Chapter 357

SFTD -Chapter 357 Are You Watt?

Speaking for the Dead6 min read358 of 429

The boy raised the admission letter in his hand and shook it innocently.

“Of course I’m here to register. What else would I be doing here?”

The little girl waved her arm, eyes wide, snatched the admission letter from him. It indeed read Southeast University. She slapped it back onto his chest.

“What the heck is going on?”

“Didn’t you get into Tsinghua? Why are you coming here?”

Although the boy sounded a little uncertain, he still seemed to have his own ideas. He lifted his chin and said calmly, pretending to be composed:

“I can choose whichever school I want. I just like Southeast University—what’s wrong with that?”

“Aren’t you here too?”

“That’s nonsense, it’s not the same! I have my reasons…”

Zhou Hai listened for a while and suddenly understood. He pointed at the tall, thin boy and asked suspiciously: “Are you Watt?”

That completely random question made the boy freeze for a moment, but he still nodded obediently.

“Yeah… I guess so?”

“Before we continue, Zhou Luoluo, can you please lift your foot? You’re still stepping on my shoe.”

Zhou Hai quickly looked down—and sure enough, the little girl’s platform shoe was firmly planted on the boy’s foot.

Even though she wasn’t heavy, standing on someone’s foot full force still hurt quite a bit. Yet this guy was still calmly talking without losing his manners. Quite impressive.

The little girl’s eye twitched. Internally, she had already “killed” Watt countless times. Saying something like that in public made her look like a little demon.

But on the surface, she still endured it.

She quickly lifted her foot and stepped back a couple of paces, turning around to rejoin the queue in silence.

Zhou Hai glanced at her, then at Watt, feeling slightly awkward.

He turned back and nodded at Watt. Just as he was about to call him “Watt,” he hesitated. That was clearly a nickname the little girl had given him—if he used it, everyone would know, and the boy might be stuck with it for all four years of university.

After thinking for a moment, Zhou Hai asked: “You and my Luoluo were in the same high school class, right? I still don’t know your full name. What’s your name?”

Watt scratched his head with a faint smile and glanced at the girl’s back, a bit shy.

“Big brother, just call me Watt. Zhou Luoluo likes calling me that.”

Zhou Hai facepalmed internally.

Is this kid a masochist? Or does he have Stockholm syndrome?

She’s clearly insulting him, and he’s happily accepting it?

Wait… he got into Tsinghua but still came to Southeast University?

Did I actually guess right?

Is this guy here to steal the girl?

No—wait… is he here to pursue her?

While Zhou Hai was overthinking, the little girl suddenly snapped around like a triggered cat, glaring at Watt.

“Who’s your big brother? This is my Zhou Zhou brother! When did he become your brother?”

Zhou Hai quickly grabbed her arm and lowered his voice: “We’re in public. Watch your image.”

“You’ve already raised your voice by sixteen degrees. Do you know what that means? You’re exposing your weak points.”

“Do you want to start university on day one with a nickname like ‘little witch’ or ‘crazy girl’?”

The little girl’s chest rose and fell rapidly, clearly furious. Though Zhou Hai’s words weren’t nice, they hit exactly where it mattered.

She shot Watt a glare and raised a tiny fist in warning.

Watt, however, wasn’t affected at all. Instead, he smiled, took out an umbrella from his backpack, and opened it to shield her from the blazing sun.

The classmates behind him started laughing.

Zhou Hai facepalmed again.

This kid is hopeless—definitely textbook Stockholm syndrome.

Seeing the girl about to turn back again, Zhou Hai grabbed both of her arms and restrained her.

He could already feel her about to explode. If she got loose now, things like groin kicks were definitely on the table.

To save his future medical expenses, he hugged her tightly.

The girl froze instantly. Her ears and face turned completely red.

Zhou Hai thought she was just angry and kept whispering into her ear: “Don’t get angry. Hold it in.”

“You’re wearing a skirt. Kicking people isn’t exactly elegant.”

“If you really want to hit him, just schedule a sparring session at a taekwondo gym. Didn’t you learn a few moves from Wang Xuchao? Perfect chance to test them out. It’s easy to find a punching bag anyway.”

The redness on the girl’s face gradually faded. Zhou Hai’s words actually worked. She nodded hard, then hooked her arm around his.

Her face still looked like she was about to cry, but inside she was already thrilled.

Zhou Hai didn’t push her away.

Watt clicked his tongue behind them.

He resisted the urge to pull the girl back into line. He knew she didn’t like his “nagging teacher” style. So he simply put his hands in his pockets and waited patiently.

Soon it was the girl’s turn to register. After filling out the forms, she turned to leave.

Watt called out:

“Zhou Luoluo, can you hold this umbrella for me? I need to finish filling out the form.”

She stopped.

Zhou Hai patted her arm and nodded. Only then did she take it—but she didn’t open it. Instead, she just held it awkwardly while waiting.

When Watt finished, she immediately shoved the umbrella back into his arms and dragged Zhou Hai toward the female dormitory registration area.

Many senior male students were helping maintain order and carry luggage for the girls.

Zhou Hai stopped.

“Luoluo, I’ll just take my luggage and wait for you here.”

She hesitated, but seeing the crowd of girls ahead, she finally nodded.

“Okay. I’ll go register for my dorm. Wait for me here.”

Zhou Hai nodded firmly.

He wasn’t going anywhere.

He went back to the car, brought out the luggage and daily necessities, and dragged them back with effort. The weight was exhausting.

Just as he set things down, a gust of fragrance passed by.

He instinctively reached out and caught something—a brightly colored silk scarf.

What is it with women? It’s summer and still wearing scarves with such heavy perfume. Not getting heatstroke is already impressive.

When he looked up—

A familiar figure in high heels was walking toward him.

A white dress fluttered in the wind, and she slowly removed her sunglasses with a smile.

“East City really is small. I didn’t expect to run into the busy Forensic Doctor Zhou here.”

Zhou Hai narrowed his eyes and searched his memory for a moment before finally recognizing her.

“Oh… Hello, Miss Hu. I almost didn’t recognize you dressed like this.”

Hu Xiaoyu smiled brightly, tilted her head playfully, and leaned closer to his ear, biting the arm of her sunglasses as she whispered: “Who did you bring to school today?”

“Don’t tell me… it’s your little girlfriend?”
