Ji Yi carefully laid Zhu Jie onto the bed, but the moment he did, she let out a loud howl and instantly became much more alert. “Are you trying to replace your wife or something?! That hurt like hell!” As she spoke, she flopped down onto her stomach in one swift motion, exposing her backside where dark blood was flowing like a torrent.
The blood had already soaked her skirt black, and the wound—deep enough to reveal bone—looked terrifying. Though the location was awkward, his heart ached all the same.
He let out sigh after sigh. “What do we do now? Old Ge, did you bring any antidote?”
“No!” Antidotes weren’t candy—why would he carry them around? Uncle Ge answered honestly at once.
“Then how are we supposed to detoxify the poison? Old Sun isn’t here either, and none of us know how!” Ji Yi said anxiously.
At that moment, Zhu Jie spoke weakly, “Actually… I do.”
Ji Yi clapped his hands in realization. “Right! How did I forget—you know medicine!”
But Zhu Jie lowered her voice even more and asked softly, “Um… do you really want to save me?”
Wasn’t that obvious? Ji Yi nodded immediately. “Of course. Seeing you like this, so weak, I…” He sighed again, and sure enough, his eyes were filled with genuine affection.
Zhu Jie, however, looked deeply moved. She held Ji Yi’s hand, rubbing against it gently like a little cat, her voice soft and sorrowful. “I don’t want to die either. It’s not that I’m afraid of death—I just can’t bear to leave you. The thought that if I go there, I’ll never see you again… my heart aches unbearably.” Tears streamed down her face.
Hearing such heartfelt words, Ji Yi’s heart softened as well. “Don’t worry, you won’t die. As long as I’m here, even if I have to climb mountains of blades or walk through seas of fire, I’ll cure your poison!”
But just as he spoke so emotionally, Zhu Jie suddenly revealed a mischievous smile. “No need. As long as you help me with one thing, the poison can definitely be cured! Are you willing?”
“Yes. I’ll do anything for you,” Ji Yi replied solemnly. As long as she could live, he would agree to anything.
Hearing that, Zhu Jie immediately perked up and raised her backside. Huh? What was she planning now? Even in this state, she wouldn’t settle down?
“W-What are you doing?” Ji Yi asked, eyes wide in shock.
Zhu Jie said loudly, “Then help me suck the poison out! Once it’s sucked out, I’ll be fine!” Her voice was suddenly full of energy.
Seeing her round little backside, Ji Yi’s eyes widened. No way… such a “beneficial” task? Though… wasn’t the condition a bit questionable?
He hesitated and looked at Zhu Jie, only to see her gazing back at him pitifully. But that little glint in her eyes—why did it feel so mischievous?
He swallowed hard and said weakly, “Well… I really can’t bring myself to do that. I’m afraid it might leave psychological trauma. How about we try another method?”
Zhu Jie immediately became unhappy. “Hey! Didn’t you just say you’d do anything? Is this harder than climbing mountains of blades or walking through seas of fire? It’s not, right?”
Ji Yi was instantly embarrassed. It… really didn’t seem like it was.
Zhu Jie pouted, looking as if she might burst into tears at any moment. Sniffling, she said, “I knew it—you don’t love me.”
“Who says I don’t?!” Ji Yi nearly jumped up. “It’s just sucking out poison, right? No problem…”
Then, with a resolute expression as if making a life-or-death decision, he shouted, “Uncle Ge, you come do it for her!”
“Ah?” Uncle Ge had been watching the show with amusement, never expecting to get dragged into it. If he had known, he would’ve stayed far away! “Um… young master, are you sure you don’t mind me handling that… location?”
“I’ll just treat it as pure medical treatment!” Ji Yi said seriously. “I’m a broad-minded man!”
Hearing this, Zhu Jie nearly exploded with anger. You idiot, you’re actually letting someone else do it? I’m your wife—married or not, I still count!
But what she didn’t expect was that despite such an outrageous request, Uncle Ge actually intended to go through with it. Pinching his nose, he leaned in—was he really going to suck out the poison with his mouth?!
