TRWSB – Chapter 231 The Dark and Light Dragon Kings

The Rebirth Waste Strikes Back 8 min read 231 of 262 45

Rumor had it that the Nether Dragon and the Light Dragon were eternal enemies—yet here was Heijia, hiding Cecia at the top of the Light Magic Tower. Why? Love-hate obsession?

“When will he wake up?”

Heijia’s question snapped Qi Shaorong out of his drifting thoughts.

Qi Shaorong thought to himself: the person on this bed was basically in a vegetative state—retaining only basic reflexes and metabolic function, but with no awareness or voluntary movement.

A vegetative… dragon! He never thought he’d see one in this world.

“That… depends on the treatment,” Qi Shaorong replied cautiously, not daring to promise anything.

Heijia’s sharp gaze bore into Qi Shaorong. “How do we treat him?” he asked coldly.

Qi Shaorong steadied himself, then mustered the courage to ask, “How did he fall asleep in the first place?”

Heijia’s face darkened. After some hesitation, he ground his teeth and said, “We had a fight. Afterward, he just fell asleep.”

Qi Shaorong: “…”
A fight, huh? That probably meant one of those legendary battles to the death.

Qi Shaorong wanted to ask why they fought, but decided it was too personal to pry into.

“Do you have any good treatment methods?” Heijia asked.

“Even if he’s asleep, you can still talk to him,” Qi Shaorong said. “Or try repeating scenes he loved—or hated the most. That kind of stimulation might help him wake up.”

Heijia frowned, skeptical. “I’ve talked to him a lot. He ignores me. Repeat his favorite or most hated memories? Will that really work?”

Qi Shaorong nodded. “It might help!”

“You may leave,” Heijia said.

Qi Shaorong paused for a moment, then sighed with relief.

Heijia’s chilling voice followed him, “Don’t try to leave the Magic Tower. If you do, I’ll crush you. I heard you recently married some pretty boy. Don’t worry, if I kill you, I’ll send him down to accompany you.”

Qi Shaorong smiled awkwardly and quickly reassured him, “I’m not going anywhere. I’ll stay right here in the tower.”

At the stairwell, Qi Shaorong glanced back—Heijia was standing beside the bed, staring obsessively at the unconscious Cecia, eyes burning with a fiery passion.

Qi Shaorong silently muttered: “So that’s why he rushed me out… he’s planning to get on the bed, huh?”

According to legend, the Nether Dragon and the Light Dragon were sworn enemies. Nobody ever said they were bedmates too!

During his stay in the Light Magic Tower, Qi Shaorong was frequently summoned by Heijia to check on Cecia’s condition.

The second time he went up to the top floor, Qi Shaorong’s suspicions were confirmed.
Heijia had indeed slept with Cecia—traces on Cecia’s body were so clear, they made Qi Shaorong choke on Heijia’s uncontainable passion.

“Is his condition improving?” Heijia asked, standing nearby and eyeing Qi Shaorong like a hawk.

Qi Shaorong gave an awkward laugh. “Well, I’ll need to run a thorough check.”

Internally, Qi Shaorong rolled his eyes. This guy really thinks sex is a miracle cure?

He was summoned five or six more times afterward, each visit more nerve-wracking than the last.

Though Cecia remained unconscious, Qi Shaorong had monitored his brainwaves—and surprisingly, they were becoming increasingly active.

……

Staying in the Magic Tower, Qi Shaorong bored himself by reading old magic incantations, rolling his eyes in frustration.

He was newly married, after all—and here he was, stuck in a tower with a mentally unstable old dragon, while that same dragon lived his best life every day.

After about ten days, Zhuang Hao finally came looking for him.

Seeing Qi Shaorong unharmed, Zhuang Hao let out a relieved sigh. “Good thing you’re okay.”

Qi Shaorong was a bit surprised. “What brings you here?”

“Never mind that—where’s that guy?” Zhuang Hao asked.

Qi Shaorong pointed upward. “Up there, living his carefree life.”

“He’s up there? Why didn’t you run?” Zhuang Hao asked.

Qi Shaorong rolled his eyes. “I can’t run. That guy isn’t some normal Saint-level dragon—if I run, he’ll kill me.”

“What does he want from you?” Zhuang Hao asked.

“His beloved is unconscious. He asked me to treat him.” Qi Shaorong replied.

Zhuang Hao was bewildered. “That old dragon… has a beloved?”

Qi Shaorong nodded. “Yep. You’ll never guess who it is.”

“The Light Dragon King, Cecia?” Zhuang Hao asked.

Qi Shaorong stared at him, genuinely impressed. “Whoa! How’d you know?”

“I checked some unofficial records after returning,” said Zhuang Hao. “According to them, the Light Dragon King and the Nether Dragon were from opposing factions, bitter enemies. But it’s also said the Nether Dragon once saved Cecia—they were lovers. The great war between them broke out because the Nether Dragon went berserk and slaughtered many dragons from Cecia’s clan, including his brothers.”

