo wasn’t spared, blurting: “Aunt, is this year’s graduation gift from Second Uncle or from you? You know what I like, right?”
Song Jingmo sighed: “I don’t know what you like, but I have a general idea of what Siyao likes.”
Leng Keyan grinned: “That’s fine, all my gifts are for Teacher Yin.”
After securing his gifts, he leaned against Yin Siyao, acting cute: “Teacher Yin, I’m especially happy today…”
His cheeks flushed, his gaze hazy, and his smile silly, he continued: “I have uncles who love me, a beautiful wife who spoils me, I’m the happiest person in the world!”
His words were loud and blunt, causing a brief silence in the private room.
Lu Er almost choked on his tea, holding back laughter and looking at Song Jingmo.
Lu Chen shook his head, amused, while Luo Bingbing covered her mouth to giggle.
Yin Siyao’s face turned bright red. Under the table, he gave Leng Keyan a sharp kick and scolded softly: “Nonsense. If you’ve had too much, keep quiet.”
“I’m not saying nonsense…”
Leng Keyan wasn’t upset by the kick; instead, he tilted his head to nuzzle his shoulder, mumbling: “It’s just happiness…”
Yin Siyao, exasperated, could only coax her: “If you’ve had too much, behave a bit. You’re shameless, and I still want you.”
Leng Keyan clung tighter to his arm, his drunken eyes soft and adoring: “You’re my wife, my prettiest, best wife…”
Seeing he was truly drunk and talking more and more ridiculously, Yin Siyao had no choice but to take him away early.
“Sorry, Yanyan had too much to drink. I’ll take him back to rest.”
If they didn’t leave now, he’d embarrass him further.
Lu Chen nodded: “Better go, this kid’s mischievous and playful.”
Lu Er waved cheerfully: “This little drunkard has terrible drinking manners. Take him away quickly.”
Yin Siyao tried to lift Leng Keyan, but he was limp as mud, constantly squirming into his arms, impossible to stabilize.
Sighing, he bent down, slipping his arms under his knees and back, and with a firm lift, held him steadily across his arms.
Lu Chen looked a bit concerned: “Need help? I can call an assistant…”
Yin Siyao: “No, I’ve got this. I already called a designated driver.”
Lu Er glanced at Song Jingmo, teasing with a knowing smile: “Orthopedic doctors sure are strong.”
The drunk Leng Keyan was quite satisfied with this position, hugging Yin Siyao’s neck and burying his heated cheek in his collarbone, letting out a contented sigh.
Mumbling vaguely: “Wife… hug…”
Yin Siyao’s body stiffened slightly, feeling the complete dependence of the person in his arms and the amused gazes around them, his ears burning red.
Under everyone’s suppressed laughter, Yin Siyao kept a straight face, nodded to them, and walked steadily out of the private room.
Moonlight poured like water along the path to the parking lot.
Yin Siyao held the heavy, alcohol-scented little dog in his arms with steady steps.
Though he spoke nonsense when drunk, seeing his unguarded sleeping face and feeling his total dependence, Yin Siyao felt a deep, indescribable warmth and peace in his heart.
“Happy graduation, my little dog.”
The future is long; he would always hold his little dog firmly in his arms.
