Evil Medicine Estate, Yuan Kingdom
“Young Master, long time no see.” Qi Heng stepped down from the carriage and smiled as he greeted Qi Shaorong.
Qi Shaorong had been waiting at the door for a while. The moment he saw Qi Heng, he rushed forward and gave him a big hug.
“Ah Heng, I missed you so much! Without you here, my heart has felt so empty,” Qi Shaorong said with a coquettish whine.
“Young Master, you’re hugging too tightly.” Qi Heng blushed, looking a little embarrassed.
His eyes instinctively glanced at the carriage, as if he were concerned about something.
“Hugging too tightly? I can’t help it. I’m just too excited to see you again!” Qi Shaorong enthusiastically patted Qi Heng on the back.
Zhuang Hao couldn’t help but tug on Qi Shaorong, saying, “Stop hugging him like that. He can’t breathe.”
Qi Shaorong: “…”
Left Yunfei stepped down from the carriage with a dark expression, his eyes fixed on Qi Shaorong, brows tightly furrowed.
“So Young Master Zuo came along with Ah Heng,” Qi Shaorong smiled, a flicker of understanding in his eyes.
Left Yunfei nodded slightly. “Yes.”
Qi Shaorong waved a hand and said, “Come in, Left Young Master. No need to stand at the door.”
“Thanks.” Left Yunfei squeezed out the words coldly.

Qi Shaorong pulled Qi Heng into the house.
“Ah Heng, you look like you’ve lost weight. Was the food bad?”
Qi Heng rubbed his face and said, “Have I? I think you’re mistaken, Young Master. I don’t think I’ve lost any weight.”
Qi Shaorong pinched his face sympathetically. “Still saying that? Your face is all bones now. See? Without me to take care of you, you just fall apart.”
Left Yunfei leaned in and pulled Qi Shaorong’s hand away from Qi Heng’s face. “He doesn’t look thinner to me. In fact, he looks like he gained some weight—chubby even.”
Zhuang Hao gave Left Yunfei a pitying look and thought to himself, This idiot really is hopeless.
“Left Young Master, is something wrong with your eyes?” Qi Shaorong glared at him, then turned to Qi Heng. “Ah Heng, did you suffer any mistreatment while you were away?”
“No,” Qi Heng replied.
“You’re always like this—bottling everything up even when something’s wrong.”
Qi Heng: “…”
“Young Master, this is the life essence liquid I bought from Miss Daya of the Elf Tribe, and here’s the remaining money.” Qi Heng handed it over.
“Ah Heng, you’re too honest. I gave you the money to spend, not to bring it back. I’m not short on cash,” Qi Shaorong said generously.
Qi Heng replied indifferently, “It’s not like I have any use for so much money.”
Qi Shaorong took the card and rested his chin on his hand. “Ah Heng, I noticed a beautiful elf lady at the end of your convoy.”
Qi Heng nodded. “Yes, that’s Miss Daiya’s gift to me—a bodyguard. She’s good with a bow and apparently a distant cousin of hers.”
Qi Shaorong nodded. “I see. But why did you have Miss Daiqi riding in that shabby carriage all the way at the back? That’s no way to treat a guest from the Elf Tribe…” Though if he remembered right, Qi Heng and Left Yunfei had gotten out of the same carriage earlier.
“That was my oversight.” Qi Heng frowned, silently noting that Left Yunfei had arranged that carriage for Daiqi.
Qi Shaorong continued to dote on Qi Heng for a long time, while Left Yunfei stood off to the side, clearly annoyed.

“Young Master Zhuang,” Left Yunfei crossed his arms and called out to Zhuang Hao.
Zhuang Hao turned and asked, “Left Young Master, what is it?”
“Nothing major. It’s just… you and Young Master Qi have been engaged for some time now, haven’t you?” Left Yunfei asked suspiciously.
Zhuang Hao nodded. “That’s right.”
“So, you’ve never considered marrying Qi Shaorong into your household?” Left Yunfei pressed.
Zhuang Hao gave a bitter smile, thinking to himself: Of course I’ve considered it—hundreds, thousands of times. But thinking about it alone doesn’t help.
“We both feel it’s better to take things slowly,” Zhuang Hao replied with a polite smile.
Left Yunfei looked genuinely surprised. “I must say, I’m shocked. I didn’t think you’d be such a wishy-washy person.”
“I really don’t like the way Qi Shaorong touches Qi Heng,” Left Yunfei added after a pause.
Zhuang Hao: “…”
Zhuang Hao gave an awkward laugh. “Well, I can’t control that, can I?” I haven’t even secured my place yet—how am I supposed to control that?
“Seems I overestimated you,” Left Yunfei said meaningfully.
Zhuang Hao rolled his eyes inwardly. I actually used to think Left Yunfei was decent. I must’ve been blind—he’s a total scumbag!
Zhuang Hao then called out, “Qi Heng doesn’t live in that direction. Where are you going?”
“I’m going to find Qi Shaorong.”
“What for?”
“To discuss something.”
“Wait, Shaorong is in a meeting right now. If you go now… he might not be available.”
“Then tell him to stop the meeting.”
Zhuang Hao: This guy really thinks he’s some kind of emperor, huh?!
