In the walk-in closet, Yin Siyao was staring at his wardrobe, troubled.
A University had invited him to go on stage and say a few words, but he had declined, citing a scheduled surgery.
He really didn’t like being the center of attention, and he especially didn’t want to draw scrutiny or gossip in such a public setting just because of his relationship with Leng Keyan.
But he couldn’t resist someone’s persistent coaxing.
Since last night, Leng Keyan had been like sticky candy, clinging to him relentlessly.
Yin Siyao was exhausted from being pestered, but he also genuinely wanted to witness this important moment in Leng Keyan’s life. In the end, he compromised.
However, he insisted on not speaking publicly, not sitting in the front row, and only watching from the back.
Now, the problem was: what to wear?
Too casual would be inappropriate, after all, it was a formal occasion.
Too formal would seem deliberate, which didn’t fit his intention of quietly observing.
Finally, he chose a light gray casual suit with good texture, paired with a white T-shirt underneath and dark fitted trousers.
It was neither overly grand nor too plain—just suitably polished for the occasion.
When he finished changing and walked out of the bedroom, Leng Keyan was in the living room, fiddling with his phone in boredom.
At the sound of his footsteps, he looked up. It was as if someone had pressed the pause button; he froze in place.
Leng Keyan stared at Yin Siyao without blinking, mouth slightly open.
Yin Siyao felt a bit awkward under that gaze and tugged at the hem of his suit. “What’s wrong? Is it that strange?”
Normally at the hospital, he was either in a white coat or simple casual clothes. He rarely dressed up like this.
“It’s not strange—not at all. You look amazing.”
Leng Keyan bounced up from the sofa and took a few steps to stand in front of him.
His voice was slightly husky, eyes fixed on Yin Siyao. “You look so good in a suit.”
It wasn’t the cool, refined aura of his white coat, nor the soft, relaxed feel of home clothes.
It was a unique charm between a mature professional and a gentle senior—both composed and with a trace of restraint. It was devastatingly attractive.
Under such an unabashed, assertive gaze, Yin Siyao felt his ears warm.
He put on a serious face. “Had enough? We’re going to be late if you don’t hurry.”
“Not enough.”
Leng Keyan’s honesty was almost maddening. He didn’t step back; instead, he moved closer and wrapped his arms around Yin Siyao’s waist.
Pulling him close, he bent down and kissed him.
The kiss came suddenly and passionately, full of awe and possessiveness.
Yin Siyao was caught off guard, lips firmly sealed.
“Mm… Leng Keyan, my clothes…”
Finally turning his head to breathe, his first instinct was to push him away.
This guy was always so reckless and impulsive.
His freshly changed suit jacket was now wrinkled, and the collar of his T-shirt had been pulled askew…
Seeing Yin Siyao’s slightly disheveled outfit, Leng Keyan’s face showed a mix of guilt and eagerness to please.
Like a mischievous dog that had done something wrong: “Sorry, sorry, Teacher Yin. I got too excited. Don’t be mad; I’ll fix it.”
He quickly let go, carefully smoothing out the wrinkles in the suit.
Then he straightened the T-shirt collar, handling it as if it were something fragile.
After tidying him up, he stepped back and scrutinized him. Only after confirming perfection did he exhale in relief.
Then, taking Yin Siyao’s hand and intertwining their fingers, his eyes sparkled. “Okay, let’s go.”
Yin Siyao was simultaneously exasperated and amused by the whole sequence. Seeing Leng Keyan’s radiant smile and tightly held hand, his minor annoyance over the disheveled clothes melted away.
Sighing, he allowed Leng Keyan to lead him out.
On the day of the ceremony, the sky was a clear, brilliant blue.
Sunlight poured generously over A University’s campus, gilding the ancient buildings and lush trees in a dazzling glow.
Graduates from the medical school had gathered outside the designated hall early, wearing their matching academic robes and square caps, their faces radiating youthful joy and anticipation for the future.
Leng Keyan wasn’t wearing a graduation robe. As the outstanding graduate representative of the medical school, he was required to give a speech, so he wore a custom white suit.
The finely tailored white fabric hugged his young, upright figure, highlighting broad shoulders and a narrow waist.
Beneath it, a light blue shirt and matching tie completed the ensemble, with simple, elegant silver cufflinks peeking out.
Sunlight fell on him, softening his features and making his handsome face even more striking.
His demeanor was noble, more like a prince from a drama than a graduating student.
Standing at the edge of the stage, he occasionally adjusted his tie, even though it didn’t need adjusting.
His gaze repeatedly flicked toward the hall entrance, filled with clear anticipation and nerves.
The graduation ceremony began in a solemn yet warm atmosphere, the grand hall filled to capacity.
The university president delivered the opening speech for the medical school graduates.
When introducing the guest speakers, a small stir arose in the audience.
“First, let us warmly welcome our distinguished alumnus, CEO of Lu Group, and a key member of our board—Mr. Lu Chen!”
Lu Chen walked steadily onto the stage, accompanied by the university leadership.
A perfectly tailored dark suit projected a strong but understated presence. His few words of blessing and encouragement drew thunderous applause, especially from the business school students, whose eyes shone with admiration.
Then the president’s voice grew even more enthusiastic: “Next, please welcome the outstanding graduate representative of our medical school, and the youngest director of Kangren Hospital—Dr. Song Jingmo!”
Song Jingmo took the stage calmly, wearing a deep blue suit, exuding refined elegance.
His speech focused on the responsibilities and ideals of a doctor, delivered in a calm but powerful tone, deeply moving and inspiring the medical students present.
Finally, the president scanned the audience with evident pride: “Now, let us welcome this year’s outstanding graduate representative of the medical school—Leng Keyan!”
Amid a wave of applause, Leng Keyan walked onto the spotlighted podium. His white suit shone even brighter under the lights.
Tall and composed, his face serene, the usual playful mischief gone, he exuded the poise of an exemplary graduate.
The president stood beside him, observing the brilliant Leng Keyan on stage, then glanced at Lu Chen sitting in the front row and at Song Jingmo who had just finished speaking, his mind as clear as a mirror.
During a break in the ceremony, the president approached Lu Chen with a smile: “Mr. Lu, your nephew is truly low-key. Such an outstanding child—he should have had more attention from us earlier.”
Lu Chen smiled faintly, his gaze on Leng Keyan, who was posing for photos with the university leaders. “Let the child walk his own path. I’ve changed my mind at the last minute; thank you, President.”
