VHBF – Chapter 54 Movie King Daddy (Part 13)

The Villain is Happy Being a Father 8 min read 54 of 186 89

The director announced the rules. In order to let the kids adapt to the variety show, the first episode would mainly focus on fun and games. Starting from the following episodes, the show would move into multi-day segments at a farmhouse, and that would be when the real reality show began.

When the rules were announced, the dads didn’t react much, but the little ones clapped and cheered. They didn’t really understand the details—what they heard and understood was that they could play at the amusement park all day today!

Don’t be fooled by the glamorous lives of these celebrity children. In reality, their fathers were busy working and flying all over the place every day. Sometimes, once a film was started, it could take months before they’d see their children again. Opportunities to spend time playing with their kids were few and far between.

And children naturally loved to play—especially at an amusement park, which was like a holy land in their hearts!

Many of the children here had never gone to an amusement park with their fathers before. The youngest son of the movie emperor, Mo Yang, had never even been to one at all. His parents, Mo Qi and his wife, were both well-known actors in the entertainment industry, so the child was always left at home with his grandparents, never going anywhere.

Yet, instead of being excited about this, little tyrant Mo Yang was standing still, staring dazedly at… the movie emperor Zhu Ji’s baby daughter???

“Wipe your drool!” His father mercilessly teased him.

Mo Yang’s chubby little face flushed bright red in shame and anger.

After announcing the rules, the director invited the kids to introduce themselves one by one.

The five little ones lined up from tallest to shortest.

Yinyin glanced at her dad, hesitated, then took a step forward—but in the end clung tightly to his pant leg, not daring to move.

Zhu Ji smiled, squatted down, and kissed her forehead. “Be good, don’t be afraid.”

It was the first time the little dumpling had been kissed by her daddy. Her face turned red, her eyes sparkled, and she happily scampered onto the stage.

Among all the children present, Yinyin was the youngest and the shortest. The little tyrant shoved his hands into his pockets and said coolly, “Hey, you, come stand next to me!”

Yinyin looked left, then right, and ran over. Standing still, she piped up in her sweet, milky voice, “I’m not called ‘hey.’ My name is Yinyin. It’s very rude not to call people by their names!”

Mo Yang: “……”

The director chuckled and, holding a small loudspeaker, said, “Kids, how about you all introduce yourselves?”

The five tiny radish-heads reacted in different ways. The movie emperor Xie’s son, Xie An’an, stood first in line, wearing a serious expression as he nodded. He was the eldest brother and had to take the lead for the younger ones.

Five-year-old Zhao Yuanyuan shrank shyly, her voice barely louder than a mosquito’s buzz. “Okay.”

Though timid, she had naturally long, slender legs inherited from her model mother.

Next in line was another five-year-old, Olympic champion Yang’s son, Yang Chaopao. He was shorter by a bit, but unlike Yuanyuan, he wasn’t shy at all, smiling as he cheerfully agreed.

Then came little tyrant Mo Yang. With his hands stuffed in his pockets, he raised his chin, reluctantly giving the director some face.

Finally, it was Yinyin’s turn. Everyone looked at her. Instinctively, she turned to her father first. Seeing his encouraging eyes, she gave a determined little nod.

The director grinned. “Why don’t we let little Yinyin introduce herself first?”

Yinyin straightened up even more, standing ramrod straight. Her chubby little face was tense with concentration. In her crisp little milk voice, she enunciated carefully:

“Hello, everyone. My name is Yinyin. I’m three years old. My favorite person is Daddy. My special skill is picking up bottles. My biggest wish is for Daddy to always have food to eat and to be happy every day.”

After saying that, she tilted her head slightly. There were so many unfamiliar uncles and kids here. The children she had met before always bullied or laughed at her. So she thought for a moment and added deliberately:

“Yinyin is obedient just like Daddy. So the uncles and little friends can’t bully Yinyin or Daddy, okay?”

Everyone: “……”

The introductions wrapped up quickly.

“Now, let’s begin the first game PK!”

“The babies will have their eyes blindfolded. They can walk, crawl, jump, or run forward. The dads will wait in front to catch them. Whoever catches their child the fastest and most accurately wins. First place gets 10 points, second place 5, third place 2, fourth place 1, and the last gets 0.”

Soon, the five little ones were brought to the starting line. It was a sandy ground, about twenty meters from start to finish.

