“Help! Pervert!” Ling Ruoxi’s scalp tingled, goosebumps rising all over her body. Seeing Luo Mingyu advancing toward her, she suddenly crouched into the water, wrapping her oversized coat and running toward the edge of the pool.

With a wave of his right hand, the purple formation descended, enveloping the entire bathhouse. No one outside could hear the sounds within, nor could anyone enter. Of course, those inside could not leave—it was entirely Luo Mingyu’s paradise.

Ling Ruoxi, still running, hadn’t properly fastened her white coat, leaving a large swath of her back exposed. Even more comical, her small rear peeked out as she ran, her long legs like white jade, leaving tiny footprints on the cold floor.

Thump! She collided with the formation, nearly bouncing off. She crouched and clutched her forehead, crying out in pain.

A cold breeze swept over, making her shiver. She tightened her coat and leaned against the icy wall, stammering, “M-Mr… pervert, I was joking! I know you are too, so please go back! I apologize. Don’t come closer—if you do, I’ll fight back! I really will!”

She held up her hands defensively, her heart racing. Luo Mingyu, however, only smiled faintly and gently placed a hand on her cheek. “Why cover your face?”

With a slight tug, the veil hanging by her ear fell. Her black eyes narrowed. In that moment, the world seemed to dim.

The woman before him was more beautiful than six years ago. If back then she was a pure, untouchable fairy, now she was like a flower about to bloom. Her narrow phoenix-like eyes widened in fear, droplets from the bath clinging to her long wet lashes. Her damp hair clung to her shoulders. In panic, her pink lips parted, her modest chest heaving slightly, the slope flowing down to her flat abdomen. Her lower parts were still covered by her flowing garment, adding an air of mystery, tempting further exploration.

Her delicate tongue lightly pressed against her upper palate, silver threads at the corners of her mouth giving her the air of a startled young deer—innocent and pitiable.

“Don’t remove it!” Ling Ruoxi reacted too late. The white veil had fallen, fully exposing her face to him. Beads of sweat ran down her face, yet they could not hide the inherent allure in her features.

“You’re beautiful. Why hide it? Covering your face is just inviting someone to take it,” Luo Mingyu said, faintly smiling. He cradled her slim waist with his left arm, pressing her wrist against the cold wall, immobilizing her.

Her heart skipped a beat. Ling Ruoxi’s mind raced—she had promised herself that if someone removed her veil after leaving the island, she would marry him. She had imagined scenarios where she was rescued and her veil fell into his hands.

But why was it him removing it? His teasing smile felt unreal, lacking the aura she remembered.

“You don’t need to look. Let me go!” Ling Ruoxi finally realized she was trapped. Her right hand was twisted backward, pinned to the icy wall. Even her waist was restrained, leaving her powerless to resist.

She slammed her left hand against Luo Mingyu’s chest, scowling. “Pervert! What do you want? Surely you’ve heard of Ling Ruoxi? The girl from six years ago who was caught trying to flirt with men and had her engagement canceled? That’s me. If you don’t mind my past, come on, then! Come on!”

Hatred flared in her eyes as she glared at him. The man before her must be of a very noble status—there was no reason to go against her. And who would want to sleep with a woman already wronged by other men? It would only disgust him!

Yet Luo Mingyu only smiled faintly. Slowly, he released her waist, touched her nose with a finger, and held her left hand, lifting it above her head.

“What are you doing?!” Ling Ruoxi panicked. She thought he might show some restraint, but this mischievous man was lifting her hands! In her fluster, she was wearing only a coat, which now fully opened.

Luo Mingyu’s gaze darkened. His left hand held her wrists, and with a flick of his right, her silken sash fell into his hand, binding her slender arms behind her.

“You pervert! Get away!” She panicked further, kicking instinctively at his lower body, attempting the same surprise attack as before.

But Luo Mingyu was fully aware. The instant she raised her right leg, he hooked her calf and drew her close. Seeing her soft, supple body, a fire surged within him—her figure seemed even more perfect than six years ago.

“Let go of me! Help! Yizhui! Yimeng! Let go! You pervert! I can’t believe you’re like this! Get away! If you don’t, I’ll bite my tongue and smash my head here! Let go!” Ling Ruoxi panicked, cheeks flushing red as the lower part of his body pressed between her legs.

This man—this man…

Her first encounter years ago had been a mysterious violation, leaving her with his children, unaware of his appearance. Now she was clear-headed; she would never allow such a beast to humiliate her again.

“I’m not a pervert. Ruoxi, you wanted to know my name, didn’t you? I’ll tell you—I am Luo Mingyu.” He reached for her familiar face, grasping her jaw, lowering his head to look into her eyes.

Luo Mingyu!

Her whole body shivered violently. Ling Ruoxi stared in shock. In her mind, she saw the man she remembered—mask-wearing, confident, taciturn, reckless even when poisoned.

She had wanted to survive. She knew he understood.

But the man before her now was like pure moonlight—untouched, graceful, seductive, with none of the iron-blooded ruthlessness she remembered. His voice was soft, almost flirtatious. How could he be the same Luo Mingyu?

“No… you can’t be him!” She tried to push him away, but her bound hands rendered her helpless. Lips bitten, she struggled, shaking all over.

Luo Mingyu held her firmly, whispering, “Listen to me, Ruoxi. Listen to my explanation.”

“I won’t listen, you pervert! Let go!” She wished for extra hands to fend him off, twisting her soft body in his embrace.

For Luo Mingyu, this was a greater challenge than anything else. He smacked her butt sharply. “Be quiet. Why do you never listen?”

“Nothing to explain! You’re not him! Why should I listen? Let go! By the way, Luo Mingyu, are you kidney-deficient?!” Her brows rose, eyes glaring fiercely.

Years ago, he had injuries, his body strained by frequent exertion. She knew he had weak kidneys.

Luo Mingyu’s lips twitched—she dared accuse him of kidney deficiency in front of him!

“You have no scars from your injuries. Those I stitched myself. You’re not him—so why pretend?” she shouted, trembling, sliding down the wall exhausted.

Luo Mingyu felt a surge of pride. He spread out his right hand, dispersing the purple Dou Qi that had bound her with the silken sash. “Today, I’ll let you go. If you don’t want to, I won’t force you. But never enter my room lightly again, or I’ll treat it as seduction.”

He took two steps forward, then turned to her with a faint smile. “You don’t know—after I was poisoned, I became involved with a pure woman. When I sought her, she had gone. You don’t know there’s a medicine called Snow Skin Gu—it heals even the worst injuries. You don’t know that a mask, worn too long, is hard to remove. Don’t let me see you again, Ruoxi…”

His proud figure walked away. Purple Dou Qi spread, the wooden boards instantly reassembled into an impenetrable barrier between the two pools.

Rushing back to her room, Ling Ruoxi quickly dressed, clutching a blanket, trembling as her mind replayed the scene. Could he really be Luo Mingyu?

Over and over, she questioned herself, until exhaustion pulled her into a deep sleep.

Meanwhile, Luo Mingyu returned to his room, sleepless the entire night, hoping that the foolish woman would understand—he had always been the same, unchanged from beginning to end.