Qi Shaorong’s eyes widened in shock. “There’s such a backstory? I had no idea!”

“How is Cecia now?” Zhuang Hao asked.

Qi Shaorong shook his head. “Still unconscious. If he stays that way, Blackga might put me to eternal sleep too.”

Zhuang Hao frowned. “But it has nothing to do with you!”

Qi Shaorong smiled bitterly. “Blackga doesn’t care about that. He’s got the fists.”

Just then, Blackga descended from the top of the magic tower. Catching sight of Zhuang Hao, a flicker of mockery flashed in his eyes. “So you came already.”

Zhuang Hao quickly shielded Qi Shaorong behind him. “Senior, taking my partner without so much as a word is really rude.”

Blackga narrowed his eyes. “Kid, you’ve got some strength, but you’re far from my level. If you want to bark at me, train for a few more years.”

Zhuang Hao’s face flushed with frustration, glaring at Blackga.

Qi Shaorong forced a smile. “Senior… has Cecia shown any signs of improvement?”

With a grave look, Blackga said, “Today, I think his hand moved. He might be waking up. I’m not sure.”

Qi Shaorong offered, “Cecia’s brainwaves are becoming more active. I think his consciousness is recovering. If we keep doing rehab—”

Suddenly, the tower trembled violently. A surge of powerful light-element magic burst forth.

“Looks like Cecia is awake,” Zhuang Hao said.

A furious roar echoed: “Blackga, you bastard!”

A radiant magic domain exploded toward Blackga, who looked at Cecia with joy, completely forgetting to defend himself.

Cecia, face pale and angry, looked strikingly beautiful even in fury. Zhuang Hao quickly cast a spell to shield Qi Shaorong and teleported them out of the tower.

Inside, light and dark magic clashed violently. The legendary Light Magic Tower, standing in Dilan City for centuries, was destroyed in their battle.

“They’re really fighting!” Qi Shaorong exclaimed.

Top-tier Saint-level powerhouses clashing was a breathtaking sight. The battle between Blackga’s dark domain and Cecia’s light domain turned the sky from night to day and back again.

“What did Blackga do to Cecia? He’s totally on the defensive,” Zhuang Hao remarked.

Qi Shaorong tilted his head. “Maybe because he was in the wrong…”

He inwardly cursed—he had told Blackga to recreate Cecia’s favorite or most hated memories to stimulate his recovery… but he didn’t mean for the guy to sleep with him!

“Anyway,” Zhuang Hao said, “those two old guys won’t finish anytime soon. Let’s leave while we can.”

Qi Shaorong nodded. “Good idea.” Blackga had previously threatened to kill him if he left the tower, but under the current circumstances, surely he’d understand.

The battle raged on, shaking the heavens, but both fighters were still recovering from previous injuries. Eventually, they stopped, exhausted.

Zhuang Hao and Qi Shaorong had already left Dilan City. Sitting in a carriage, Qi Shaorong commented, “Since I disappeared from the capital, things must be in chaos there.”

Zhuang Hao nodded. “Yeah.”

Qi Shaorong chuckled. Zhuang Hao turned to him. “Why are you laughing?”

“I’m laughing because Blackga was actually kind of considerate. At least he didn’t crash our wedding. If he had, people would think I ditched you to run off with a more powerful man.”

Zhuang Hao frowned slightly. Even though Blackga didn’t crash the wedding, rumors in the capital were already painting him in a bad light. Many even claimed he wasn’t… capable.

As they rode, the carriage suddenly stopped.

Qi Shaorong looked at the figure standing in their path and blanched. “Senior… hello!”

Cecia glared at him, face twisted in cold fury. Qi Shaorong felt his scalp go numb.

In a blink, Cecia was in front of him, grabbing him by the collar. “You told Blackga to do that?”

Qi Shaorong hurriedly raised both hands. “It’s a misunderstanding! I didn’t think he’d actually do it!”

Cecia glared at him, eyes brimming with killing intent.

Zhuang Hao moved to block, forcing Cecia back.

Cecia coughed up blood. Qi Shaorong looked at him in shock. “Since when were you so strong?” Cecia should be close to Blackga’s level!

Zhuang Hao said calmly, “It’s not that I’m strong. He’s just at the end of his rope.”

Qi Shaorong looked at the pale Cecia. So he’s just a paper tiger… scared me for nothing!

“Senior, you just woke up. Getting worked up is bad for you. You should really find a place to rest,” Qi Shaorong said kindly.

“I’ll kill you first!” Cecia lunged.

Zhuang Hao’s domain clashed with Cecia’s. Though Zhuang Hao was thrown back, Cecia also coughed up more blood.

Qi Shaorong sighed inwardly. What’s the point of this? It’s not like I slept with you myself! Why throw your life away like this?
