It was truly earth-shattering!
Those watching couldn’t help swallowing hard. Just a casual movement caused such a terrifying disturbance—if that Five-Clawed Golden Dragon truly lost its temper, wouldn’t the entire Duanyun Kingdom be wiped out by it?
Nangong Mo let out a cold laugh, standing atop the city wall and looking down at the man and beast below. “There’s no need for General Lie Yun to trouble himself. It’s just that your pet doesn’t seem very obedient—rather resistant to you, in fact.”
“Hahaha! Your Highness, don’t worry about that—just sit tight!” With a furious roar, Lie Yun fixed the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon with a cold stare.
Seemingly sensing Lie Yun’s anger, the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon quickly flattened itself against the ground, its huge eyes filled with grievance as it looked forward. Its big eyes blinked, then it tilted its head in confusion and glanced up toward the city wall.
A faint smile curved Lie Yun’s lips as he sneered coldly. “Your Highness, now that you’ve seen my army and this Five-Clawed Golden Dragon, don’t you have anything to say?”
“Is there anything we need to say?” The Silver Wolf raised an eyebrow, sprawled on the wall and pointed inward. “Many thanks to General Lie Yun for delivering such a delicious magical beast to us—truly honored by your affection. However, given your vile behavior, we don’t plan on letting you in.”
“Where did this brat come from?!”
Lie Yun’s eyes darkened as his aura suddenly exploded outward.
The crouching Five-Clawed Golden Dragon flew into a rage. Its massive claw slammed forward, its huge body springing into the air like lightning toward the imperial city. Its mouth opened wide, and a violent gale surged forth.
“Ahhh!”
Soldiers of weaker cultivation stood no chance against that killing intent—armor and all, they were sucked straight into the dragon’s mouth. The Five-Clawed Golden Dragon seemed displeased, murderous light blazing in its eyes as it opened its jaws again to continue devouring.
“Vile beast—seeking death!” Nangong Mo’s face darkened. Purple Dou Qi flared from his body as his longsword trembled and hovered before him. A powerful pressure erupted as his figure shot into the air, sword in hand, slashing toward the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon.
Clang!
The dragon had barely regarded the attack, yet under the sword’s light its enormous body shuddered, flipping once in midair before crashing back to the ground.
Its foreclaws instinctively covered its head as it let out a furious roar.
A Purple Exalted—something it couldn’t confront head-on, at least for now!
Nangong Mo swiftly retreated back onto the city wall. That single slash left his blood surging; veins bulged on his sword hand, and blood seeped from the web of his palm.
The Five-Clawed Golden Dragon—truly tough.
“Your Highness is indeed powerful,” Lie Yun said coldly, eyes flashing. “But the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon has far more strength than this!” He stroked the dragon’s head and barked, “Go—show them what you can really do!”
“Roar!” The dragon leapt skyward again. Its long body arched, scales flaring open as it clamped its jaws shut, seemingly gathering power. Its wide eyes fixed on the city—and with a thunderous cry, torrents of flame poured toward the imperial city.
Not good!
Nangong Mo’s face changed drastically. He spread his arms as purple Dou Qi erupted from within the city, forming a dome that blocked the flames outside the walls.
“I’ll help too!” The Silver Wolf suppressed his trembling body, channeling a thread of white Dou Qi forward. Yet under that overwhelming pressure, his face turned an ugly bluish-purple.
“Your Highness,” Lie Yun sneered, murderous light blazing, “I brought the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon to tell you this: just the two of us are enough to take the entire Duanyun Kingdom!”
His figure flickered—and suddenly appeared atop the city wall.
“Is that so?” A cold voice rang out.
A calm figure stood behind him, a dagger flashing out in a natural arc.
Lie Yun twisted aside with agile movement, his figure hovering midair. Bloodthirsty light flickered in his eyes as he sneered. “So it’s someone from Qiongyu Immortal Island. What—are you intervening in Duanyun Kingdom’s affairs? Is Qiongyu Immortal Island coming out into the world?”
“I’m just dealing with a dog,” Ling Ruoxi replied coldly with a faint smile. “Does that really require borrowing Qiongyu Immortal Island’s name?”
She sheathed the dagger, hooked her right hand lightly, and the Thunderbolt Spear appeared. With a casual swing, purple light flared violently.
“Break!”
Her figure shot forward toward the flames. The spear tapped out, and razor-sharp Dou Qi burst forth like lightning, striking ahead.