+++++
Left Yunfei barged into Qi Shaorong’s conference room. Qi Shaorong was in the middle of a meeting with several franchise owners of Enchanting Beauty cosmetics when he saw Left Yunfei walk in and was momentarily stunned.
Zhuang Hao looked at Qi Shaorong and said, “He insisted on seeing you.”
Qi Shaorong waved to dismiss everyone else in the room.
“Young Master Zuo, what is it?”
“I have something I want to discuss with you,” Left Yunfei said gloomily.
Qi Shaorong looked at Left Yunfei with interest and said, “Young Master Zuo, if there’s something to say, just say it.”
“I’m not one for beating around the bush, so I’ll get straight to the point — I want to ask you to let Qi Heng marry me,” Left Yunfei said.
Qi Shaorong leaned back in his chair and said, “That’s something you shouldn’t be discussing with me, should you?”
“He listens to everything you say. As long as you agree, he won’t refuse,” Left Yunfei said.
Qi Shaorong leaned against his chair, looking at Left Yunfei and thought to himself: This guy finally isn’t being completely dumb — at least he knows who makes the decisions.
Qi Shaorong looked at him and said, “You’re right. Qi Heng does listen to me. If I give the word, he probably won’t object. But tell me — why should I do that?”
“What do you want?” Left Yunfei asked, staring at Qi Shaorong.
Qi Shaorong thought: Compared to Hailing back in the day, this Left Yunfei guy is just an idiot. When Hailing came to talk to me, he certainly didn’t act like this.
“If you want to marry Qi Heng, how much betrothal gift did you bring?” Qi Shaorong asked.
“Fifty million,” Left Yunfei replied.
“Fifty million?” Qi Shaorong stroked his chin, thinking: So the guy did some homework… but still…
“Not enough!” Qi Shaorong smiled and said, “Young Master Zuo, make no mistake — you’re trying to steal my person. That kind of money? Barely enough to fill the gap in my teeth.”
Left Yunfei’s face darkened to a deep purple. “Then how much do you want?”
“Two billion,” Qi Shaorong said casually.
Zhuang Hao’s heart sank — that price is daylight robbery!
Left Yunfei looked at Qi Shaorong and asked, “Are you joking?”
Qi Shaorong shook his head and looked at Left Yunfei with a hint of pity, saying, “Sorry, I never joke.”
“Currently, Qingcheng Cosmetics’ annual profit is around two hundred million. Thanks to Qi Heng, we’ve signed a contract with the Elves, and our projected revenue will double next year. As one of the co-owners, Qi Heng’s annual dividend alone will be in the tens of millions.”
“If the business continues expanding, that number will keep growing. Young Master Zuo — do you think Qi Heng isn’t worth that price?”
…
Left Yunfei glared and said gloomily, “Maybe Qingcheng Cosmetics will collapse tomorrow.”
Qi Shaorong raised his eyebrows and asked suspiciously, “What did you just say?”
Left Yunfei ground his teeth and turned his face away. “Nothing.”
Qi Shaorong asked, “So, do you have a problem with the price?”
“No,” Left Yunfei replied.
Qi Shaorong patted Left Yunfei’s shoulder and said, “Getting married is no easy task. Plenty of people go bankrupt just to marry someone. You’ll have to work hard.”
Left Yunfei: “…”
As Left Yunfei left, Zhuang Hao looked at his back and said, “Shaorong, I think you just scared the eldest son of the Left family out of his wits.”
Qi Shaorong rolled his eyes and said irritably, “If I had known earlier that the eldest young master of the Left family was such an idiot, I never would’ve entrusted Qi Heng to him in the first place.”
Left Yunfei was once highly regarded. Qi Shaorong had assumed he just had a bad temper — turns out it’s not just the temper, his brain might be fried too. Maybe got struck by lightning one too many times.
Zhuang Hao: “…”
Hands on his hips, Qi Shaorong looked at Left Yunfei’s departing figure and sneered, “That idiot actually had the nerve to strut in front of me and demand to marry my person. You think someone of mine is that easy to snatch? Trying to dig into my corner and even giving me a stinking attitude — I’ll destroy him.”
Zhuang Hao: “…”
+++++
Left Yunfei walked gloomily back into the house. Qi Heng looked at his expression and asked, “What’s wrong? You don’t look so good.”
Left Yunfei looked at Qi Heng and probed, “You get tens of millions in dividends every year?”
Qi Heng turned his head to look at him and said, “Why are you suddenly interested in that?”
Left Yunfei shifted uncomfortably and said, “Just asking.”
“Qingcheng Cosmetics has been doing well lately. My share of the profits is probably in the tens of millions. With the cooperation with the Elves, Shaorong may expand the business even further,” Qi Heng said.
Left Yunfei stared at him and muttered, “Looks like you’re sitting on a goldmine.”
“I told you before — if I wanted to marry ten or even eighty wives, I could do it without breaking a sweat,” Qi Heng said.
Left Yunfei’s expression turned even darker.
Qi Heng looked at him and asked, “Are you tight on money lately? Do you want to borrow some?”
Left Yunfei burst out, flustered, “No way! Even if you’re loaded, I’m not the type to live off a woman!”
Qi Heng: “…”
