TRWSB – Chapter 246 Sharing Lotus Seeds

The Rebirth Waste Strikes Back 8 min read 246 of 262 15

Zhuang Hao was incredibly fast, but the beasts were fast too.

Qi Shaorong and the others continued covering Zhuang Hao’s retreat.

After weaving through various paths, Qi Shaorong eventually lost sight of him.

Zhuang Hao led the beasts in three wide circles before finally shaking off both the beasts and the Flying Tiger Tribe, then returned to the cave.

Xin Duolei looked at the dust-covered Zhuang Hao with eyes full of admiration. “Zhuang Hao, sorry. You were running so fast, we couldn’t keep up.”

Zhuang Hao smiled nonchalantly. “It’s fine.”

He took out the Half-Moon Lotus and asked, “How do we take this?”

“Just eat it raw. Each person can take up to two lotus seeds—more than that, the body can’t handle it. The first seed gives the strongest effect,” Xin Duolei explained.

Zhuang Hao looked at the lotus pod in his hand. “Only eight seeds in total.”

There were seven people: Qi Shaorong’s group of four, the Fred brothers, and Raymond. Since Raymond had contributed, Qi Shaorong gave him one seed. The remaining seed went to Zhuang Hao.

Raymond looked at the seed in his hand with excitement, never imagining he’d have such an opportunity.

After splitting up the seeds, everyone went off to cultivate. None of them knew that outside, the Flying Tiger Tribe had sent out many people to search for them.

Kaifeng looked up at the sky, feeling a little gloomy. “It’s already so late. Are we still looking for them?”

Jiada nodded matter-of-factly. “Of course. We need to find them to trade for lotus seeds. Hurry up—if they’ve already taken the seeds, there’s no point.”

Kaifeng gave a bitter smile. “Maybe they’ve already consumed them.”

He thought to himself: If I got something that valuable, I’d take it right away to be safe.

Jiada said enviously, “I heard that Half-Moon Lotus not only helps normal warriors become Totem Warriors, but also strengthens existing Totem Warriors. The benefits are enormous.”

Kaifeng smiled bitterly. “Yeah. I wonder who that person was who grabbed the lotus. He was so fast—probably a Totem Warrior.”

Jiada squinted and thought for a moment. “That person was likely the guardian of the wandering healer who helped Fred. Did you notice? Raymond’s leg is healed, even though the priest said it couldn’t be.”

Kaifeng nodded. “Seems like that healer is really something. But if he’s that skilled, shouldn’t the major tribes be worshipping him? Why would he be here?”

“No idea—maybe Fred knows,” Jiada replied.

“That guy who picked the lotus used some kind of powder. It knocked out the beasts. If we had that kind of formula in the tribe, hunting would be so much easier,” Jiada said longingly.

Kaifeng sighed with a hint of regret. “That’s only if he’s willing to share. Formulas like that are usually top-secret among the major tribes.”

Jiada nodded. “True.”

After consuming the Half-Moon Lotus seed, Xin Duolei successfully became a Totem Warrior.

Bouncing with excitement, he said to Qi Shaorong, “Healer, look! I’m a Totem Warrior now! Impressive, right?”

Qi Shaorong nodded. “Yes, very impressive.”

“I never thought I’d see this day!” Xin Duolei shouted excitedly.

He felt brimming with power, itching for a fight.

Qi Shaorong chuckled. “You have excellent potential. Becoming a Totem Warrior was just a matter of time.”

Xin Duolei lowered his head slightly, feeling a bit emotional. He did have talent, but the tribe never gave him much—little beast blood, and always of poor quality. Even so, he was still stronger than most of his peers.

Recently, he’d been training with a more complete cultivation method provided by Qi Shaorong, and he had access to higher-quality beast blood. Even without the Half-Moon Lotus, his strength would have skyrocketed.

Xin Duolei thought to himself: If I were still in the tribe, I wouldn’t have made this much progress. Even if my brother had obtained the lotus, he probably wouldn’t have gotten a single seed, let alone me.

Raymond didn’t become a Totem Warrior, but his strength had also significantly improved.

“Healer, how are you feeling?” Xin Duolei asked.

“I feel great! I don’t even feel cold anymore. This stuff really works! Without it, I might’ve frozen to death,” Qi Shaorong said blissfully.

Xin Duolei laughed dryly. For some reason, Qi Shaorong’s comment made the lotus seeds feel kind of cheap.

Zhuang Hao walked out. Qi Shaorong raised an eyebrow and said, “Ah Hao, your strength has improved a lot again!”

Zhuang Hao nodded. “Yeah.”

“When you were dealing with those beasts, I saw your eyes glow—and then the beasts backed off. How did you do that?” Xin Duolei asked curiously.

Zhuang Hao smiled. “You must’ve seen wrong.”

