VHBF – Chapter 2 The Playboy Daddy (Part 2)

The Villain is Happy Being a Father 10 min read 2 of 186 473

Everyone stared wide-eyed in disbelief!

Luo Sheng’s group of good-for-nothing friends: “!!!”

Anyone who knew Luo Sheng knew exactly what kind of person he was. The Luo family was an old and prestigious family in City A—unlike the Bai family who had built their wealth from scratch, the Luo family had been a prominent clan for generations, their lineage tracing all the way back to the Republican era.

Luo Sheng was the only son of the current Luo family head—the one and only!

From a young age, the old Mr. and Mrs. Luo had spoiled him outrageously. Even though his father usually tried to play the strict one, the two elders at home, along with his mother, always sided with him. Whatever he wanted, he got. He was raised into a lawless brat, domineering from the start.

He didn’t improve much when he grew up either. Although he didn’t gamble, visit brothels, or take drugs, he’d done every other outrageous thing: street racing, clubbing, drinking, fighting—you name it, he’d done it. He was famous for being a brash little troublemaker.

In contrast, the son of Luo Sheng’s second uncle—his older cousin—was the epitome of excellence, the model child. By the usual meritocratic standards, it was uncertain who would inherit the Luo family in the end.

Three years ago, Mr. Luo had finally reached his limit after a street racing incident and made a deal with his son. He forcibly sent Luo Sheng abroad to study. He had only just returned.

After disappearing from the social scene for three years, some of the younger crowd didn’t recognize him. Curious, they asked those nearby, “Who’s that?”

“That guy…” After getting the lowdown, even those unfamiliar with Luo Sheng now understood what kind of person he was—a rich heir, an unrepentant playboy. Those labels practically covered Luo Sheng’s handsome face.

Everyone was even more stunned. Was the little dumpling blind? Ignored all her Bai relatives and picked an outsider???

And not just any outsider—a damn useless playboy??!!!

The Bai relatives were frozen in shock for a long time. Second Uncle Bai gave a few awkward coughs and forced a laugh. “Yinyin is still little. She’s just joking around. Just a joke!”

He squatted back down in front of the dumpling. “Yinyin, I’m your second uncle. This is your third uncle, fourth uncle, and over there is…”

He went around and introduced every relative. “Blood ties can’t be severed. We’re your dad’s brothers…”

“Yes, yes, Yinyin, don’t be afraid. No matter who you choose, we’ll all treat you like our own precious daughter. However you lived at home before, it’ll be the same with us—nothing will change!”

But seeing that the dumpling still didn’t respond and that her big, round eyes kept staring at that infamous playboy, Second Uncle Bai and the others grew restless and made another suggestion: “How about Yinyin rotates between us?”

While they were still discussing, the tiny dumpling, using her small size and young age to her advantage, darted through the forest of legs around her like a little firecracker and charged straight toward the brown-haired young man.

Her little mouth opened and closed without sound—it was unclear what she was calling out—until she leapt into his arms and clung to him. That’s when Luo Sheng finally heard what the little dumpling had been shouting.

“Daddy, hug!”

Luo Sheng: “……”

His gang of buddies, all sitting nearby, stared at him in horror, fingers trembling as they pointed. They heard it too.

“W-When did you have such a big daughter?!”

Then again, something didn’t add up. This was the child of Mr. and Mrs. Bai! Their imaginations ran wild as they shuddered. “Come on, Brother Luo, what are you hiding from us?!”

Given Brother Luo’s personality, he’d never been the kind of guy kids liked. Even cats and dogs avoided him. How could a three-year-old fall for him at first sight???

They’d sooner believe he wore women’s clothes in private!

The little dumpling paid no mind to the stares around her. She was as bold as ever, her actions pure and straightforward. Slapping her hands and feet against him, she scrambled up before the man could react. Her tiny paws wrapped around his neck, and her soft little face rubbed against his chin, leaving Luo Sheng drenched in the scent of baby milk.

She giggled silly, eyes squinting in bliss. “Hehe… Daddy…”

Luo Sheng: “……”

Where the hell did this little rascal come from???

He was just here to watch the show, and somehow a daughter dropped into his lap???

Under the suspicious gazes of his friends, Luo Sheng calmly peeled the child off and set her down beside the sofa. “I’m not your dad.”

All eyes turned to him at this point. Those nearby heard the exchange and silently sighed—this little dumpling was truly pitiful. Only three years old and already lost her protection. In her confusion, she must’ve mistaken the wrong person as her dad…

Luo Sheng thought the same. For once, he patiently tried to reason with the tiny brat. “I’m not your dad.”

He’d originally wanted to say, Your dad is dead, but when he looked into her big, bright, trusting eyes, he couldn’t bring himself to say it. Instead, he said gently, “Don’t go calling just anyone ‘Dad.’”

But the dumpling was confused and stubbornly insisted, “You are my daddy!”

“I’m not.”

“You are!”

Everyone: “……”

The moon hung low like water. In the summer night, cicadas chirped loudly from the tall tree in the courtyard, its branches reaching all the way to the second floor. Through the window, one could still see its dense foliage.

Yinyin lay sprawled across a little desk, her tiny hand propping up her chin, pouting and dazing off.

The system couldn’t take it anymore and finally scolded her: “Little cub, you can’t just run up to someone and call them Daddy like that!”

“You scared him away…”

Yinyin retorted, “But… but a daddy is still a daddy!”