The flames in the sky trembled. Purple Dou Qi tore through the air and stabbed straight into the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon’s nose.
“Graaah!” The dragon cried out in pain, its massive body shuddering before crashing down to the ground.
Ling Ruoxi hovered in midair, coldly staring at Lie Yun. “If I can injure the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon, I can destroy it.”
“Hah! You think you can?” Lie Yun laughed coldly. With a flick of his hand, white powder scattered toward the dragon, releasing a strange aura into the air.
The Five-Clawed Golden Dragon stiffened abruptly. Red light flashed in its eyes as murderous intent exploded, its bloodlust fully ignited. With a furious roar, its golden body shot into the sky and slammed toward the city.
The sweeping force made Ling Ruoxi’s face sink. She dodged to the side, then cursed inwardly and grabbed at the dragon’s tail.
Hiss!
Golden Dou Qi devoured outward. Her face paled as the force nearly dragged her away. She jammed the Thunderbolt Spear hard into the dragon’s tail.
Boom!
With a furious flick, the dragon hurled her away. Her body smashed into the sturdy city wall. Dizzy and disoriented, blood trickled from the corner of Ling Ruoxi’s mouth, her face white as paper.
“Ruoxi!” Nangong Mo leapt down, grabbing her arm and pulling her into his arms. “You’re still injured—you can’t push yourself like this!”
“Let go of me.”
Ling Ruoxi wiped the blood from her lips and spoke coldly, eyes fixed ahead. “With your strength, you can’t deal with them. Listen to me—go help set up the barrier. Xiaobai, we’re up!”
“Yes! Don’t worry—I’ll protect my master!” The Silver Wolf growled, pressing a hand to Nangong Mo’s shoulder. With the dragon attacking head-on, there was no retreat left. No matter the injuries, they couldn’t let it break through!
Eyes reddening, Nangong Mo gripped the Silver Wolf’s shoulder. “Protect her—properly!”
With a sweep of his arm, his sword leapt free. He turned toward Lie Yun. “General, our matters should be settled one-on-one. After this, I’ll treat you to roasted dragon meat.”
“Hmph. After this, I’d rather taste your flesh!” Lie Yun surged forward, killing intent blazing. Nangong Mo snorted coldly and followed.
In the sky, the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon roared, blood-red eyes fixed on the two before it. Sensing the aura of another magical beast, it opened its massive jaws, rough tongue licking sharp fangs.
“Well, that’s it—it wants to eat me,” the Silver Wolf laughed bitterly. He spread his arms as sharp claws burst forth. With a low roar, his silver-white figure twisted—and a ten-meter-tall form reappeared in midair.
Snow-white fur flowed smoothly, black eyes cold and focused. His fluffy tail trembled—and split into nine. Claws pressed through the air as killing light flared in his eyes. “Ruoxi, you take the back—I’ll take the front. Let’s deal with this stinking thing!”
“Alright!” Ling Ruoxi lifted her spear and shot forward like lightning.
Under the open sky, the two divine beasts faced each other. The oppressive pressure made the Snow Wolf uncomfortable, yet he stared coldly at the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon, stamping forward as his silver figure charged.
“Roar!” Two thunderous roars collided. The beasts clashed, shockwaves ripping outward as the heavens and earth trembled.
A long tail lashed out, coiling tightly around the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon, locking it in place. Cold light flashed in black eyes. A figure appeared behind—both hands gripping the Thunderbolt Spear as savage aura erupted, crackling like lightning as it thrust forward.
Boom!
The dragon shuddered violently, a gaping hole torn open in its body. Enraged, it shook itself fiercely. The Silver Wolf was forced back, his nine tails snapping free.
The dragon grew even more ferocious, twisting and struggling in the air, blood-red eyes locked onto Ling Ruoxi. Its jaws opened wide—the surrounding air froze.
“Ruoxi!” The Silver Wolf’s face changed drastically as he rushed toward her.
But the gale came too suddenly. Before she could steady herself, Ling Ruoxi was sucked straight into the dragon’s mouth.
Eaten?!
The Silver Wolf froze, then let out a furious roar. A streak of golden light burst from his forehead as his body shrank slightly. He slammed both claws forward, killing intent surging, striking at the dragon.
The Five-Clawed Golden Dragon dodged nimbly, spitting flames in retaliation.
The Silver Wolf couldn’t evade in time—his silver fur ignited. He crashed to the ground and rolled, then sprang up and leapt away. In the blink of an eye, he was already atop a mountain ten miles away, the dragon closing in behind him.