“Really?” Xin Duolei asked in confusion.

Zhuang Hao nodded. “Definitely.”

Xin Duolei: “…”

Qi Shaorong smiled. Zhuang Hao was a beast tamer and had the ability to suppress beasts. While this didn’t work well on the beasts of this world, it still had some effect. As Zhuang Hao grew stronger, his suppressive power over local beasts was also increasing.

Qi Shaorong looked up at the sky outside and said, “It’s snowing again.”

“Doctor, if you’re feeling cold, I’ll go out and find some firewood,” said Sindorei.

Qi Shaorong looked at Sindorei with confusion and said, “The snow outside is pretty heavy. You still want to go out for firewood?”

“Wind and snow can’t stop a totem warrior!” Sindorei patted his chest, looking excited and proud.

Qi Shaorong looked at him and said, “If you want to go, go. Just be careful!”

Sindorei nodded and darted out like a rabbit.

Qi Shaorong took a deep breath and said, “This kid is really energetic!”

Fred chuckled and said, “Sindorei must have been holding it in for too long and wants to let it out a little. With his current strength, as long as he’s cautious, there shouldn’t be any problems.”

……

Sindorei was bouncing and weaving aimlessly through the underbrush with ease.

“Sindorei!”

Hearing someone call his name, Sindorei turned toward the voice. “Jesse? What are you doing here? In this kind of cold weather, shouldn’t you all be near the tribe?”

Xin Ya looked at Sindorei and suddenly widened his eyes. “Sindorei, you became a totem warrior?”

Sindorei nodded and boasted, “Yep! Pretty amazing, huh?”

“The half-moon lotus seeds—where are they?” Jesse asked anxiously.

“We ate them all,” Sindorei replied as if it were the most natural thing.

“All of them?” Jesse asked, unwilling to accept it.

Seeing Jesse’s expression, Sindorei felt a strange sense of satisfaction. He tilted his head slightly and replied a bit smugly, “Of course. There were seven of us, and only eight seeds. Not enough to go around. I only got one. But the seeds were incredibly effective—just look at me, I’m a totem warrior now.”

Jesse looked at Sindorei’s confident, radiant demeanor, and his eyes turned red with jealousy. Jesse had always dreamed of becoming a totem warrior, but never succeeded. He never expected that this kid Sindorei would beat him to it.

Xin Ya looked at Sindorei and took a deep breath. “Sindorei, the tribe isn’t doing very well lately. If you and your brother are willing to come back…”

Sindorei smiled and said, “No need. We’re doing great now—better than we ever have before.”

Xin Ya had originally planned to say more, but seeing how full of life Sindorei was, he couldn’t bring himself to speak the words.

“You’ve aligned yourselves with another tribe?” Jesse asked.

Sindorei glanced at Jesse with displeasure. “Kind of.”

“You and your brother betrayed the tribe?” Jesse asked.

Sindorei shrugged indifferently. “Not really. We were already exiled.”

Jesse: “…”

……

Sindorei returned to the cave with a bundle of firewood in his arms. Qi Shaorong looked at his expression and said, “You look quite happy.”

“I ran into Jesse and the others,” Sindorei said.

Hearing this, Raymond looked over and asked, “You ran into them?”

Sindorei nodded. “Yeah! You should’ve seen Jesse’s face when he saw me. That idiot isn’t even my match anymore.”

Qi Shaorong smiled and said, “Oh? That’s great then.”

Sindorei nodded. “Exactly! I’ve finally made a comeback. Xin Ya even invited me and my brother to return to the tribe. As if I would go back! After everything my brother did for the tribe, they abandoned him without a second thought.”

Fred looked at Sindorei and asked, “Did they ask about the half-moon lotus?”

Sindorei nodded. “Of course they did. I told them we ate them all. Those guys were super disappointed.” He thought to himself: That fool Jesse probably hoped to get a lotus seed from us—what a joke.

“Oh right, Xin Ya asked about you, Doctor,” Sindorei added.

Qi Shaorong nodded. “Really? And what did you say?”

“Just like you told me—I said you and Zhuang Hao had a romantic relationship and ran away together.” Sindorei glanced at Qi Shaorong with a strange look.

Qi Shaorong nodded in satisfaction. “Good.”

Sindorei couldn’t help but ask, “Doctor, do you really think that was a good idea?”

Qi Shaorong looked at him, puzzled. “Why not?”

“Priests are supposed to be the closest to the gods. They must maintain physical purity. If a priest has an affair, people will see them as indecent and morally corrupt,” Sindorei said.

Qi Shaorong rolled his eyes. “So what you’re saying is, if this story gets around, your tribe will think I’m a lecherous priest?”

Sindorei nodded. “…”

Qi Shaorong: “…”
This damn brat. Couldn’t he have said that earlier? The story’s already out, and now he tells me!
