USWHC -Chapter 33 Sweet Words That Could Fool Someone to Death (Part 3)

The Ultimate Spoiled Wife: A Hilarious Shameless Couple 4 min read 33 of 376 2

Sister-in-law You was almost unable to cry anymore. She kept explaining anxiously, “There really wasn’t anything like that! I just… I just thought it seemed like someone was missing under the quilt, so I reached out to check! Yes, I was just checking to see if Erhan’s wife was there!”

When Old Madam Ji heard this, she could only let out a long sigh. Others might not know, but how could she not understand what Sister-in-law You had been trying to do?

Naturally, she hadn’t gone there to take liberties with her younger brother-in-law. But judging by how things looked now, her behavior really was hard to explain clearly.

Elder Brother Ji, however, didn’t believe her. He snorted coldly. “You probably saw that someone was missing from the bed and thought you could take advantage of the chaos to replace them with yourself, didn’t you?”

As he spoke, Elder Brother Ji refused to let the matter drop and continued, “Mother, I can’t keep this wife anymore. You have to stand up for me!”

“Oh, now I see!” Sister-in-law You immediately flared up, her voice rising sharply. “Elder Brother Ji, you’re just making excuses because you don’t want me anymore, aren’t you? I think you’re the shameless one! What, did you see how pretty Erhan’s wife is? Regretting marrying me now?”

“Fine then! Go ahead and hit me! If you can’t beat me to death today, you’re not a real man!”

Unexpectedly, that single sentence made Elder Brother Ji’s face flush red. What was this—had she struck a nerve?

Before anyone could figure it out, Old Madam Ji suddenly roared, “Are you two finished yet? Aren’t you ashamed, making such a scene!”

As she spoke, she glared and pointed at Sister-in-law You’s nose, shouting, “You—get inside the house!”

Only then did Sister-in-law You get up awkwardly and head toward the main room. But before entering, she still couldn’t help turning back to shoot Elder Brother Ji a fierce glare.

“Don’t talk to me about divorcing your wife,” Old Madam Ji scolded Elder Brother Ji irritably once Sister-in-law You had gone inside. Her voice was deliberately lowered so that Sister-in-law You wouldn’t hear. “Do you really think you could find someone better after divorcing her? Hmph. You know what our family situation is like. If you divorce her, you’ll end up a bachelor for the rest of your life!”

Hearing this, Elder Brother Ji still grumbled resentfully, “With a woman like her, any woman would be better!”

Even though he said that, the stick in his hand had already dropped down limply. Clearly, his anger had deflated.

Seeing this, Old Madam Ji sighed repeatedly and said, “It’s almost the New Year. Isn’t there an old saying—when the family is harmonious, everything prospers? What problem can’t be endured? I don’t believe the eldest daughter-in-law would do something so immoral. At most, it’s just a misunderstanding. Let’s all turn a blind eye and pretend this never happened.”

With that, she used Ji Mei’s arm for support to stand up, brushed the dirt off her clothes, and said, “Alright, disperse! Nothing more to see here.”

Once Old Madam Ji said that, who would dare continue the commotion?

Actually, Old Master Ji had already been hoping to calm things down.

As for Ji Yi and Zhu Jie, they had simply been watching the excitement. They knew the whole story better than anyone. Teasing Sister-in-law You was one thing, but they certainly hadn’t intended to harm her for real.

Ji Mei watched coldly from the side, only feeling that this family—and all these people—were ridiculous. Her only concern was that the matter might spread and ruin her chances of a good marriage, so naturally she preferred fewer problems.

As for Elder Brother Ji, he really was furious. But ask him to actually replace his wife? With no money, that was impossible. Poverty weakens one’s resolve—so he could only swallow his anger.

When Old Madam Ji entered the room, Sister-in-law You was still sitting on the edge of the bed, head lowered as she quietly cried. Seeing Old Madam Ji come in, she immediately pointed at her forehead and cried out, “Mother, look! Your son broke my head open when he hit me. You must stand up for me!”

Seeing the blood seeping from the corner of her forehead and her pitiful, tearful appearance, Old Madam Ji only spat in annoyance.

“You useless thing! Stand up for you? It’s already generous enough that I’m not throwing you out!”

“Hey, Mother, you can’t say that! Wasn’t I doing all this for you and for this family?” Sister-in-law You immediately wailed.

“For me? For this family?” Old Madam Ji said angrily. “Now I see—you’re good for nothing except making trouble! If you were going to do it, why did you just go straight in and start feeling around? Do you even have a brain?”

As she spoke, she angrily jabbed Sister-in-law You’s forehead with her finger again and again, fuming with rage.
