Night—too deep, too dark.
So heavy. It felt as though all the strength in her body had been drained away. Waves of pain assaulted her, her body as if it had been run over by a train, her bones nearly falling apart.
Heavy breathing, a scorching-hot body, and a stranger—who was it?
Her parched lips parted slightly as Ling Ruoxi slowly opened her hazy eyes. It was too dark to see who the person before her was. Yet the strange sensation beneath her jolted her nerves awake.
This is…? She only remembered apprehending an S-rank fugitive in a bar. How had she suddenly ended up here? Where was this place? And who was this long-haired man in front of her?
Hot—like being trapped in flames. She felt as though she were about to burn up. The other person’s body was even hotter, almost scorching her skin. Her mind was still muddled. She tried to reach for the dagger she always carried, only to realize she was already completely naked.
“Don’t… don’t…” The soft, tender voice startled even herself. Her slender arms were no match for the man’s advance. The strange sensation spread through her entire body. The tearing pain made her frown deeply. When she tried to make him stop, she only angered him instead. His violent movements nearly tore her in two.
A mist filled her eyes, blurring his features. His body was strong and powerful, without a trace of excess flesh, his searing heat continuing to rise. Long since lost to themselves, the two of them breathed softly, as if immersed in a paradise.
The first rays of morning sunlight spilled into the forest, warm and comforting. Something furry brushed against her nose, ticklish.
“Achoo! Ah—pain!” Startled awake, Ling Ruoxi opened her eyes, only to be terrified by the scene before her. White cloth lay scattered everywhere. On the grass beneath her was a faint trace of blood-red. Drawn by the scent of blood, a brown bear stood behind a tree, staring at her coldly.
Th-this… what is going on?!
Her whole body trembled as all her memories snapped back into clarity at that instant.
She—Ling Ruoxi—an international special agent of the twenty-first century—had chased a fugitive all the way here! Her expression changed drastically as she quickly looked down. Her delicate body was covered in bruises, unmistakable marks left by someone. A milky white liquid still seeped from her thigh—clearly, something unexpected had happened last night.
She liked handsome men, liked teasing all kinds of good-looking guys, but she had always known her limits. Play was play—once it crossed the line, it was trouble. This time, though, it seemed she had gone too far. She had even lost her chastity. What infuriated Ling Ruoxi even more was that the man responsible had eaten her clean and then disappeared without a trace!
“Ah—damn it, you bastard! You eat and run?! Do you think I, the number one special agent, am just for show?! Hmph! Even if you run to the ends of the earth, I’ll drag you out and personally cut that thing off!” Didn’t he know how to show a little tenderness? Were all men this rough?
Pulling herself together, Ling Ruoxi braced her hands against the ground. Her legs trembled so badly that even standing was difficult. But she knew that if she didn’t get up now, the next moment she’d become food for that beast!
She quickly grabbed her clothes and wrapped them loosely around herself like a bath towel, outlining her perfect figure. It barely covered the roots of her thighs; the half-hidden view was all the more enticing. A sharp glint flashed in her eyes as Ling Ruoxi took a step back. Narrowing her gaze, she cursed inwardly—damn it, was she really going to fight this huge thing with her bare hands? That would be a death wish. Just then, her eyes caught sight of a silver-white longsword stuck in the ground. Her eyes lit up. She leapt forward, grabbed the hilt, flicked the blade upward, and said coldly, “You big dumb bear—running into me today is your bad luck. I’ll chop off your paws and make braised bear’s paw out of them!”
As if it understood her words, the brown bear behind the tree flashed a fierce cold light in its pitch-black eyes. It kicked off the ground with its paws, its massive body shooting forward like a cannonball.
Holy hell! Ling Ruoxi’s eyes nearly popped out of their sockets. As the top special agent, what hadn’t she seen? Ordinary bears were slow—forget running, even walking was cumbersome. But this brown bear before her—its speed was terrifyingly fast…
The injuries on her body throbbed faintly, especially her weak, trembling legs. Ling Ruoxi bit down hard on her tongue, forcing herself to focus. The silver-white sword in her hand swung out. She didn’t dodge, charging straight ahead.
“Clang!”
With a single decisive strike, the figure wrapped in white shot forward at a speed no slower than the bear’s. The blade plunged straight into the bear’s lower abdomen—the weakest spot of any animal!
“Roar!”
Damn it! Ling Ruoxi cursed inwardly and twisted her body, trying to leap away. But for the sake of attacking, she had chosen to strike from the bear’s underbelly, leaving herself no retreat. Her airborne body shuddered—and the next instant, she was sent flying like a ball, swatted away by a single paw.
Shit!
As she flew through the air, Ling Ruoxi wished she could chop off her own hands. What was going on? That strike hadn’t carried the strength she expected. And her body’s flexibility was far worse than usual. Could it be because of what happened last night that she couldn’t even unleash half her normal power?
