VHBF -Chapter 176 The Evil Dragon Daddy (Part 7)

The Villain is Happy Being a Father10 min read176 of 186

After the storage ring was opened, a huge pile of heavenly treasures spilled onto the ground. Ten-thousand-year immortal ganoderma, thousand-year spirit fruits, hundred-year myriad-fruit, and other precious spiritual herbs and fruits released their spiritual energy all at once. The mingled aura and fragrance formed a strange, intoxicating scent, and a vast surge of spiritual energy rushed forward, instantly refreshing the spirit.

The people of the Fantasy Continent stared in disbelief—those foolish cultivators were actually this generous?

But then their expressions tightened, vigilance flaring up, followed by deep regret.
Those damn Daoists weren’t trying to curry favor just to steal the little master from them, were they?

Poor them—after trekking across mountains and rivers to reach the Eastern Continent, they’d come to fight and protect Lord Dragon Venerable and the little master, so they hadn’t brought any rare treasures with them. The few things they’d kept in their storage rings had all been offered up on the very first day the little master was born. Now all they could do was watch helplessly as those stinking Daoists presented treasures before the little master!

Shameless! Absolutely shameless!

The little milk dragon had long since lost patience. Flapping its tiny, chubby wings, it clumsily circled around the pile of treasures on the ground.

Once the servant—the red-robed cardinal—had poured everything out of the ring, the little dragon let out a babyish ao and pounced forward, sprawled atop the heap of spirit fruits, greedily twitching its tiny nose as it sniffed here and there.

All the regret and resentment the believers felt toward the cultivators vanished without a trace at the sight of the little master’s adorable, gluttonous look. They couldn’t help but break into full-on “auntie smiles.”

The dragon watched coldly, adding another note to his mental little ledger: the eggling was not only timid and clingy, but also greedy. This wouldn’t do. As a future powerhouse dragon, he should learn to overcome all desires—only then could he become invincible like his father!

After sniffing every single spirit fruit and herb, the chubby little dragon reached out its fat paw without hesitation, dragged out a ten-thousand-year immortal ganoderma, and held it up to gnaw on. Though its mouth was small, its eating speed was not slow at all. In just a few bites, it finished off a ganoderma that was half its body height, then immediately moved its little dragon claws toward the other fruits.

First the ten-thousand-year ganoderma was wiped out, then the spirit fruits, then the myriad-fruit. In just a short while, the small mountain of treasures on the ground was completely cleared away, leaving behind only about twenty small bottles.

Everyone was dumbstruck!

Th-the little master seemed to have… quite the appetite…

The believers began calculating whether their family fortunes would be enough to raise the little master.

Although Lord Dragon Venerable did not allow them to take the little master away to raise her themselves, the Daoists’ act of delivering food gave them inspiration. If they couldn’t bring the little master back, that was fine—they could smuggle supplies over from the Fantasy Continent for the little master to eat.

The chubby little dragon still seemed unsatisfied. It grabbed one of the small bottles and sniffed it. After confirming there was something tasty inside, it struggled mightily to open the stopper with its fat little paw. But its paws were too short and clumsy; even after using all its strength, it couldn’t get the lid off. Instead, with one careless squeeze, it crushed the bottle into powder.

Believers: “……”

Ao Su: “……”

The believers forced a smile and swiftly found excuses for the little master. A little master possessing Lord Dragon Venerable’s bloodline must surely harbor tremendous power within—once grown, she would certainly become an incomparably powerful dragon!

In that case, accidentally crushing a small bottle or two was nothing strange at all. It was all those damn Daoists’ fault for stuffing the stoppers so tightly—bringing offerings like that showed a complete lack of sincerity!

Ao Su’s lips curved slightly in satisfaction. His cub was meant to be this tough. He decided that in the future he’d find some giant rocks for the cub to squeeze and pound, to train her strength!

The tiny milk dragon froze, staring blankly at the powder in its claws.

“System Uncle… Yin, Yin… is really strong!”

The system glanced lazily at her. “Little hatchling, you’re a dragon now. A dragon, understand? Like the ones in the cartoons you’ve watched!”

The dumpling wasn’t panicked at all about suddenly becoming a dragon—because she realized that Daddy was a dragon too, just like her!

She dug around in the powder in her claws and pulled out a small green pellet. The sweet grassy fragrance mixed with a scent that instinctively appealed to dragons made her swallow involuntarily. She really wanted to eat this candy-like pellet, but she forced herself to hold back.

Suddenly, she remembered—she had eaten everything just now and hadn’t left any for Daddy?!

To YinYin, a full-on daddy’s-girl, this was simply unthinkable. “System Uncle, YinYin has become so greedy… YinYin isn’t a good child anymore.”

She sniffed, and the system was so amused by her words that it rolled back and forth in its space. “Little hatchling, you’re a dragon. A dragon!”

“You’re lying, System Uncle. Daddy is also a dragon, but Daddy doesn’t eat.”

Since hatching, YinYin had almost never seen her dragon dad eat anything. In her understanding, maybe dragons didn’t need to eat at all. A greedy little kid like her—she was just too bad.

The chubby little dragon held the pill and stared at it, as if hesitating whether to eat it. Just as everyone thought she’d gobble it down without hesitation like before, the little milk dragon turned her round body, clumsily flapping her tiny wings as she wobbled toward Lord Dragon Venerable.

The dragon merely watched and did not interfere with the cub’s awkward flight. In his view, a little eggling that could only barely manage to stumble through a few meters of flight after being born for several days was truly far too stupid.