The dads rushed up to comfort their children, teaching them how to move.

The soft sand made falling harmless, but it was difficult to walk or run steadily—especially with their short little legs and toddler proportions. Just walking without falling was already a blessing.

And to make it harder, the dads at the finish line weren’t allowed to make a sound. With blindfolds on, if a child went the wrong way and hugged the wrong dad—oh, that would be fun!

The director announced mercilessly, “If you find the wrong dad, you lose!”

Dads: “……”

This was too hard! They had to run blindfolded on sand, without guidance, and if they made a mistake, it was instant defeat!

All the fathers wore the same worried expression, especially when they saw the smallest one, Zhu Ji’s daughter, with those tiny little legs… could she even manage?

Wouldn’t she fall flat after just two steps?

The disadvantage of being young and short-legged was obvious. The others felt comforted—at least someone was doomed to come last. No matter how close Zhu Ji was to his daughter, when it came to physical ability, someone had to be at the bottom.

The dads calmly took their positions at the finish line.

Blindfolded, Yinyin saw only darkness. When the director shouted “Start!”, she clenched her fists and dashed forward.

The dads’ worries weren’t unfounded. That devilish director really was cruel. After just two steps, the kids were staggering—and Zhu Ji’s daughter went straight down onto the ground.

Zhu Ji: “……”

He frowned, his entire focus on his little dumpling who had plopped onto the sand.

Her cheeks turned bright red after tripping herself. Falling once usually meant falling twice. Sure enough, the four-year-old little tyrant beside her also fell. Unlike Yinyin, though, he wasn’t so good-natured.

After falling, he lay down in the sand, throwing a tantrum. “Not playing anymore! This game is stupid!”

Seeing his son acting like a brat—even if he was only four—Mo Qi’s face burned with shame. Especially when Zhu Ji’s daughter had also fallen, yet had gotten back up without making a fuss.

Mo Qi signaled to the director, asking if he could speak.

The director shook his head, but then squatted down in front of the sulking boy. “Look, little sister Yinyin also fell down, but now she’s ahead of you.”

Kids were competitive by nature, especially in front of a pretty little girl they liked.

Sure enough, the little tyrant immediately leapt up and ran forward furiously. But he went too fast, tripped again, and faceplanted into the sand.

Mo Qi: “……”

He thought his son would cry. After all, the boy had been spoiled rotten by his grandparents, used to getting his way. But surprisingly, Mo Yang just wiped the sand off his face and kept staggering forward.

Meanwhile, Yinyin wasn’t doing much better. Being the youngest, she had neither the stamina nor size advantage. Her tiny short legs wobbled on the sand, making Zhu Ji’s heart clench harder than any dangerous stunt he’d ever filmed.

Six-year-old Xie An’an and the Olympic champion’s son Yang Chaopao had the best speed, thanks to age and athletic genes. The two were way ahead, almost at the finish line.

Xie Liu chuckled and patted Zhu Ji’s shoulder. “Relax. This game favors the older kids. Your daughter’s doing fine—it’s just that ours are older and faster.”

He sounded modest, but his face clearly betrayed his smugness.

Zhu Ji ignored him, eyes glued to his struggling daughter.

Yinyin was working hard. She couldn’t lose—she had to win so she could take care of Daddy!

Before the race, she’d overheard the director say that the winner would get a reward. Ten thousand yuan! She didn’t really know how much that was, but the director had explained it was countless one-hundred-yuan bills. That meant Daddy could eat so, so many meals!

But with blindfolds on, it was impossible for them to run straight. Soon, Xie An’an veered off course—heading right toward Zhu Ji.

Xie Liu’s smile froze. He watched as his son ran past him, hugging another man’s leg with joy.

Son, how could you mistake someone else for your dad?!

Xie An’an tore off the blindfold, saw the long legs he was clinging to, then looked up at Zhu Ji’s handsome face. His cheerful cry of “Daddy, I won!” choked midway. “You—you’re Yinyin’s daddy, not mine… how, how…”

Xie Liu smacked his forehead, dragging his son back with a devastated face. That’s what you get for showing off. Retribution came quick!

The director gleefully announced, “Xie Liu and Xie An’an—eliminated!”

Yinyin faintly heard that someone had hugged her daddy! Her little short legs immediately sped up. No one was allowed to steal her daddy from her!