Trying to communicate with a mere three-year-old human cub, the system felt like it was losing strands of hair. It tried hard to explain, “He’s not your daddy right now!”

That villain was someone lawless and wild—how could he willingly become a doting father just because a cute little thing clung to him?

This was the first world, and for the first time ever, the Bureau decided to assign a three-year-old little baby as a host to carry out a mission.

As one of the Bureau’s top elite systems, System No. 3 pulled some strings and deliberately lowered the difficulty of the first world. It brought the little cub to a time before the villain turned dark—when Luo Sheng was still a carefree, idle, good-for-nothing young master…

But none of this meant anything to the little cub. As her daddy’s loyal little fan, Yinyin firmly believed that her daddy was a good person. Every time the system tried to say that her daddy would become a big bad guy in the future, she would refuse to accept it and get into endless arguments with No. 3 about who was right. Sometimes, the system felt that the stubbornness of human cubs was beyond imagination.

The system patiently said, “Just pretend your daddy lost his memory and forgot about you, okay?”

“Little cub, just think: if one day you forgot your daddy, and then he suddenly came looking for you and tried to take you away, would you be happy about that?”

“I would never forget Daddy! Uncle System.”

System: “……”

The system thought this was going to be another failed lesson. But to its surprise, the next day, the little cub excitedly declared, “Uncle System, I thought of a good way to get close to Daddy!”

“I asked Auntie Zhang, and she said that if you want someone to like you, you have to boost your sense of presence!”

The system didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. Clearly, Auntie Zhang had just been gossiping with the other maids about her daughter’s plan to chase after her college crush.

That girl’s crush owned a shop near the university. To get his attention, she asked her mom for money, saying she needed to keep showing up and hanging around his shop to boost her presence. That was how this “sense of presence” idea came about. The problem was—

“Little cub, that’s how you chase a boyfriend. You’re chasing your daddy! What’s it got to do with you?!”

The tiny dumpling stood up on her chair, gazing loftily at the dense treetops, eyes narrowed as if immersed in her own little world, completely ignoring the system’s protests.

She muttered to herself, “I’ll wait outside Daddy’s house every day. That way, Daddy will get to know me!”

The little dumpling finally accepted the idea that Daddy didn’t remember her, and with her tiny brain working overtime, she came up with this clumsy plan.

Afraid she might forget it, little Yinyin even found paper and pen to draw it out: a house, a little figure in a dress squatting outside the door, and an adult inside.

When she finished, she colored the little person’s dress pink with her pink crayon and added her favorite bow, then secretly smiled as she colored Daddy in blue.

Her chubby little paws gripped the crayon as she earnestly drew and mumbled to herself, “Girls are pink, boys are blue. Daddy is a boy, and Yinyin is a girl…”

System: “……”

At the end, Yinyin thought for a bit and drew a crooked line to divide the page. In the blank half, she redrew the adult figure holding the little girl’s hand.

Looking at the drawing, she could already imagine Daddy holding her hand after the plan succeeded—it made the little dumpling feel so happy!

The system, a glowing mass of formless light, was practically warped out of shape. How good could a three-year-old’s drawing be? In the finished picture, the adult towered above the sky, taller than the sun itself, with arms longer than trees—only then could he hold the tiny dumpling’s hand…

So… is your daddy a superhero?

The system didn’t dare ask. It was afraid if it brought it up, the little cub might actually give her daddy a pair of wings and send him flying into the sky.

In City A, there were only a few top-tier residential areas, and coincidentally, the Bai and Luo families lived close to each other—in the same neighborhood, in fact.

The next morning, the little dumpling got up obediently without being called.

She begged Auntie Zhang, the nanny to carry her over and sat crouched on the small steps outside the Luo family’s front gate. Even though it was still morning, the summer sun was already blazing.

As noon approached, Yinyin’s stomach started growling. In her pink little backpack was last night’s drawing and a few pieces of milk candy.

She had waited almost half the day without seeing even a shadow of her daddy. She carefully took out a candy and popped it into her mouth.

“Uncle System, I have to save my candies. I can’t eat them all—I need to wait until Daddy comes back!”

System: “…Oh.”

Perhaps God couldn’t bear to see such a cute dumpling suffer, so He left the door and windows slightly ajar. Yinyin didn’t manage to wait for her daddy—but she did end up waiting for her daddy’s daddy.

Mr. Luo was just getting back from work and noticed a tiny figure sitting outside the house. Curious, he walked closer—

A two- or three-year-old little girl in a dress, porcelain-featured and adorably delicate, was resting her chin on her hand, sitting on the steps, staring unblinkingly in the direction of the house.

He softened his voice and asked, “Who are you looking for?”

“Are you lost?”

The little dumpling didn’t know who this man was. After a whole morning of waiting, she was a bit sleepy and dazed, and reflexively answered, “I’m looking for Daddy.”

“Who’s your daddy?”

Yinyin froze—she forgot to ask what Daddy’s name was.

She stood up and gestured with her hands, “Daddy is the best-looking one, super tall, with big eyes, very clean, and he knows how to tie my hair into braids…”

She talked and talked, but never actually got to the point. The dumpling was already hopelessly immersed in her own ideal image of Daddy.

Mr. Luo: “……”

He pointed to his house. “Then why are you waiting here?”

“Because Daddy lives here! I heard his surname is Luo—this is Daddy’s house!”