He would have to train the eggling properly.

In truth, the fact that YinYin could already manage to fly a few meters was nothing short of miraculous. When she was still human, the three-year-old YinYin could barely walk steadily—let alone now, having suddenly become a dragon cub with four little paws and a pair of wings.

Perhaps because she was so young, her adaptability was even stronger than an adult’s. Curious by nature, and with the premise that Daddy was also a dragon, she adapted well to her new identity, even brimming with excitement.

Panting, she flapped her little wings, her tiny dragon tail held high. “System Uncle, YinYin is so amazing—I’m flying!”

Having become a little milk dragon, YinYin hadn’t yet learned how to speak with a dragon’s body, so she could only chatter with System Uncle. Otherwise, as a devoted daddy-fan, she would have preferred to share her joy with Daddy.

The system cast a sour glance at the black dragon. “Yes, you’re the best, little hatchling.”

“……”

After much effort, YinYin finally flew all the way to Daddy. With her two front paws, she carefully held up the green pill high above her head. “Miu… ao, ao…” Eat, eat—Daddy eat.

Ao Su: “……”

Even as the father of a hatchling, Ao Su understood what the babyish miu sounds meant, yet his eyelids still twitched involuntarily.

He pondered inwardly—could it be that his eggling was a little fool, since she still couldn’t speak properly?

Ao Su was a once-in-ten-thousand-years pure-blood dragon genius. The moment he hatched, he could fly, speak, and use spells. But his eggling… seemed to know nothing at all?

He felt that the road of educating a hatchling was long and arduous. So what on earth had possessed him, ten thousand years ago, to create an egg in the first place?

Under the little milk dragon’s eager, hopeful gaze, the dragon hesitated before accepting the absurdly tiny candy-like pellet resting in his palm.

The sweet grassy flavor, accompanied by a pleasant aura for dragons, slid down his throat. It was clearly just a little sugar bean with negligible spiritual power, yet the dragon felt that the Dao sect’s little crawling creatures might have some merit after all—at the very least, this candy bean tasted quite good.

Seeing the little milk dragon staring at him with wide eyes, secretly swallowing saliva, Ao Su felt a warm current flow through his heart.

Ten thousand years.

He had spent ten thousand years in this icy, lifeless pool. If he didn’t deliberately recall them, he had already forgotten many things.

There wasn’t a single living creature here—between heaven and earth, there had only ever been him, one lone dragon. Though a dragon’s heart was strong and didn’t feel loneliness, compared with the presence of a hatchling now, those days felt unbearably cold and desolate.

Had he remembered earlier that there was still a blood-related little eggling, he should have helped her hatch sooner. Perhaps then, those days wouldn’t have been so dull.

He could have taught the eggling to fly, to speak, to use her own power—watching her grow day by day, perhaps eventually becoming a mighty dragon able to rival her father.

A dragon’s elegant, beautiful scales were cold and hard, and so was his heart. Yet at this moment, he did not notice how soft his dragon eyes had become. The believers, however, were utterly stunned.

Seeing Daddy eat the treasure she’d offered, the little milk dragon was delighted. She spun in place twice, wobbling her chubby paws, clumsy and childish. The dragon spoke solemnly,
“Eggling, walk properly.”

The little milk dragon wasn’t afraid of her father’s authority at all. She boldly pounced onto him, rubbing against his neck again and again, constantly making miu sounds, tickling his neck until it itched.

Dragon Lord Ao Su: “……”

To everyone’s surprise, the next day the Myriad Beast Sect sent over a batch of snack pills specially refined for the little divine dragon.

Then, as if competing, the Sword Immortal Sect, the Alchemy Sect, the Free and Easy Sect, and others all sent people bearing various rare treasures—mostly precious spirit herbs and fruits.

All of it was happily accepted by the chubby little dragon. Greedy as she was, she stuffed her belly full, her small body visibly rounding out by an entire circle.

The dragon grew a little worried. Eating so much—could those tiny wings support her weight? Could she still fly?

Born to worry, the little milk dragon flapped her wings nonstop while staring blankly at the chains on Daddy’s body for several days.

She was so troubled that even her food stopped tasting good.

The chain piercing through the dragon’s chest broke the little milk dragon’s heart. From the moment she was born, YinYin had never worried this much about anything.

And it wasn’t just the little milk dragon who was worried—the people of the Fantasy Continent were too. They had stayed here for too long; it was time to return.

Too many people had come this time. They couldn’t keep lingering here—if the Fantasy Continent was left leaderless for too long, chaos would surely erupt.

Lord Dragon Venerable had been trapped here for ten thousand years. The believers had long since stopped holding out hope. They never thought they could rescue him—otherwise, why would those damn cultivators be so unconcerned about letting them stay here?

That dragon-binding chain and dragon-trapping formation were far too domineering and vicious. Even Lord Dragon Venerable was helpless against them, let alone anyone else.

What they worried about was the little master.

Were they really going to leave the little master here with Lord Dragon Venerable?

This place was dangerous, devoid of living creatures, and lacked the heavenly treasures needed to feed the little master. What if she became malnourished and couldn’t grow up properly?

These past days, they had witnessed the little milk dragon’s appetite. She ate extremely well, as if she could never get full. According to the cultivators, it might be because the little master had just hatched and needed immense energy, thus requiring constant eating to replenish herself.

Though the believers remained skeptical of that explanation.

After all… after eating so much, the little master had only grown fatter by a circle. There seemed to be no other change—she was still that clumsy, milky little chubby dragon!
