The heavy greatsword had long since rusted, looking completely different from the day it was forged. Things change, people change—it was truly hard to accept. Yet, the master’s sword had been made from the finest Xuanyin crystal on the continent. Even time itself could not corrode it, so how could it have rusted now?
Thinking of this, Jiang Yu stepped forward instinctively.
“Hmph! From your tone, it sounds like we’re the ones at fault, Jiang Yu. As your elder brothers, every one of us is stronger than you! We’re older than that little girl, so why do you always speak up for her? Even if she studied the Poison Scripture, what can it do? She still can’t save the master. We can’t wait any longer—we must wake him up!” one of the children shouted angrily. But having consumed too much Purple Bamboo Qi, even raising his hand was now a struggle.
Jiang Yu stopped and turned to face the Purple Bamboo before him. A cold glint flashed across his face as he said calmly, “She is the master’s daughter, so naturally she wants to wake him more than anyone. But you don’t understand medical arts. Even if you transformed into Purple Bamboo for the master to ingest, he might not wake up. Just wait properly—we…”
“Swoosh!”
A murderous aura erupted in an instant. Jiang Yu’s face changed drastically. He dodged to the side, and a sharp glint exploded in his black eyes.
Placing a single hand on his Moon-Slaying Dragon Roar, a purple gleam sliced forward.
“Boom!”
The entire ice cavern trembled violently, snow flying outward. The black-clad figure stood motionless, staring at the Purple Bamboo in the cave.
Jiang Yu’s pupils contracted sharply. He spun and stopped in front of Ling Feng, dagger held horizontally, and coldly raised an eyebrow. “Who are you, and what are you doing here?”
“Heh, of course, I’m an old acquaintance of Ling Feng. I just came to see him—didn’t expect… didn’t expect he’d turn out like this. When I heard, I wasn’t even sure.”
The woman standing there smiled faintly, her eyes flickering with light, pretending to look solemn as she stepped forward.
The four figures on the ice bed paled. They tried to roll aside, but having exhausted too much spiritual energy, they could barely stand, let alone fight.
“Don’t come any closer!” Jiang Yu said coldly. Though the woman looked ordinary, her sudden aura proved she was far from normal. Who she really was… no one could tell.
With a faint smile, the seductive figure advanced slowly, her black eyes flashing with light. “Oh? Afraid I’ll harm Ling Feng? Relax—I wouldn’t dare touch your master. I barely have time to love him myself. You…”
Her fair fingers extended from the black robe, but in the next moment, a purple gleam cut across the air, slashing toward the front.
“Ding!”
As if a nail had fallen to the ground, her slender fingers casually pinched the blade. No matter how hard Jiang Yu tried, he couldn’t cut through. The woman, in contrast, moved with effortless grace, her mouth curling in a faint, mischievous smile.
“Boom!”
The flying black figure slammed into the ice, sending layers of snow cascading down.
“Brother!” The four behind her froze, pain surging through them as if stabbed by knives, every tendon twitching—they could not resist.
Baili Wushuang chuckled coldly, eyes fixed on the group. “What a perfect opportunity. You think you can escape my grasp? Indeed, the five of you combined couldn’t escape—not even Luo Mingyu. But now, for a sleeping person, you’ve wasted your Purple Bamboo Qi. Serves you right!”
“You!” The four paled. Hearing Jiang Yu’s words, they realized their mistake—they should never have wasted so much Purple Bamboo Qi, leaving them powerless to protect their master.
But the woman in front was far too cunning. The barrier outside kept everything inside hidden. No one outside knew what was happening. They couldn’t just stand by and watch their master get hurt.
Anger flared in their eyes, but they were too weak—they could barely move.
“Swoosh!”
Snow and ice suddenly exploded, and a black figure shot forward like an arrow. Hands gripping the Moon-Slaying Dragon Roar, a golden dragon coiled around his arms and struck forward.
Baili Wushuang narrowed her black eyes and snorted coldly. Two streams of purple-black energy coiled around her hands like lightning, striking toward him.
“Clang!”
The golden light shielded Jiang Yu’s body. The purple energy clashed against Baili Wushuang’s fighting aura. The purple-black energy, sharp as a blade, tore through Jiang Yu’s defense, striking the golden shield fiercely.
“Roar!”
Dragon cries echoed through the cave. The golden shield instantly vanished, unable to withstand Baili Wushuang’s attack.
The flying figure smashed against the rock, blood spraying across the snow, dazzlingly bright. The four watching paled, staring in shock.
“We’ll fight you!” Blood spurted from their mouths. The four figures hurtled forward like shooting stars, moving at extreme speed.
Baili Wushuang’s body shivered; her lips lifted in a grin. “Didn’t expect you’d sacrifice centuries of cultivation for such foolishness! Even so, you can’t beat me!”
“Swoosh!”
Her hands, like blades, tore through the purple barrier. The black figure opened its hands, grabbing one of the Purple Bamboo stalks by the neck and flung it toward the ice mountain.
A kick sent two others falling backward, powerless to resist. Even if they had increased their cultivation, the gap was far too great.
“Stop! Don’t hurt the master!” The last figure crashed into the hard ice, every tendon nearly snapping, eyes wide with desperation.
The seductive figure moved slowly through the ice and snow, black eyes flashing with hidden light. She treated it as if it were ordinary, quietly admiring the seated figure.
After all these years, he was still as handsome as before, but too ethereal—like the wind itself—untouchable. Baili Wushuang reached out instinctively, stunned at the sight.
“Vuuuumm!”
The sound resonated, Baili Wushuang’s face changed. Before her fingers could touch Ling Feng, the black figure shot into the air, landing on the ground, eyes glowing coldly.
“It’s you, Baili Wushuang!” Murong Ming, sensing the murderous aura, frowned, locking eyes with her. “You… have gone mad?”
“Old man, we’ll meet next time!” With a flick of her ear, Baili Wushuang became a streak of lightning, rushing out of the cave, giving Murong Ming no chance.
Murong Ming rushed forward, relieved to see Ling Feng unharmed. His eyes instinctively landed on the five severely injured children. He quickly gathered them together. “What happened to you five? When did Baili Wushuang become this strong? Even you are hurt like this!”
“Don’t talk about it—we need to recover.” Jiang Yu inhaled sharply, clenching his fists. With their current state, none of the five could use their Purple Bamboo Qi for the next ten days. He hadn’t expected this to happen here.
Smelling blood in the air, Ling Ruoxi dashed in, horrified at the five weakened figures. She knelt and checked Jiang Yu’s pulse. “How did this happen? What’s going on? Quickly, take this!”
She handed them pills she had prepared. Seeing them meditating cross-legged, she finally relaxed. She glanced at her father, who was unchanged, then looked at Murong Ming, frowning. “What exactly happened? Why are they like this?”
“I don’t know. I was meditating when I sensed the blood smell, rushed here, and broke the barrier. Baili Wushuang reached here, but fortunately, I arrived in time. Ling Feng is fine, but the other five Purple Bamboo have been drained of their energy,” Murong Ming said, frowning. The barrier had been broken, and even the combined strength of five Purple Bamboo could not hurt Baili Wushuang.
Ling Ruoxi inhaled sharply. Baili Wushuang’s power—just how strong was she?
Murong Ming continued grimly, “I noticed her aura has changed. She seems close to the demonic path. Ruoxi, you must be careful. The five Purple Bamboo are heavily injured, so tomorrow’s treatment may need to be postponed.”
“It’s all our fault.” The four children opened their eyes simultaneously, regret shining in them. They bit their teeth in silence, saying nothing further.
